Exclusive: Michael E. Knight On Joining GH

Comments

Michael E. Knight (ex-Tad, ALL MY CHILDREN) will make his GH debut next week in the role of Martin Gray. That news of his casting made headlines took him by surprise, but he says, “It means a lot, it really does. It’s incredibly humbling.” The gig came about when he reached out to an old friend, Executive Producer Frank Valentini, who worked with Co-Head Writers Chris Van Etten and Dan O’Connor to figure out the right character for the three-time Daytime Emmy winner. Recalls Knight, “Frank says, ‘Okay, we’ve got a guy named Martin’ — and I really thought he was screwing with me,” since that was Tad’s last name on AMC. “I was like, ‘Okay! Nothing like an inside joke with the audience!’ So, all credit seriously goes to Frank and huge, huge gratitude to Chris and Dan for making it happen.” For more on the actor, pick up the new issue of Soap Opera Digest, on sale now.
