DAYS Star Promotes Alzheimer’s Awareness

Comments

Peggy McCay (Caroline, DAYS) is spreading the word about November's National Alzheimer's Disease Awareness Month. "I just taped a public service announcement for the Alzheimer's Association," she reveals. "It came about because of Caroline's story on DAYS. I was very honored to be asked. I have personal friends who are dealing with this because of relatives diagnosed with Alzheimer’s." Caroline’s struggle with Alzheimer’s has also struck a chord with viewers. "I just got a really heartbreaking letter from a fan whose mother has a full-blown case of Alzheimer's," she discloses. "He described what it is like to care for her. Alzheimer's affects the patient and family members. Often, family members can be left feeling helpless." There is support available at alz.org. To see the PSA, go here https://youtu.be/gPoqmG0ng2w.
