GH Recaps Week of April 18, 2005

“I started this trainwreck the night I got drunk and slept with AJ,” bemoaned Carly to Sonny. Sonny and Carly feared AJ might kill Michael. Then, Jason called and told them Michael’s at the Q mansion. Emily rescued Monica from the basement freezer. Monica sought Jason out and begged her son not to kill his brother. He refused to make that promise….

Jax took Courtney to the Dominican Republic to finally get a her divorce from AJ. As they waited for their attorney, Jax wanted Court naked, but she insisted they wait for their wedding night. A beautiful woman from Jax’s past, their attorney, showed up and kissed Jax. She irritated Court by calling her ‘Cory’ (And us by calling Jax ‘Jaxie.’) Jax sent Court to the pool to ‘”Have two drinks” while the attorney fudged some facts so they could get the divorce. She had three and came back smashed. Jaxie admitted that while they had slept together years ago. Court said no wedding until he offered her a list of all the women he slept with, then threw a pad at him and said ‘Start writing!’ Jax made two, in alpha and chronological order, but Court ripped it up and apologized….

Durant told Reese there are others out to stop Sonny, and admitted to her that he’d resort to illegal methods to nail Sonny. Reese said, ‘Gotcha,’ since she was wearing a wire. Ric arrived and said Durant’s as big a menace as Sonny. They threatened him with the tape, but he said their ploy would never stick….

Em came face to face with AJ, saying, “I mourned the loss of my brother and looking at you, I still do.” Their argument caused AJ to raise a fist to Em. Alan stopped AJ, who started to lose it. AJ pulled a gun on his kin, and when Alan walked away, AJ shot his father in the back. Em called an ambulance….

Sonny and Carly track their to the Q boathouse. They told Michael the truth about AJ’s brainwashing and professed their love. Michael almost fell for it, but ran off. Jason confronted AJ in the Q mansion. Would AJ kill his own brother? We’ll never know, since Sonny, Carly, Michael, Monica, Reese and Sam burst in. The men struggled. Jason got the gun away from AJ, and the two tumbled over the foyer balcony.Thursday, April 21, 2005
Carly was overjoyed to see Michael, but he wanted nothing to do with her. Michael ran off, and AJ appeared with a gun to prevent Carly from running after him. After a nasty confrontation, Lorenzo restrained Carly from attacking AJ….

Jason found a clue in the attic, leading him one step closer to finding Michael and AJ. Emily told Monica she suspects Alan is aiding and abetting AJ. At the mansion, Monica was aghast to see her firstborn alive and standing in front of her. She offered him a tearful hug, but the warm and fuzzies didn’t last long. AJ pointed out that Monica always loved Jason more, and he asked her, for once in his life, to “Choose me.” Torn, Monica didn’t have a chance to because Alan grabbed her and locked her in the cellar, which Emily showed up just in time to witness….

Rachel tried to convince Steven that AJ played her. He was mildly sympathetic….

Reese filled Sonny in on how AJ brainwashed Michael, leaving Sonny outraged, then saddened when faced with his own spotty parenting history. A tearful Carly arrived and confirmed that Michael thinks they don’t want him anymore. Jason went to Skye and pressed her for info. She didn’t spill, until she learned that Michael was alive and AJ had him. Michael hotfooted it over to Sonny’s, and caught Sonny and Carly in a warm moment with Morgan, confirming the boy’s fears that he was no longer a part of their family. Michael returned to AJ….

Reese and Ric compared notes, and believed that Durant was responsible for the car bomb blast. Reese wore a wire and confronted Durant with the accusation as Ric listened in.Wednesday, April 20, 2005
Jason and Sam went to Italy where they found AJ’s bodyguard, who spilled that AJ took Michael to Port Charles. In record time (um, a day), they made it from the Bahamas to Italy and back to the States to fill in Carly. Sam told Carly about Michael’s letter to Jason. Though shocked, Carly had time to get jealous of Sam’s tight relationship with Jason….

At the hospital, Jason asked Monica for her help in tracking down AJ and Michael. Monica accused Alan of knowing more than he’s saying. (He does, but it’s not often Alan is accused of that!)….

In the Q attic, AJ told Michael all they needed was their fake IDs and then they’d take their around-the-world trip. While AJ was busy shocking Skye with his sudden re-appearance, Michael found a newspaper clipping about the memorial playground in his honor and snuck out to swing on his own swing….

Lucky and Liz made love in his old, shabby room at Kelly’s. They hinted around at living together, but Liz nixed the idea in the bud….

A shaky Carly let her guard down with Lorenzo….

Edward enlisted Dillon, Georgie and Brooke Lynn’s help to persuade Emily to move back into the mansion in order to persuade Monica not to sell it out from under the family. Em delighted Monica with the news that she’s moving back in. (But it’s really just to go along with Jason’s plan. Shhh!)….

Ric ran into Dr. Winters who just returned from Hawaii (she and Monica talked about having a much-needed girls night out, but we digress….)

Anyway, Ric was shocked to learn that Alexis has been lying to him about seeing the shrink. And boy, was he pissed at the missus….

Dillon used the word “ebullient” in a sentence….

Carly saw Michael on the swing. She thought she was hallucinating again, but Lorenzo told her that he saw Michael, too.Tuesday, April 19, 2005
AJ and Alan had a happy homecoming, well except for the fact that AJ faked his and Michael’s death and is now on the run from both Jason and the law. Alan, however, was so happy to see that his son and grandson were alive that he agreed to hide them in the attic. AJ gave Michael yet another false story about the hideout, but after Michael heard Dillon and Georgie discussing Michael’s “death,” the boy stated to grow a little suspicious….

After Sonny and Carly bickered about whether or not she was upset at seeing him in bed with another woman (In all fairness, she posed a good arguement, but Duh!), they hightailed it over to the Q’s to confront Alan and Monica about their missing kin….

Stuck at Sonny’s house with a finnicky Morgan, Reese initially wanted nothing to do with the child, until she gave in to her maternal instincts and told the tot a story that echoed her own real life….

Finally, Ric caught Alexis in a fib — though she’d raved about how great her therapy sessions have been, he found out her doctor has been out of town. Uh oh.Monday, April 18, 2005
AJ spotted Jason and Sam in his villa, and managed to whisk Michael away from them without being discovered. While searching the premises, Sam found a letter Michael wrote to Jason, which revealed that AJ told the boy that Sonny and Carly didn’t want him anymore….

On the hospital roof, Alan was shocked to hear from Courtney and Jax that AJ is alive, and admitted that he was actually contemplating suicide by jumping. Downstairs, Monica was shocked, and furious, with Alan’s behavior. Alan and Monica quarreled over whether or not AJ could pull off such a horrific scheme. Later, Court reflected on what a sap she was to have married AJ, but Jax remained supportive of her. While having a belt at the mansion, Alan got the shock of his life when AJ arrived on the patio with Michael….

Durant quizzed Alcazar about Maria’s whereabouts, but Lorenzo wouldn’t budge. Lorenzo then told Ric that Durant was responsible for Diego’s arrest and squeezing Maria for a confession. Durant then went to the confessional to dig up more answers on who he’s secretly in cahoots with….

Carly got a new look (Jennifer Bransford took over the role today from Tamara Braun). She caught Sonny and Reese in bed and ran out, tripping the alarm. Max told Sonny that Carly was there. Sonny figured out what she saw. Carly turned to Lorenzo for help in locating Michael. “I didn’t get to tell Sonny [that Michael is alive],” Carly told Alcazar. “He was too busy having sex with Agent Marshall.” Lorenzo said that if he and Carly have any kind of future together, it can’t be because she wants revenge against Sonny. Meanwhile Reese told Sonny going through with sleeping together would be a mistake….

Rick arrived at Sonny’s and discovered that’s where Reese has been hiding. Sonny went to confront Carly, who called him an idiot for sleeping with a fed. True, but jealous much?
