“They’re both alive,” Steve informed Billie after Stephanie and Max’s accident. Steve was reluctant to go to the hospital, believing he’d
only upset his daughter. Billie convinced him he had to. Stephanie needed her father. At the hospital, Grandpa Shawn comforted Kayla, who was distraught over Stephanie; then, went to check on Max. Seconds later, Max appeared and asked Kayla about Stephanie’s condition. Soon,
Dr. Berman came out and told Kayla she could see her daughter. “Is Dad here?” Stephanie muttered to Kayla, who sadly responded he wasn’t.
Billie and Steve arrived, much to Kayla’s surprise. Kayla explained that Stephanie had been asking for her dad, and Steve went in to see his
daughter. Alone with Kayla, Billie assured that she wouldn’t stand in the way of Steve and Kayla’s happiness, if Steve got his memory back.
At Stephanie’s bedside, Steve’s voice cracked as he admitted he knew nothing about being a father, but was willing to give it a try.
Stephanie just had to cooperate and get better. Moments later, Steve had a dramatic breakthrough. “Oh my God! I remember you,” he cried.
Lexie was stunned by Tek’s revelation that Abe was “dating” her because he thought she might have information about Eve’s murder and was responsible for the threats against the Brady family. “I will never forgive him for using our son like that,” said Lexie, excusing herself. Meanwhile, at the station, Abe and Roman discussed the evidence Abby
found in Max’s garage. They realized it ruled out Lexie and Patrick as suspects. Later, Abe showed up for his “date” with Lexie, who greeted
him coldly. “You son of a bitch,” she scolded. Abe realized he’d been busted, thanks to Tek. “How could you do it, Abe? How could you pretend that you wanted to come home to me and Theo?” asked Lexie. Abe admitted
he was wrong and proclaimed his love for Lexie. Lexie was reluctant to believe him. Abe begged for a chance to SHOW her, noting that he wasn’t
able to before, but could now.
In the courtroom, Cameron announced that Bo had a personal vendetta against Patrick: he was jealous of Patrick’s involvement with his wife, Hope. Patrick asked to speak and laid it on thick about Hope carrying his child and Bo being jealous and vowing to make him pay. Hence, the planned evidence. When Bo got his chance to speak, he admitted he didn’t like Patrick, but wouldn’t frame him for murder. Soon, new
evidence was presented to the judge: the note found in Max’s garage. It explained that Eve’s murderer was still at large and Patrick wasn’t
guilty. Roman noted that several details in the note led the police to uncover discrepancies that confirmed Patrick’s innocence. All charges against Patrick were dropped. Bo tried to explain to Hope that there was no indication the evidence against Patrick wasn’t real. Hope pointed out that Bo fell for it because of his hatred for Patrick. Bo tried to explain, but Roman summoned him away. Roman told Bo that the top brass at the station wanted him off this case. In the interim, Hope apologized to Patrick for doubting his innocence. Patrick insisted he
was good guy who would be a loving father to their child. Hope said that wasn’t something she could think about yet. Meanwhile, Mimi told Bonnie that she was going to end her surrogacy agreement with Philip and Shawn. Bonnie vowed there was no way she’d ever let Mimi do that.
Dr. Ross told Philip that the only treatment for Belle’s condition was to take her baby. After realizing he couldn’t risk losing Belle, Philip signed the consent form and Shawn agreed with his decision. Later, Belle awakened and was furious at Philip for allowing doctors to take her child. “Get out!” she screamed. Shawn comforted Belle, insisting that Philip had no other choice. Belle apologized to Philip, who asked for a moment alone with his wife. Later, Shawn returned to the loft to relieve Claire’s babysitter, but he couldn’t get Claire to stop crying. Philip returned home and wasn’t happy to see Shawn. He took Claire, and, of course, her tears disappeared. Philip thanked Shawn for helping out, and Shawn admitted what a good dad Philip was. As Philip went to
play with Claire, Shawn phoned Frankie and told him to drop the custody suit against Belle and Philip.
