Lucas surprised Sami at her apartment with doughnuts. They chatted about the previous day’s family outing at the amusement park and dinner at the Penthouse Grill. He praised Sami’s composure after Lexie tossed champagne at her. They were interrupted by a visit from EJ, who got the cold shoulder from Sami. She snarked at EJ about “sleeping with the enemy” and flung some of Kate’s lingerie at him. Lucas warned EJ not to touch his mother again and Sami kicked him out. Afterward, a green-eyed Lucas asked if EJ was good in bed. He was happy when Sami said they hadn’t slept together.
Dr. Bader recommended amniocentesis to Hope, but Patrick barked that it would be unnecessary. Meanwhile, at the station, Bo realized that Patrick’s police ID number was among the late Eve’s belongings. He gloated to Roman and John, then called Hope, who reported that she’s at the hospital with Patrick and had just had an ultrasound. Bo said he was just checking on Hope and hung up without divulging what he’d learned. Bo explained to Roman that he doesn’t want to do anything to endanger Hope’s baby and will wait for concrete evidence to nail Patrick.
In Kayla’s quarantine room, still-amnesiac Steve sat by her bedside and pretended to stroll down memory lane. From outside the quarantine room, Stephanie begged Steve for assurances that they will all be one big happy family again. In the meantime, a glum Billie told Kate that Steve has his memory back. Kate advised her daughter to end things quickly.
Billie made a beeline to the hospital to talk to Steve, who showed her the necklace he’d planned to give her. Billie said she couldn’t accept it because now that Steve has his memories of Kayla back, it wouldn’t be right. Before Steve could straighten things out, Stephanie entered and ran Billie off. Billie saw Hope in the corridor and volunteered that Bo’s offered her friendship and nothing more. She also confided about her plight with Steve, Hope was sympathetic.
Patrick privately demanded Dr. Bader perform Hope’s amniocentesis and “interpret” the results herself so that no one would find out that Bo sired Hope’s child.
As John and Bo monitored EJ’s apartment from the surveillance van, Kate dropped by. She told him that John warned her to steer clear of EJ. Bo was upset that Kate was foiling their investigation, but John smirked that it’s all part of his plan. John phoned EJ and invited him to the Grill for drinks. His interest piqued, EJ escorted Kate out and headed to the meeting. In the meantime, John promised Bo that Kate was going to help them by snooping, which she did. Once at the Grill, John peppered EJ with questions about his dealings with the Bradys. EJ maintained that he had nothing to do with their string of misfortunes. When Wells took off, John called Bo to let him know. They couldn’t get through to Kate who was still dawdling with her spying.
Kayla’s monitors sounded and the medical staff rushed in wearing Outbreak-style protective suits. Steve was informed that she has fluid in her lungs and may not make it. Stephanie sobbed. Hope looked on sadly.
