Judi Evans (Adrienne)

What were your first impressions of Wally Kurth?

“OMG! Those dimples! And he was a great actor!”

When did you first get a sense your pairing was working?

“From the first moment we had … there was just that ‘it’ chemistry.”

Why do you think this couple has been so successful and resonated with fans?

“Justin has always been the most romantic character in daytime history! Who wouldn’t want to be wooed like that? Plus, the girl from the wrong side of the tracks with a heart of gold/wealthy edgy/‘bad’ boy who wants a down-to-earth girl is a big draw.”

What do you think is the most difficult obstacle they’ve had to overcome?

“The cheating on both sides.”

What was your favorite supercouple storyline?

“When they met and began their romance.”

Favorite supercouple moment?

“The first wedding in Greece.”

Favorite wedding?

“The first wedding in Greece.”

Favorite wedding dress?

“The Greek wedding dress.”

Favorite interloper?

“Elsa! We got a lot of mileage from someone we never saw on camera!”

Favorite location shoot?

“Greece.”

Favorite thing about working with Wally Kurth?

“It’s impossible to pick a favorite since there are so many. Personally, he is an amazing friend, person, man, with a great heart and great sense of humor. Professionally, he is so talented, and comes to work with the best attitude all the time. He is so fun to be around.”

Wally Kurth (Justin)

What were your first impressions of Judi Evans?

“Judi was unlike anyone I’d ever met. She was brassy, funny, sexy. And she was — and still is — such an incredibly instinctive and natural actress.”

When did you first get a sense your pairing was working?

“I didn’t really think about that. I just did the work. We were so committed to the story. We had no hesitation. We just went for it. It wasn’t until Soap Opera Digest wanted to put us on the cover of the magazine that I thought, ‘Oh, I guess it’s working [laughs].’ ”

Why do you think this couple has been so successful and resonated with fans?

“The original love story of a guy really ‘stepping up’ and seeing all of Adrienne.  She was wounded when they met. But that didn’t scare him off. He showed courage. He loved her regardless. And it was courageous of her to allow herself to be vulnerable with a man. If you remember, she was dealing with a brutal sexual assault. And, I think we really commit to the work, as actors. I think the audience can tell we don’t pull punches. We come to work ready to go.”

What do you think is the most difficult obstacle they’ve had to overcome?

“Their beginning. They were both coming from such disparate pasts. That’s a lot to overcome.”

What was you favorite supercouple storyline?

“The romancing of Adrienne.  The songs, the picnics, the fireworks.  The Greek wedding! The Greek wedding night!”

Favorite supercouple moment?

“I remember one moment where we were kissing under a cloudburst. There’s nothing like getting drenched in fake warm rain.”

Favorite wedding?

“Definitely the first one at St. Sophia Church.”

Favorite wedding dress?

“Ahhh … all of them?”

Favorite interloper?

“I have to say Anjelica.”

Favorite location shoot?

“Greece.”

Favorite thing about working with Judi?

“She’s such a good person. Such a good soul. So generous. So warm to everyone she meets. Honestly, she’s a ray of light.”
