EXCLUSIVE! JOSEPH MASCOLO TALKS ABOUT DAYS EXIT
In the new issue of Soap Opera Digest, on sale now, Joseph Mascolo talks about taking a bow as DAYS’s Stefano, who was killed on-screen on January 8. "I have gradually been cutting back on workdays and hours for some time now,” he tells Digest. "But last spring, I had a small stroke and during my rehab, I thought this would be a good time for Stefano to leave. The producers came and visited with me and we worked out a tentative plan and the writers beefed up the storyline to what you see on TV.” As for his final scenes, the actor notes, "When Stefano was shot by Hope, it was pretty dramatic.
