The St. Patrick’s Day celebration was in full swing at the Brady Pub. Grandpa Shawn, Victor and Caroline toasted to Shawn and Mimi and their wedding the next day. At a booth, Belle got tanked on green beer. Caroline was alarmed to see Mrs. K drinking alone and asked if it was because of Shawn. Yes, replied Belle, who then intimated that she might stop the wedding. Caroline tried to set her straight. Belle drunkenly commented that she wished Shawn was Claire’s father. Victor overheard. Caroline said she had to honor her marriage vows and let Shawn marry Mimi. “If you love him, you’ll let him go,” counseled Caroline. “You can do it. Just be strong.” Caroline spoke with Victor afterward. He asked if she could do it over again, would she keep Bo’s paternity a secret from him. Yes, Caroline replied. Back at the table, bitchy Heather from high school had a drink with Belle and made her feel bad about the upcoming nups. Belle privately vowed to stop them.
Outside the Pub, Bo drained a beer. Shawn came upon him and noted that it was hard to celebrate anything. Bo thanked Shawn for allowing him to come to the wedding. Shawn suggested they go inside, but Bo said no because everyone would just ask him about Zack and ask where Hope is. Shawn and Bo then argued about Chelsea. Shawn said he could see that his father was torn between Hope and him and Chelsea and Billie. Bo gave Shawn a beer. Shawn remarked that he didn’t realize there were so many different kinds of love. Bo asked what he meant. Shawn revealed that Belle keeps telling him how she’s still in love with him and admitted that he feels torn between Belle and Mimi. Bo told him he had some serious thinking to do before he got married if he was feeling that way. Bo then asked his son if he was reconsidering marrying Mimi. No, I love her, Shawn insisted. Bo and Shawn had a heart-to-heart about the women in her lives. “If Belle wasn’t married, would Mimi be the woman you would choose to spend the rest of your life with,” Bo asked his son. Shawn didn’t respond. Bo called him on it. Shawn said that Bo already knew the answer, but that it didn’t matter: He was marrying Mimi.
Alex and John argued outside of Marlena’s room. Inside, Marlena began having flashes of John. Abe and John, with Alex in tow, returned to the cabin to see if the cops/firefighters were having any luck finding evidence against Alex. The explosion was caused by a faulty water heater, one of them said. John was angry that they didn’t have anything to implicate Alex and vowed to kill Doc North if he had to.
In the hospital, Carrie woke up and thanked Sami for helping her out. A teary Sami told Carrie she’d be fine, but then told her about Marlena’s accident. Lexie came into Carrie’s room. Sami asked if she could go see Marlena. Lexie said yes and told Sami that Marlena would be okay. Sami was thrilled and headed to Marlena’s hospital room. Sami spoke from the heart by her mother’s bedside. She admitted she didn’t have anyone to talk to and was very confused because she still loved Lucas but had feelings for Austin, but they were both stuck on Carrie. She implored her mother to come back to her. “Please remember me, remember us,” Sami tearfully pleaded. An unconscious Marlena began having flashbacks of times with Sami. Then she began to remember more times with John.
Lexie explained to Carrie that when they went in surgically, they saw some scarring (from an ovarian cyst that burst in Israel) that might make it difficult for her to conceive. Carrie began to cry, saying she wanted to be a mother. Sami eavesdropped outside of her door. Lexie told Carrie that it’s wonderful to have a baby, but even more important to raise them right. Lexie pointed out that Sami is a disaster even though she and Carrie were raised in the same house. Lexie urged Carrie to choose between Lucas and Austin. Sami fumed outside.
