Mimi and Belle relaxed and had their nails done at the Green Mountain Lodge spa and discussed the possibility of Mimi having a baby via in vitro fertilization. Bonnie, who was in the next chair eavesdropping, gasped, “Did you say your own baby?” Mimi
was shocked to see her mom there, but Bonnie explained that it’s a great place to meet “single, rich corporate types.” Mimi mentioned the possibility of having a child via in vitro, and
Bonnie encouraged her to have a test tube baby, ASAP. It would be a guarantee that Shawn would never leave her. Belle overheard, so Bonnie had to talk her way out it, noting that a kid was “super glue” to a marriage. When Bonnie left, Mimi asked Belle if she was okay with her and Shawn having their own baby. “Of course,”
insisted Belle, as she and Mimi discussed how their kids would grow up together.

After Shawn and Philip finished breakfast — yummy waffles — Philip researched in vitro on his laptop. He read the information
to Shawn, who was eager to make an appointment for Mimi. Philip pointed out that he knew in vitro worked. After all, it was how he was conceived. Mimi and Belle joined their husbands and the in vitro conversation continued. Bonnie reappeared and told Shawn
how happy she was about his and Mimi’s news, noting that she couldn’t wait to be a grandma. Belle mentioned that if Mimi and Shawn had a boy, perhaps he could date Claire. “That could never happen,” said Mimi, who quickly covered by saying their kids
would be more like brother and sister.

Lucas met with Kate, who’s apparently back in his good graces, to plan his wedding to Carrie. Lucas rattled off his
requests, as Kate jotted everything down. “Nothing is too good for the woman I love,” said Lucas, who wanted his wedding to be “as perfect as my life with Carrie.” Kate wondered if everything really was going to be perfect. Lucas quickly shot her down,
noting that Austin was totally out of the picture. In fact, he was going to be Lucas’ best man. Kate thought that might be awkward. Lucas insisted it wouldn’t be. Kate worried that Austin
might be vulnerable to Sami now. Needless to say, Kate wasn’t too pleased when Lucas mentioned that Sami was going to be Carrie’s maid of honor.

Sami went on about the scrumptious breakfast she whipped up for Austin, but he told her to stop. Sami was pretending that everything was perfect between them and it wasn’t. Austin
insisted they talk about their relationship and future. Austin
acknowledged having feelings for Sami, but pointed out that he wasn’t over Carrie and still wanted a future with her. Austin said that he sensed Carrie felt the same way and recounted their conversation at Dune the night before. That’s why he was going to give it one more shot. Austin said that if things went the way he
thought they would, he’d get Carrie back, she’d admit that she loved him, and Lucas would be out of the picture. Lucas arrived on cue and demanded to know what Austin was talking about.

On the pier, Carrie daydreamed about kissing Austin, while Lexie cursed Sami for forcing her to help break up the meant-to-be-together duo. Carrie spotted Lexie and told her that she was confused about her future, because she still had “really deep
feelings” for Austin. Carrie asked Lexie if the tests she took were accurate, yet again. And, yet again, Lexie lied through her teeth and confirmed that any child Carrie and Austin conceived
would have serious birth defects. Carrie lamented that she didn’t
want to bring a child into the world who was only going to suffer the rest of his life. Carrie told Lexie that she almost admitted her real feelings to Austin last night. Then, she begged Lexie to review her test results one last time. Carrie wanted to be absolutely sure that there was no way she and Austin could have a healthy baby. Back in Lexie’s office, Carrie perused the medical certificates on Lexie’s wall. She picked up one and
read a note from the late Tom Horton on it, noting how lucky Lexie’s patients were to have her as a doctor and a friend. A guilty Lexie finally broke down and said, “I am not noble. I’m not good. I’m a fraud. I don’t tell my patients the truth.”
