John tells Kate he was SO close to getting Marlena to remember their love when Alex interrupted and announced that he and Marlena are in love. Kate can’t believe her ears and John reiterates that he’s sure Alex has Marlena under mind control. But John has a plan to counteract it. Actually, a person: Father Jansen. The priest arrives at the hotel suite. John talks to him and Father Jansen agrees to help.

At the penthouse, Marlena tells Alex she was having memory flashes at Alice’s. Alex says John was trying to plant “memories” in her mind. Alex tells Marlena the best thing she can do is divorce John, so she can be with him and be truly happy. Marlena doesn’t seem to be buying Alex’s brainwashing as easily as she used to. She tells him she wants to get ready for bed. Alex volunteers to make her a nice cup of chamomile (and SPIKED) tea. Marlena returns and starts sipping her tea, when the Swiss clock John gave her starts chiming and she remembers kissing John. Frustrated, Alex can’t understand why Marlena’s memories of John won’t disappear. Father Jansen arrives to talk to Marlena. Alex tries to get rid of him, but Marlena insists she wants to talk to him — alone. Marlena is deeply touched by the priest’s words about marriage and the sacred vows she and John made before God. Much to Alex’s dismay, Marlena announces that she can’t divorce
her husband. She has to be true to her wedding vows. Peeping John, who’s watching and listening via high tech ISA gear, is thrilled. He thinks he finally has Marlena back.

Jennifer picks up the book Jack dropped on the floor at the bookstore and is shocked to see it’s all about natural healing. Jenn’s thrilled, believing Jack wants to fight his terminal illness, and heads off to find more books. Frankie doesn’t buy any of it and wants to know what Jack is really doing there. Jack admits he doesn’t believe a diet/vitamin regimen is going to
help him but if it makes Jenn happy, he’ll do it. When Jenn returns, she tells him the salesman showed her the book Jack put on hold about grieving a loss. Jenn hugs Jack for being so thoughtful. Jenn hands Jack all the books she’s gathered up and tells him to pay for them, while she and Frankie get the car. The salesman fetches the suicide book Jack originally came to buy
from his father, but strongly voices his disapproval on the subject. However, Jack defends his decision to do whatever he can to spare Jennifer having to watch him die.

Shawn revives Mimi after she collapses. Mimi can’t believe she freaked out AND passed out when Claire started crying. It’s all because she was thinking about her abortion and the baby she doesn’t have. Mimi says Shawn must think she’s a horrible person and have no respect for her. Shawn disagrees. He says Mimi’s a wonderful person, who he truly cares about. Shawn takes Claire
upstairs to put her to sleep while Mimi tries to nod off on the couch. She dreams about mini good Mimi and mini bad Mimi. The mini Meems bicker about whether Mimi and Shawn would make a good couple. Mimi awakens and decides there is no future with Shawn because she’s a total loser.
