It was a new day in Port Charles. Emily visited a hungover Luke (who was wearing shades indoors) to ask how Laura forgave him for the rape. Luke clearly didn’t want to revisit his sordid past and shut her down. Later on, Emily and Nikolas discussed her post-rape trauma, he continued to be comforting and understanding. The duo visited the scene of the crime. She recounted the story of her assault to Nik, who set fire to the house, as she watched (Nothing says love like arson.)….
Sam was reluctant to take the pregnancy test because as she explained to Jason it would mean “I’m pregnant or I’m not.” (Okay, we know she read the directions.) Their cuddle was interrupted by Reese who was still yammering on that covering up for Michael was a bad idea….
At the jail, Carly told Sonny she had a plan: write a letter explaining that Michael killed AJ and then they’d all flee the country. Absolutely not, insisted Sonny. Carly stormed out. Sonny “confessed” to Ric and Reese that he strangled AJ, Ric didn’t buy it and later shared his suspicion with Reese that Michael is the killer….
Alexis underwent a sonogram with Kristina at her side. She was surprised when Ric showed up. They discussed the fact that he didn’t come home the night before. Ric said that while he wasn’t in a position to judge, Alexis wasn’t who he thought she was. She asked her husband to come home, but he said that wasn’t going to happen, “at least not today.” A while later, Durant stormed over to Alexis with the news that he’d been re-assigned to a desk job in Alaska and accused her of leaking his role in setting up Sonny. He threatened that Alexis would go to jail for embezzlement unless she helped him get Ric’s job….
Carly told Jason and Sam about her scheme to flee and asked Morgan to come with them while they got settled. She wondered why he wouldn’t commit. Jason has a life of his own explained Sam. Carly quickly deduced that Sam may be pregnant. “Baby or not, don’t try to talk Jason out of going,” warned Carly. Needless to say, Sam was miffed. After Michael awakened from a bad dream Jason informed him that Carly wanted to go on the run with Michael and Morgan. Jason was about to explain that Sonny “killed” AJ, but Michael had already seen a newspaper story. The tyke insisted that he wouldn’t leave town without his dad. Jason shared the news with Carly, who blurted that Michael can’t find out he killed AJ. Um, Carly, Michael is listening in.

Just released from jail, Nikolas showed up at the Q mansion and insisted that Emily talk to him. A teary Em told her husband that she loved him, but couldn’t stand the thought of being touched — especially by him because the resemblance to Connor was too much. Nik rejected her idea that they should divorce so that he could be happy. Nikolas assured her that he loved her and was willing to wait forever….
At the hospital, Courtney and Jax encountered a frantic Liz who brought Cameron to the hospital with a fever. Jax soothed Liz’s nerves, which impressed Court….
Carly found Jason who revealed that Michael killed AJ. After her initial resistance to the notion, she declared that her son would never know the truth. Reese came by and continued to stress that repressed memories would ultimately harm Michael. Carly and Jason didn’t agree. Finally, Reese figured out that nobody was going to listen to her and she left. Once they were alone, Jason admitted to Carly that Reese had made “a few good points.”… Rick and Alexis clashed over her efforts to bring down Sonny. She explained that she tried to get out from under Durant’s thumb, but Ric wasn’t buying it….
Lucky told Luke he did the right thing by pursuing Helena. The men bonded over shots of Tequilla. Nearby Skye, made a show of fawning over Lorenzo, but Luke and Lorenzo both recognized that it was an act. Skye and Alcazar talked about having to compete with Sonny and Laura. Luke noticed when Skye made an obvious exit with Lorenzo. After one commercial, Luke and Lucky seemed drunk (lightweights) and Lucky urged his dad to go after Skye. Nikolas walked in and berated Luke for drawing Emily into his scheme to get Helena. Not understanding what was going on, Luke got mouthy about Em not wanting to be with an ex-con and Nikolas lunged for him. Connor raped Emily, blurted Nikolas. Emily ran up to reign in her husband and told him she wanted her life back and she wanted him….
Jason returned home to Sam and explained that Sonny confessed because Michael killed AJ. “Are you sure? ” said Sam way too casually. Jaded much? Sam figured out that the romantic dinner they shared was Jason’s way of saying good-bye because he had planned on “confessing” himself, but Sonny beat him to the punch. Sam had a secret to reveal too: she might be pregnant.

Sonny (still sporting that unfortunate running suit) lamented to Jason that he is the one who taught Michael how to be a killer and talked about the importance of family….
Jason went home to find Sam putting together a new sound system for him. He romanced her with imported beer and Chinese food. (Mmmm scallops.) Jason kept the loving’ feeling going by pulling out the star necklace and putting it around Sam’s neck. They kissed and Jason said that Sam has given him peace and contentment. She said she felt the same way. The duo got horizontal and then Jason left on “business.”….
Carly declined Lorenzo’s offer to go on the run with him and her sons explaining that she couldn’t take the boys away from Sonny. Lorenzo didn’t take it well and criticized her “insane loyalty to Sonny.” Carly insisted that Sonny would always be a part of her life. The argument was interrupted by a call from Sonny asking to see Carly. She bolted over to find the aroma of Sonny’s marinara sauce and him opening a bottle of bubbly. Corinthos (who had changed into a sharp suit) explained that Carly needed to be celebrated. Carly admitted that they had a connection she didn’t think she’d find anywhere else, “like two hearts moving as one.” Sonny pulled her into a slow dance and then treated her to candle-lit dinner. Afterwards, they said a wistful good-bye….
Luke, Lucky and Mac rescued Emily from Helena and assured her that Nikolas would be released from jail shortly. Emily was pensive….
Helena was hauled to the station where she and Luke engaged in the usual disturbing semi-flirtatious banter. Ric questioned Helena about who might have stolen the money. Meanwhile, Durant gave Alexis a $500,000 check to deposit back into the Cassadine account. Just then, an unseen Ric walked in. After Durant left, Ric accused his wife of being the “mysterious benefactor,” who’d been offering money to bring Sonny down….
A freed Nikolas was disappointed that Lucky and Not Emily came to get him….
A sulking Lorenzo ran into Skye, whom he offered a drink. She informed him she’s sober. They commiserated over their romantic woes and he tossed back drinks. Luke walked in and snarked that he was glad Skye wasn’t losing any sleep over him….
Carly headed over to Jason’s apartment to find out what was up with Sonny’s behavior and she and Sam compared notes over the men’s sudden yen for romance. At the same time, Sonny showed up at the police station and “confessed” to killing AJ.

While Sonny (unfortunately not a very dapper don in a running suit — please, tell us that is not velour) rejected Reese’s theory that Michael killed AJ, a tearful Monica revealed to Jason that she saw the boy do the deed and covered for him. Carly, meanwhile, assured Michael that she did not kill AJ and he said he believed her. Cary went on to explain to Michael that AJ lied to him and that she could never be mad at him. Michael told his mom that he loves her. Carly rushed to tell Sonny that she had gotten through their son and then smugly informed Reese that all he needed was his mother. After Carly left to talk to Justus, Reese warned Sonny that Michael might be suppressing memories. Sonny ordered Jason to tell Reese that Michael couldn’t be guilty and was stunned when he reported that Monica spotted the boy in AJ’s room. Reese warned that suppressed memories would hurt Michael in the long run, but her advice fell on deaf ears….
Ric wrestled with putting Michael on the stand, while Alexis urged him that he could do it in a way that’s less traumatic to the child. Ric made noises about conflict of interest, which has never been an issue in P.C. before, but thanks for the shout-out to jurisprudence. Eventually, Ric came around to Alexis’s way of thinking. Later on Durant instructed a disgusted Alexis to keep the pressure on Ric, but she walked away….
Luke assured Skye, Lucky and Mac that he had a tracking device following Helena so that Emily was safe. Too bad the bug failed, but neither did Helena’s tendency to yap during critical moments. Cassadine trained a gun on Emily and embarked on a long speech about how nice it would be to kill her and blah, blah, blah, which gave the captive time to easily overtake her. Even with a knife to her throat, Helena kept it up with the jabber and pushed Emily by suggesting that the rape victim had really wanted Connor and that she’d never be happy with Nikolas. Emily drew strength from visions of Nikolas urging her on. Either that or Nikolas was in his cell talking to himself and they had some kind of psychic connection. In any case, between the visions and Helena’s rambling, help arrived in time to save Emily….
Justus filled in Carly on his failed effort to get the therapist to deem Michael unfit to take the stand. Lorenzo sidled up and whisked Carly away. He later presented her with fake IDs so that she and Michael can flee the country with him. He tried to entice her with talk about his rented villa on the coast of Venezuela and they ended up in a kiss.

As Helena tried to usher Emily out of the hospital under gunpoint, Luke trained his own gun on the menacing matriarch. In front of several witnesses, Emily urged Luke to shoot. “Do something,” ordered Tracy but Luke had his own plan and let Helena disappear into the elevator. Helena demanded 15 mil as ransom but Tracy claimed she didn’t have the funds. Luke suggested that she borrow it but Skye entered with Alcazar and announced that he had the ready cash. Skye thanked Alcazar for helping. “Call me a sucker for a beautiful woman,” he smiled. After he left, Luke berated Skye for trying to make him jealous. Helena then called for her money and ordered Luke to be alone when she they meet. When she arrived, Mac was also present to see for himself that Helena was still alive. She threatened to have Emily’s throat slashed if she wasn’t allowed to leave and Mac obliged. After Helena was gone, Luke announced that the bait had been taken….
The prison guards roughed up Nikolas after he tried to escape. Nik begged to make a phone call but the warden ordered Cassadine be locked up in solitary confinement instead….
Durant and Alexis hoped that when Ric subpoenas Michael, Sonny would jump in to protect the boy by falsely confessing to A.J.’s murder. Durant warned he would have Ric disbarred if he fails….
An enraged Carly reamed Ric for his determination to have Michael testify in court against her. Jason escorted Carly outside so she could calm down. Sonny asked his brother to just tear up the subpoena but Ric refused. “Any pain Michael feels from here on out is on your head,” Ric stated and walked out… Michael had a nightmare about smothering his dad. Reese came to Michael’s side and tried to get him to open up. Later, she informed Sonny, Carly and Jason that Michael was too emotionally fragile for a visit from his mother. Carly turned her nose up at Reese’s advice and visited her son anyway. “My love for you will never, ever end,” Carly told Michael and they embraced. Meanwhile, Reese confided in Sonny that she thinks Michael killed A.J….
Monica summoned Jason to the hospital and then revealed that she saw who murdered A.J.
