Reva noticed that Colin is oblivious to the fact that he’s kind of the McDreamy around the clinic, then asked him to take her out for the evening. “You know how to keep me alive and I know how to live,” she winked, but she had actually set him up with a pretty coworker. While Colin generally bumbled his way sweetly through the awkward date, Reva chatted up the bartender who, as a cancer survivor himself, assured her that there’s life after “The Big ‘C’.” Colin’s date then said good night (but did give him a kiss on the cheek and her digits), which he apparently took as a success. He then sidled up to the bar to loosen up even more with his patient and the bartender. Later, while drunkenly gobbling down a second plate of spaghetti, he impulsively kissed Reva (after she challenged him to be spontaneous). She decided it was time to get him back to the clinic … after they had a moment about how happy she is to be alive.

A Colonel David Briggs from Washington had been directed by Wanda to track down Josh at Company to present him a medal that H.B. had been awarded, which through some oversight had never been delivered. Josh was incredibly moved, especially when he thought about Reva’s and Billy’s reactions, although he was angry that he wouldn’t be able to share it with Reva. He broke down and dialed her number, but Cassie showed up before Reva answered, so he hung up and asked his sister-in-law to stay. Cassie caressed the medal and comforted Josh, who was really missing his dad. They shared a close moment where it looked like they might kiss, but she pulled away and brought his attention back to the medal and its display case. He hung the medal around her neck “to see how it looks” and said he was glad they weren’t French, or else he’d have to kiss her on both cheeks. Yeah, that would be really awful. Cassie brought up Reva, and how she’s the only thing missing from Josh’s success. He said he doesn’t miss his wife and he’s “really glad” to have had the moment with Cassie instead.

Ava was clearly sore with Buzz for “stealing” Olivia from Frank, who confronted Liv about it himself. Olivia insisted that she’s close with Buzz, but she really wants Frank. She demanded to know who’d been poisoning his mind against her, then realized it herself: “Oh, that lying skinny google-eyed bar wench!” she spat. Said wench was admitting as much to Buzz, who confessed that he still has a thing for Olivia. Later, Olivia showed up at Company, claiming she wasn’t angry and slyly suggesting that Ava shouldn’t feel guilty about “whatever happens” between Frank and Buzz. When Ava called her on the passive-aggressive manipulation, Liv awesomely called her a deer in the headlights, too stupid to be worried, and advised her to think about losing Coop before she meddles again. Buzz and Frank had it out in an awkward scuffle on roof at the same time. Frank finally told his Pop that he loves Olivia, but if Buzz does, too, then he should stop lying and go for her.

Jonathan isn’t scared of Alan, and told him so. “You’re not smart, because if you were, you’d know that I don’t waste my time scaring people,” warned Spaulding before leaving. At the hospital, an incredulous Lizzie gave Tammy a great big hug for offering her help in the form of birth coaching. Jonathan arrived, sent Tammy away, then roughly grabbed Lizzie by the wrists and warned her that if the Spauldings go after Tammy, “things are not gonna work out too good for you and the little one.” Lizzie responded with a whining freak-out about how everyone hates the baby. He grabbed her around the waist to calm her down, then stopped everything when he felt the kid move. Lizzie noted that the baby’s always kicking, which made Jonathan a little giddy. The mood drastically lightened, they joked about parenting skills and whose looks the baby will inherit before parting ways rather amicably. Meanwhile, Tammy was dealing with her vexing college (she’s lost her spot for fall) and financial troubles when Alan showed up. He first smooth-talked her about being a sensible girl (“If I were sensible, why would I be with Jonathan?” she responded kind of self-deprecatingly), then got down to business: All of their troubles are “just a taste of what [he] can do … Get him to back off while he still has something to lose.” Once Jonathan came home, it didn’t take long for him to get Tammy to admit that Alan had been by. She then worriedly looked on as a seething Jonathan took off to attack Alan’s “weak spot” —which involved bringing Lizzie flowers.
