At the police station, Harley informed Gus that she was ovulating and told
him they needed to leave to make a baby; they sneaked off. Gus thought about
what the doctor told him about being sterile, but still didn’t tell Harley.
Later, Harley rambled about what colors they should paint the nursery. Gus
told her she was jumping the gun and asked her if she really wanted to be
having sex all over the place. “I’ll make a baby any which way I can!” she
exclaimed. Gus got upset when he found out that Rick was with Harley’s boys
at a father/son day, but when she asked what was wrong, he assured her it
was nothing. Frank informed Harley and Gus that Sydney, the abandoned baby
they rescued a while back, was now without a guardian because her
grandmother had died. They quickly ran out to check on her and a social
worker told them she’d be placed in foster care; Gus was shocked. Later in
private, Gus made a call to the social worker disguising his voice as the
foster father saying he would be there shortly to pick up Sydney. When the
social worker stepped out Gus took Sydney, unnoticed.

On Main Street, Mallet and Dinah ran into each other. Mallet picked up a
bouquet of flowers but told Dinah they weren’t for her so she went into
typical Dinah-mode, looked suspicious and turned to follow him. Dinah saw
Mallet at Company and was confused when Vanessa showed up to meet him.
Mallet gave Vanessa the flowers and thanked her for putting THE LAW on the
air. Dinah called him out for bribing her mom for the last time slot
available on the network. Vanessa joked that she loved the attention and
would take bribes. The two vied for Vanessa’s attention and pushed their
shows. Mallet sarcastically bantered that Dinah’s gossip-fueled
“infotainment” show was a great idea because exploring the deeper meaning of
names like Suri and Shiloh and debating the merits of a Jessica and Nick
reunion was exactly what Springfield needed!

Later, Ashlee brought a file to Dinah that revealed everything about THE
LAW, but Mallet caught them. He inquired where and how they got the
information. Dinah said she wasn’t hiding anything and Mallet began to look
into the file but threw his hands up, said he was a real cop not a TV cop,
and left for work. Dinah concluded that he was hiding something and Ashlee
agreed.

Reva, Cassie, Billy and Josh met at Towers. They discussed the fact that
they still didn’t really know where Jon and Lizzie were. Alan arrived with
Lillian and Beth at his side. Alan chided Josh for his performance at the
courthouse that ruined his chances of getting custody of the baby. Then he
made a cheap shot at the Lewis family. Reva mused that she didn’t think Alan
really wanted to start talking about family history. The Spauldings and the
Lewis’s began to quarrel just as Jon and Lizzie entered with the baby. Alan
demanded to know where they had been. Everyone else was happy to see them
back. Jon told Alan he heard about what happened in court and to stay away
from the baby, which they decided to name Sarah. Meanwhile, Remy found Tammy
while she was studying and told her he was taking her to lunch. She whined
then reluctantly followed him to Towers where they saw Jon and Lizzie.
Surprised, Tammy asked Remy how he knew they were there and he informed her
he was the one who found them; Jon and Tammy gazed at each other. Tammy held
baby Sarah and shared a moment with Jon after she told him she was glad they
were back. When it was Reva’s turn to hold the baby, she teared up and said
she was sad that her granddaughter Susan wasn’t there during her cancer. Alan
interrupted and snapped that Jon couldn’t keep Sarah away from half of her
family. Jon summoned Remy over, who served Alan with a restraining order
forcing him to stay 50 feet away from Sarah. Jon said he was through being
nice. Alan grabbed him by the throat and told he’d he’d be very sorry. Jon
left with the baby, while Lizzie stayed to have lunch with Beth.

Back at Cross Creek, Reva told Jon the cabin was a great place to raise a
baby and asked him what it was like to see Tammy earlier. He said it was
hard. “I don’t know what sucks worse, missing her while being away or
missing her while being in the same room,” he said. Then he told her Lizzie
and Sarah were his life now. Josh gave Jon props for being a good dad.

Back at Towers, Tammy and Cassie discussed Tammy’s feelings for Jon now that
he was back. Cassie said Jon clearly loved Tammy, and it was obvious by the
way he looked at her. Tammy commented that she needed to stop obsessing and
didn’t understand why Lizzie didn’t look happy even though she got
everything she wanted. Meanwhile, Beth and Lizzie ate dinner and Beth asked
if everything was okay. Lizzie cried and Beth assured her that sometimes new
moms get “the baby blues.” Lizzie said she thought that Jon would fall in
love with her after the baby was born, but it didn’t happen. He was her
husband, but he still wasn’t really hers. Beth reminded Lizzie she knew what
she was getting into when she married Jon; Lizzie agreed and said Sarah was
her best “trick in the book” for making Jon love her. She loved Sarah, but
also loved what Sarah could do for her, too. Tammy overheard, was appalled
and then wondered if Jon and Sarah could do better without Lizzie.
