Bo asked John to help get him out of jail and convince Abe and Roman of his innocence. John said he was working on it. He knew Bo didn’t beat up Patrick; EJ did. John said he was heading to Italy to prove
there’s a connection between EJ and the DiMeras. Then, he asked Bo to cover for him with Marlena and NOT tell her he was working with the cops. Bo reluctantly agreed, and John left. Later, Marlena stopped by to see Bo and told him she didn’t buy John’s story about going to Italy on Basic Black business. She suspected he was heading there to investigate EJ. Marlena asked Bo for the truth. If he didn’t ‘fess up
and something happened to John, she’d never forgive him. Bo admitted that John’s trip to Italy was about finding the DiMeras.

Lexie arrived at Kayla’s to find her doing yoga and scolded her. It was too soon to be exercising. Kayla confessed that she suspected Steve was lying about getting his memories back to keep her alive, and she was determined to get to the truth. Kayla came up with an idea: taking
a vacation to a place she and Steve had been before to see if he really remembered their past. Again, Lexie thought it was too soon and insisted on accompanying Kayla on any trip. Kayla agreed, because if
Steve was lying, she’d need a friend to lean on.

While working in his office, Abe noticed the words blurred on the pages he was looking at. Tek walked in and bemoaned that he wasn’t having any
luck finding another job in law enforcement and asked Abe for a referral (!). Tek reminded Abe that, despite their personal issues, he was
a good cop. Abe balked, so Tek played his ace in the hole. The state contacted him on his thoughts about how Abe was handling things since the EJ debacle. Abe said the state wouldn’t listen to an ex-cop with hard feelings. Tek insisted they would, since he was a good cop let go for personal reasons. Abe agreed to have Roman write the
recommendation. Later, Lexie stopped by. Abe told her about Tek and that his eyes were getting worse. Lexie wanted Abe to see his doctor, but he said he couldn’t. It would give the mayor and his pals more ammunition against him; they’d insist he take medical leave to get rid of him. Lexie agreed to keep mum, for now, and chauffeur Abe to and from
work.

Steve arrived at Billie’s. She told him she was headed to the police station to see Bo, who had been arrested. Then, she noted that the picture Chelsea sent him meant nothing. Steve explained that he still
had feelings for Billie. He lied about regaining his memories to help Kayla. Billie told Steve that he needed to be with Kayla until she was
well enough to handle the truth. Then, she went off about how she wanted to be number one in someone’s life. She deserved it. Steve agreed, adding he just needed to see how she felt about him. Billie
confessed she still cared for Steve. He promised to make things right and asked Billie to trust him. Then, he returned home to Kayla, who
recounted how Lexie approved her getting away for a few days. She wanted to go to the mountains with Steve. Steve wasn’t keen on the idea. “If there is some reason that you don’t want to go away with me,
you can tell me,” urged Kayla. Steve insisted there was no reason and offered to make the arrangements. Kayla, who had a something special in mind, insisted she’d do it.

Later, Billie visited Bo in jail and apologized for the pictures Chelsea sent. Soon, the guard came to fetch Bo for his arraignment and he asked Billie to wish him luck. Billie said he didn’t need luck, he needed bail money. That’s why she was there.

Marlena surprised John by showing up on his jet just as he was about to leave for Italy. She said she wanted to go with John to catch the DiMeras, much to his chagrin. “Who told you?” he asked. “Nobody had to tell me. I knew,” responded Marlena, adding that there was no sense
trying to talk her out of this. She was going with John.
