GH Exclusive: Lydia Look Says Her Return As Selina ‘Just Feels Right’

After nearly a year-long absence from the Port Charles landscape, Lydia Look made her triumphant return to General Hospital as the imposing Selina Wu on Thursday, January 16. While Selina’s comeback may not be good news for Cody Bell, who has landed in her debt via his gambling, or for her not-quite-adoring nephew, Brad Cooper, it is most assuredly good news for fans. Soap Opera Digest checked in with Look over email to get the inside scoop on her latest GH endeavors.

 

Soap Opera Digest: Were you excited to get the call to come back?

Lydia Look: It’s always a treat and a gift to be summoned back by “the best show in daytime. ❤️’ ”

Digest: What did you miss about the show and the character of Selina?

Look: My fabulous boss babe outfits by the iconic Shawn Reeves [the head of GH’s wardrobe department].

Digest: What does it mean to you to know that fans of the show are excited to have you/Selina back?

Look: The GH fans are hands down the best fans in daytime ❤️💪🏼❤️. I adore them.  There’s no me without them.

Digest: It had been some time since you were last in the GH studio building. What did it feel like to walk through the doors again?

Look: So fun! I always feel this zing when I walk through the doors…. Like it’s your first day in high school and there’s many cuties checking you out! ❤️😝❤️

Is my intention set? ❤️💪🏼❤️ Check!

Is my silly grin spilling over 🤦🏿‍♀️ Check!

Is my outfit cute? Check!

Is my happy and grateful vibe just tucked under a tad (might be overpowering for others and not what they want) Check!

Digest: Who did you get to see/work with/catch up with on your first day back?

Look: I remember so many good hugs from my beautiful sisters & brothers from Hair, Make Up, Costume and Cast & Crew.

Digest: Was it easy to slip back into the character?

Look: Selina is always just around the corner for me.  She’s got my back.

Digest: What do you enjoy about playing such a powerful and fearless woman?

Look: It just feels right. It’s effortless.

Digest: We will be seeing more Brad/Selina scenes. Tell me about working with Parry Shen (Brad) again.

Look: There’s a certain camaraderie we share together.  It just is and I am so grateful for it.

Digest: What is fun to play about the Brad/Selina dynamic and relationship?

Look: It’s familiar. Like family. There is a lifetime of material and it’s all good stuff, every single barb and every little zinger lands with a double meaning.

Digest: You will also share scenes with Josh Kelly (Cody) this time around. What is he like to work with?

Look: Always a good time with Josh Kelly and I look forward to more, please.

Digest: Is there anything you would like to say to the fans?

Look: I love you all and thank you for having Selina Wu’s back always. ❤️💪🏼❤️
