Fan Fave Barr None!
Julia Barr‘s Brooke returns to ALL MY CHILDREN’s Pine Valley the week of Feb. 22. I talked to her about storyline (let’s just say Annie and Tempo are involved; see the Soap Opera Weekly issue on sale Feb. 19 for details) and a few more of her favorite things.
Soap Opera Weekly: Okay, I have to ask you: When are we going to see Brooke and Erica go at it?!
Julia Barr: [laughs] I can’t tell you exactly when, but I will say it’s going to be fairly soon. Susan [Lucci, Erica] and I are waiting to see that script. First and foremost is the storyline with JR — we have to get that semi-resolved. [You’ll] just have to wait a little bit.
Weekly: Have you noticed any differences with the show now being filmed in high-def? The makeup, sets — everything changes, right?
Barr: Right. The sets look similar; I think some of the furnishings are slightly different. But when you see them on camera [with the] actors in them, [it] is very different. The actors are much more defined and the makeup is very different. You wouldn’t necessarily know how different it is, but they have a crew that is well-versed in high-def makeup, because it is different in terms of skin tone and all of that. They want to make sure everybody looks as good as possible.
Weekly: Absolutely.
Barr: [laughs] As do we.
Weekly: The last time we spoke [in December], you were working on a Web soap project with Jill Larson (Opal). Is that still alive?
Barr: Yes. It’s been fits and starts, and it’s dependent on both of our schedules, but now that we’re both out here [in Los Angeles], we’ll have a little more time. In fact, we’ll probably have a meeting [soon]. There’s also something else that we’re attached to at the moment. The people who produced the teaser/trailer for our [Web] project are working on a comedy for the Web. But we have to wait and see the details; [how it] works out. So we have a couple of things that we’re working on.
Weekly: Promise that you’ll let us know when it all starts happening.
Barr: Don’t you worry. When all of that comes to fruition, we’ll be on the horn!
