As soon as AJ heard Court’s voice he hung up. Too late, the damage had been done. Courtney was now positive AJ is alive. “You recognized his voice from one word?” Jax doubted. (Um, yeah, she was married to the guy.) Mac came into the equation, and he wasn’t convinced either. But later Courtney informed Sam, Jason and Carly that AJ was very much alive. Ding, ding, ding, we have a winner! Light bulbs went off in all three of their heads: AJ was the rich guy from Port Charles that has Michael. It was all a set-up. After finding a depressed (and drunk) Alan, Courtney shared her discovery with him as well and let him know his son was alive.

Durant assured Carly that he didn’t steal Michael and the two argued about Sonny. Sam and Jason decided to plan a family of their own. Monica called the Q family together for a little meeting and a big announcement. She was putting the mansion on the market. Normal Quartermaine pandemonium followed. Frazzled after revealing himself to Courtney, AJ planned his next move with Michael. He wasn’t fast enough though, because Sam and Jason were on his trail.

Sonny and Reese had a heart-to-heart about the death of Reese’s son and her job as an FBI agent. Reese had a request of Sonny: Stop smiling. “How can a bad guy have dimples?” she explained. And with that she zeroed in on his lips. Just as the first layer of clothes come off, there was a knock on the door. It was Durant and the police, searching for Reese. Sonny, obviously more familiar with the law than Durant, demanded a warrant (which they didn’t have). B-bye, boys. Sonny and Reese picked up where they left off. However, there was another intrusion — a shocked Carly spied her ex making love with Reese. (Bye, Tamara!)

Reese awoke to Sonny by her bedside. “What happened?” she asked. Sonny filled her in on the details. Reese told Sonny that she thinks Durant may have had something to do with it. Durant’s ears must have been burning because he pranced into the room and tried to imply that Sonny had something to do with the bombing. Later, Jason found Durant alone in Reese’s room. “Are you here to finish the job?” he asked and the two squabbled. For those worried about the missing Reese, worry no longer. Sonny brought her to his compound to keep her safe from Durant. “Why?” Reese wondered. Easy. He was grateful and he wasn’t ready for her to walk out of his life. Plus, she’s hot. “Is this a game?” Reese wondered. “It’s the truth,” he assured her. They shared a lip-lock.

Courtney told a bewildered Jax she wanted to wait until they were married to sleep with him again. “This is a game, right?” he quipped. Nope, said Court. They shared a playful moment, but it was interrupted by a phone call from Rachel. She tried to convince Jax that AJ just called. He didn’t believe her and hung up on her. Courtney still had doubts, though. They headed back to the hospital just in time because AJ called again. This time Courtney answered and heard AJ’s much-alive voice. Wha-at?

Lorenzo confronted Durant about his suspicions that Carly’s papa has Michael. Durant denied the accusation, but Lorenzo wasn’t convinced. Lorenzo summoned Carly to meet him. He insisted again Durant was the one who had Michael. Time for Carly to speak with daddy dearest herself. “I need to know the truth,” she demanded from her father. “Did you steal my son?”

After AJ hung up on Rachel, he continued to manipulate Michael and enticed him with stories about fun vacations and schools as long as Michael stayed with him. The poor kid remained convinced his parents didn’t want him.

Elsewhere in Port Charles, Dillon apologized to Georgie, but she stopped him. It was him she was worried about… Alexis assured Ric their baby was fine… A new mom recognized Sam from her OB/GYN appointments and came up to her wondering how Sam’s baby was. Dead, she replied. (Open mouth, insert foot.) Sam had to relive the stillbirth, but thankfully Jason was there to comfort her. Wednesday, April 13, 2005
Courtney and Jax visited Rachel and demanded that if AJ was still alive she prove it. Rachel offered to call AJ, “If you heard his voice, would you finally believe he is still alive?” No luck for Rachel. The number was disconnected. But later in the episode — while Rachel was conveniently alone — AJ called and Rachel told him Court had been arrested for his murder.

Jax wondered why Courtney wouldn’t let this go and accept AJ is dead. Courtney informed Jason that Rachel killed his brother and they shared their worries about Carly until Durant interrupted. He told Jason he was the lead suspect in the attempted murder of Reese. If Jason testified against Sonny, though, Durant would offer him a “sweet deal.” Jason simply walked away. Jax took Courtney home to champagne and wedding plans.

Carly barged in on Sam and Jason needing to speak with Jase. Lorenzo didn’t take Michael. “He would never risk a child’s life trying to get what he wants,” Carly defended. (Obviously she’s forgotten he held her captive while she was pregnant with Morgan. Guess that bullet wound to the head still has lingering effects.) After her visit with Jason, Carly went back to Lorenzo’s where the two of them went over possible suspects and ways to find Michael. What about Durant? suggested Lorenzo. Carly didn’t think so. She told him that right now she was completely focused on her son, but once he was safe, she hoped Lorenzo would be there. He assured her he would be, and they kissed. Lorenzo left and found Durant. “I know exactly what you did,” he declared. Meanwhile, Jason and Ric discussed Durant and came to the conclusion that something’s fishy with him.

Ric joined Alexis at Kelly’s where she informed him she knew about the “b-o-m-b at S-o-n-n-y’s.” Alexis didn’t want Kristina to find out. (Smart Mommy…but what happens when Kristina learns to spell?) She then went to see a court-appointed therapist and explained her fears for her daughter’s safety. At Wyndemere, Liz and Lucky had a few sweet kissy-kissy moments. They were interrupted, though, when Liz found Emily’s divorce petition. Emily returned after having a chat with Sam (Ems assured her not to worry about Carly. Jason loved Sam.) and they confronted her about what she’s doing to Nikolas. Tuesday, April 12, 2005
Sonny cradled Reese in his lap after the Lily-esque explosion and begged her to hold on before she was transported to General Hospital. At the hospital Sonny ran into Carly and explained the explosion to his ex. Steven announced that Reese would be okay. Carly left and Durant ran in and grabbed Sonny by the neck. He had assumed that Carly had been in the explosion, not Reese. Ric was quick to break it up. Durant went off on Ric and then received a mysterious phone call and went straight to confession (but it didn’t seem like a typical Catholic confession). After a quick chat with Ric, Sonny went in to see Reese and told her he didn’t want her to go after all.

Tracy and Dillon had a typical mother-son lunch for them. Dillon quipped to his mom, “Do you know what a bad influence on me you really are?” when Tracy demanded to know why Dillon told Emily about Alan’s hit-and-run and threatened to not pay for film school. Georgie walked in and defended her beau and his actions, though Dillon’s mood didn’t change. Dillon explained he didn’t even want to go to film school anymore because he continued to blame himself for Michael’s death. Dillon blew up at Georgie and stormed out. Georgie revealed her worries about Dillon to her gal pal Brook Lynn.

Lorenzo deduced that Carly thought he may have kidnapped Michael. A hurt Lorenzo declared he was finished with Carly, left her teary-eyed and went home to his son. Diego demanded to know why his mother left again. Lorenzo explained Durant’s hand in his mother’s disappearance. He promised his son he would protect Maria. After her run in with Sonny, Carly went over to Lorenzo’s home. “I know I hurt you,” she apologized. A phone call interrupted the moment — a silent AJ was on the line. Unfortunately, he hung up and turned his attention back to a sleeping Michael who had tear tracks down his face. The young boy had cried earlier while he wished his memories would just disappear.

Lucky surprised Liz with evening plans, but she had to find someone to watch Cameron. (A mom on daytime who actually remembers she has a kid? Nice!) Emily saved the day, er date, and offered to watch the tot. While Ems was watching the baby, Skye walked up and grinned as she planned out Emily’s future with Nikolas and babies. Not going to happen, stated Emily. Skye tried to give her a mini-therapy session, but Ems jetted to take the baby home. Cut to Kelly’s where Lucky had the entire place reserved for Elizabeth. (Nice job on the lighting, Lucky. Looked like a high school prom, complete with a disco ball.) They shared memories, hopes and a kiss. Monday, April 11, 2005
Believing he has no home to return to, Michael returned to AJ. The father and son shared a touching snuggle. Surprisingly bright-eyed despite having been comatose, Rachel explained her connection to AJ to a shocked Courtney and Jax, just as Mac arrived saying the police found new evidence exonerating Courts. Durant suspected Reese purposely followed him to the church and told her not to bother with being pious as Sonny shared his suspicions about Reese to Jason and told Jason to skip town because “you’re no good to me if you’re arrested and tried for murder.”….

Carly came to Jason after Sam told her the good news about Michael being alive….Courtney and Jax gave Mac and Justus the skinny on what Rachel had been up to and it got Courtney off the hook. “Feel free to plan your wedding,” pronounced Mac. A relieved Courtney and Jax went off to do just that. “Dazzle me,” asked Courtney as Jax whisked her away to the park for a romantic dinner and a moonlight dance. There, they shared a “fairy tale moment” and Courtney promised to marry Jax “whenever and however you want.”….

Meanwhile, Carly talked to Jason about her visions of Michael and instead of telling her that he thought she was nuts, he concluded that Lorenzo was quite possibly the “rich guy” that Sam said that the hot cabana guy reported Faith was talking to on the phone. Carly looked at him like he was crazy, because there are a lot of rich guys in Port Charles who know how to use phones. As the Alcazar Theory sounded more and more plausible, Carly asked Jason not to tell Sonny and assured him that she would get to the bottom of it…with minimum chaos. She asked the perpetually pin-striped Lorenzo to meet her at the hospital. There, she fabricated a story about seeking therapy for her grief and an intense Lorenzo told her that he knew Michael was alive….

At Greystone, Ric pleaded with Sonny to be the best man he can be. Feeling a little old to join the Army, Sonny told Ric he wouldn’t move on from Michael’s death. Brushing off his half-brother’s warnings, Sonny looked up to see Reese at the gate. Sonny apologized for disrespecting Reese, but she didn’t seem to care that he saw her cute purple bra last week and went on to talk about how she has lost her objectivity on this case. “I am emotionally involved with you. And that’s why I’m letting you go,” she told him, handing over the tape that incriminated Jason and adding she was requesting a transfer….

At the hospital, Rachel’s cries of innocence fell on deaf ears as Ric pointed out there was concrete evidence. Mac arrested her. Jason debated packing some swim trunks as he made Sam promise to watch out for Carly and Carly’s crazy plans but then Sonny called, telling them that Reese had given up the tape and Jason wouldn’t need that beach vacation after all….

Hanging up with Jason, Sonny contemplated the tape and then tossed it into the fire. He walked out and followed Reese out the Greystone gates in stylized slo-mo. In Lily-like fashion, Reese looked back at him, longingly, and reached for the door handle. Was it deja vu? The car went kablooey in a shower of pyrotechnics and Sonny was thrown to the ground by the impact.
