Nicole and Sami fought outside of Alice’s over Austin. Sami insisted she loved Lucas, not Austin. Nicole urged her to leave Austin alone. Inside, Lucas and Austin were at odds. Lucas explained he was tired of getting Austin’s castoffs. “You’re being ridiculous,” Austin said. Lucas said he was going to a better job at Titan than Austin ever would. Austin gently said they’re not in competition. This is about Sami, he announced. Nicole went back in and sat with Austin. She told him she missed him, then offered to buy him a drink. At the table, Nicole urged him to avoid getting sucked into Sami’s trap again. She challenged him to a game of pool. If I win, said Nicole, you come home with me. At the bar, Sami revealed to Lucas that Austin helped free Sami of all of the charged against her. Lucas was peeved and wished Austin had minded his own business. He then made it clear he was done with his ex.
Abby came home to the Deveraux home with Chelsea. Jack and Jennifer asked Chelsea to leave the room so they could talk to Abby. They broke the awful news about Jack’s illness. She was understandably devastated. She ran out and told Chelsea what was going on. Chelsea comforted her. Abby asked Chelsea if they could go for a ride.
John — with Kate in tow— went into Marlena’s penthouse, but she and Alex weren’t there. The doorman came up to see what John was doing there and explained that Marlena instructed him to keep John out. He also revealed that Drs. Evans and North went to dinner. At Chez Rouge, Alex wondered why Marlena seemed distracted. She said she didn’t have much of an appetite because of how she blew John off. They discussed the situation, and Marlena said that she might have made a hasty decision. John cares about me, she pointed out. Trust your gut, advised Alex. A vexed Alex drugged Marlena’s tea while she was in the powder room, but she wasn’t interested in drinking it. A gussied up John and Kate went to the restaurant. Kate warned him against going after Alex with guns blazing. Alex pointed out to Marlena that John seemed to be doing just fine without her, then asked her to dance. John watched them on the dance floor from his table. John took Kate for a twirl. Ask your wife to dance, Kate encouraged. John tried to cut in. Alex said no, Marlena is too tired. They went back to their table. “He acts like he owns her,” fumed John to Kate. Alex steered Marlena out of the restaurant. John forcefully stopped them.
