Sonny phoned Emily and asked if they could meet, as Carly commented to Em, “Wow, look at that smile. You must have gotten some good news.” Em covered her conversation, to not tip off Carly that she was talking to Sonny. The lovers planned to meet later at the guest house, then hung up. At Sonny’s, Michael and Morgan were all ready to go to Carly’s for the night, and Sonny headed to the hospital for a check up.
At their apartment, Alexis told Ric she doesn’t want to approach the child she gave up for adoption, but would like to know what happened to her. Ric told Alexis he’d need info to start the search. She said Mikkos took care of everything, and said she never informed the baby’s father that she’d gotten pregnant. Ric suggested starting with the clinic where she gave birth. As Ric surfed the Internet, Alexis endured Survivor’s guilt because she got the antidote and Danny didn’t.
Grieving Sam told Jason that she wished she had some pictures of her and her deceased brother, Danny, as children. Then she dropped the bombshell that she’s adopted. She questioned her entire life, stating, “I don’t know who I am … my life has been a lie.” Jason suggested searching for answers, but Sam refused. She said she’s afraid to find out about her past. She then got ready for Danny’s memorial. At the cemetery, Sam silently cried and recalled Danny’s last words to her during the short, simple ceremony. Afterward, Sam told Jason that Danny and her deceased baby girl are now together. Jason concurred. Unbeknownst to them, Alexis arrived with Ric in order to lay flowers on Danny’s grave. Ric told his wife that she must let go of her guilt. Sam shared beautiful sentiments alone at Danny’s grave when Alexis approached. Sam stood, glared at her and spat, “How dare you show up here when you killed my brother.”
At the cemetery, Maxie found Nikolas after his car hit black ice on the road and spun out. (He suffered cuts on his forehead.) He lamented to Maxie about his behavior at Courtney’s memorial, and Maxie offered sage advice about seeking closure. He noted that Court doesn’t have a grave; she was cremated. Maxie brought Nikolas to the hospital to be examined, just as Sonny arrived and caught Emily and Nik together. Sonny covered his jealousy and went ahead with his appointment. Carly apologized to Sonny for her jealous behavior regarding Emily and told him she’d be backing off. (If she only knew…. ) Maxie waited for Nikolas and once he was bandaged, he thanked Maxie for her advice and said he had an idea to get come closure.
Robin paid Jax a visit and got to meet his son. Jax gave Carly credit for helping out, shocking Robin. Robin warned him that Carly is not to be trusted. “Carly is No. 1 in her life and always will be,” scoffed Robin. “There’s no one who can get under my skin like that woman.” Jax spoke up in Carly’s defense, saying he believed her motives with John are genuine.
Patrick noticed Noah’s condition was deteriorating. Later, he chastised Robin for returning to work, saying if anything happened to her, it would make him look bad. After he updated Robin on Noah’s condition, he asked her to talk to his dad about going through with the liver transplant. She was surprised by the request. Noah overheard and he and Patrick got into an argument. Noah stormed off.
Bobbie told Carly that it’s still hard after Tony’s death, but she’ll get through it. In a clever yet cheesy plug for, “the Academy Awards on ABC,” Carly teared up when she told her mother she was going to call Courtney to watch the Oscars, but couldn’t. Bobbie volunteered to come over in Courtney’s place to watch the show and critique the dresses with her. Carly said yes and thanked her mom. She then went to visit Jax and baby John. Realizing she was going to be late picking up the kids, she called Leticia to let her know. Jax told John that they were both very lucky to have Carly in their lives.
At the guest house, Sonny and Emily embraced. Though they hated their relationship a secret, they agreed to continue to do so. They started getting busy, just as Michael and Morgan approached the door.
