Jax dropped by Elizabeth’s and asked if they could reach a compromise regarding custody of her unborn baby. She allowed him in. They both apologized for their short tempers, and Liz said Jax should be in his child’s life. Liz then reminded him that if they share joint custody, Lucky will be the child’s stepfather and the men need to get along. Lucky came home and barked at Jax. Lucky said if Jax loved the child, he should stay away. Of course, Jax wouldn’t hear of it, then politely left. Lucky warned her that they can’t trust Jax. Ever the voice of reason, Liz said she could never keep a child away from its parent, and begged him to be a positive force in the baby’s life, as well. Just then, Lucky touched her stomach as the baby kicked.
At Wyndemere, Nikolas and Courtney cuddled and kissed, while at Sonny’s, Emily moped. But, she was a good sounding board for him as he worried about Carly’s condition. During their pillow talk, Nikolas had a flashback of a snowball fight with a young Emily. He and Court admitted that even though they enjoy being with each other, it’s still awkward when they’re out in public. Nik decided to put that to the test and suggested going to eat at Kelly’s. There, of course, they bumped into Emily and Michael. Mikey called the cheaters “jerks” and walked away from them. (Guess they should have ordered in.) Nikolas told Emily that Michael’s disrespect comes from Sonny. Em played peacemaker and said she’d talk to Michael, then walked off. At the pier, Nik and Court hugged, and Court told Nik that she knows he’s still in love with Emily, even though he denied it. He then grabbed her and they kissed.
In the park, Jason’s mob instincts kicked in when he framed an unconscious Ruiz in the shootings, while Ric went into shock at what he’d done. Ric and Reese showed up and announced the Ruiz and his two henchmen were dead. Sonny was glad to know Jason was back. (Guess again, Sonny!) Mac and Durant arrived the park, and Durant recognized the shooting as payback for the shooting at Sonny’s house. Back at their penthouse, Jason covered their tracks, and vented to Sam that he can’t believe what he did. Meanwhile, Sonny was furious to learn that Ric planned to kill for him. Though touched, he said Ric’s out of his league, so stay out or else he’ll get hurt. The cops showed up at Sonny’s to take him downtown for questioning. While Reese and Ric hid, Sonny obliged the cops and left with them. Across town, Mac arrived. He noticed the fire in the fireplace, but the evidence Jason threw in had already burned. Sam asked Mac not to take J down, but Mac insisted and said he’d see that Jason got his meds during questioning. Mac also shared that Ruiz, though in grave condition, survived the shooting.
At the PCPD, Durant questioned Sonny and Jason. Durant told Jason that Sonny used him as a pawn after his accident and asks him to break free from Sonny’s hold. Jason refused to say anything without a lawyer present. Sam showed up at Sonny’s and filled Emily in regarding the truth about the shootings. Durant released close-mouthed Jason, and Ric and Reese arrived to act as Sonny’s legal counsel. Ric got Durant to let Sonny go, but accidentally reopened his wound during their argument and keeled over. Back at the penthouse, Sonny arrived to strategize with Jason, but Jason refused to listen and stated he wanted nothing to do with Sonny ever again.
