Happy Thanksgiving from Soap Opera Digest and Weekly! Check back for your recaps on Monday.

At her old studio, Elizabeth checked on wounded Jason, who called out Sam’s
name. Liz urged him to go to the hospital, but he was determined that he
must find Spinelli. Jason also told Liz that the studio had been rented for
her, so she could stay there.

Before the Spencers’ early Christmas celebration, Luke found Laura gazing at
the decorated tree. Nikolas, Lulu and Lucky gathered with Luke and Laura for
a gift-exchange. Laura seemed a little out of it, and then clearly went
somewhere else mentally for a while. Luke tried to keep the holiday going,
but Laura asked him to call the doctor. Patrick arrived and sadly informed
the family that the outlook is not good: Laura will return to her catatonic
state soon. Laura announced that she was going back to Shadybrook while she
could still get their on her own, which prompted a teary outburst from Lulu.
Lucky asked his mom to spend one more night with them, but she gently argued
that she must go right then because her condition was quickly
deteriorating…. Patrick returned to G.H. and delivered the sad news to
Robin. When they were called into the ER, Robin asked Epiphany to let Mac
know she wouldn’t make dinner after all.

At the Q. manse, Emily observed that it was nice that they were going to
have a traditional family dinner and not pizza once again. When her kin
didn’t seem grateful, a peeved Em demanded that Alice give their dinner away to the needy, who might appreciate it. Emily then dropped by the studio and mentioned to Jason how much the Quartermaines miss him.

At Shadybrook, Luke broke the news to Lulu, Lucky and Nikolas that she’d
slipped away. Luke got through to her long enough for her to say good-bye
the kids. She asked for a moment with Nikolas. Laura assured him that she’d
always be with him and that if he ever wanted to know what she would say or
do, he should listen his heart. Next Laura had time alone with Lucky. She
praised his strength and predicted that he and Liz will work things out.
When Lulu came for her good-bye, Laura told her not to be afraid of love
when she finds it. Laura then haltingly said that she doesn’t think she
killed her stepfather, Rick, in self-defense and believes that she is
innocent. Lulu vowed to prove it.

Nikolas went to the Q mansion where the family was quibbling over their cold
pizza. He filled them in about Laura’s return to Shadybrook and a pall fell
over the room. But Monica received a call from Jason assuring her that he’s
alive and wishing her a happy Thanksgiving. She burst into tears. The Qs
were all moved by the call…. Lucky found Liz and told her about his mom.
She offered comfort and he thanked her for helping as much as she could with
Laura’s recovery. She asked if he had Thanksgiving Day plans. In the
meantime, Dillon checked on Lulu; Sam peered out her jail cell window, while
Jason gazed through a window at the studio and Patrick and Robin spent a
low-key Thanksgiving at G.H.

Back at Shadybrook, Luke sat alone with Laura. He sadly acknowledged that
there was no way he could keep her with him. He professed his love and said
he always will love her. Laura emerged from her state again to, say “I love
you. I want to stay with you” She noted that she couldn’t see where she was
going, but it was beautiful. “Nothing’s as beautiful as looking in your eyes
and knowing that we love each other, and always will,” she uttered before
slipping away for good. Luke kissed Laura and said he hopes her beautiful
place is a garden. A sobbing Luke broke down outside her room. Laura drifted
away and flashbacked to her first wedding to Luke.
