Dr. Bader told Hope her test results were in and that they
should be able to determine who the father of her baby is. Bo left so Dr. Bader could speak to Hope alone. Out in the hall, Bo ran into Patrick and told him that he wasn’t giving up on Hope no
matter who fathered her child. Patrick said it was up to Hope to decide who she wanted to be with. Bo pointed out that he was Hope’s husband. Inside, Dr. Bader showed Hope the results, which
revealed how many weeks pregnant she was. Hope asked the doctor to summon Bo and Patrick back to the room. Then, Hope delivered her news: “Patrick, you’re the father.”
Austin and Sami arrived home and started talking about their client, EJ. When Austin got called away on business via a text message, Sami pulled The Gloved Hand’s mystery note from her purse and worried aloud about what would happen when the truth
came out. EJ overheard, walked in, and asked what was bothering Sami, insisting that she could trust him to help and NOT judge her. If not him, EJ said there had to be someone else she could
talk to. Sami noted that her mother was a good listener, but was out of town. Besides, her family wouldn’t understand. Sami got all teary eyed, noting how she used to be able to talk to Lucas, but he wouldn’t understand what she’d done. EJ advised that it’s
easier to solve a problem with two people, and, finally, Sami decided to spill her secret. That is, if EJ promised not to tell
anyone else or judge her. If he decided he didn’t want to help her, he could walk away. Then, Sami handed EJ the note.
Lucas went to fetch Carrie, who worked up quite an appetite from all their lovemaking, a snack. While he was gone, Carrie stood up, felt dizzy, and passed out. Lucas returned, found
Carrie, and managed to revive her. Lucas implored his bride to go to the hospital, but she refused. Carrie was certain she’d
fainted because she hadn’t eaten all day. The newlyweds had a snack, and Carrie said she felt better. Lucas proceeded to give Carrie a special gift: a silver rattle that had belonged to his
father, and promised to always be there for his wife and child. Carrie admitted that she felt lucky to have a husband like Lucas. Later, the couple made love; then, fell fast asleep.
Unfortunately, they were totally unaware of the fact that the curtains in their bedroom had caught fire.
Outside, Billie ran into Austin, while she was jogging.
Billie commented on how hard it must have been for Austin to watch Carrie walk down the aisle with Lucas and asked if he still loved his ex. Austin admitted that he’d always love Carrie, but things hadn’t worked out. Carrie was with Lucas and he was with
Sami. End of story. When Billie pressed the issue, Austin told her that Carrie had been very secretive about why she chose Lucas over him. Austin changed the subject to Billie’s love life and asked what was going on there. He’d heard that Hope was pregnant
by either Bo or Patrick and wondered how Billie was handling that. Billie said she wasn’t going to be anyone’s second choice,
because she deserved better. Austin mentioned having the perfect guy for her: EJ. Billie admitted EJ was cute, but too young for her.
Belle and Philip got a call from the hospital summoning them back at once, because there was a problem. Meanwhile, Dr. Jaynes told Mimi and Shawn that there might have been a mix-up with the embryo transfer. Mimi and Shawn’s surrogate may have been implanted with the wrong embryo. Philip and Belle arrived, and the doctor filled them in on the possible mix-up, too. Philip
went ballistic. The same thing happened to his mother at this very hospital. Dr. Jaynes kept his cool, explaining that the lab was checking the genetic residue from the catheters used to
implant the surrogate and Belle. As the foursome waited for the results, a distressed Mimi walked off and Philip continued to fume. Meanwhile, down in the hospital lab, the technicians realized things were worse than they thought. They informed Dr. Jaynes that the correct eggs had been implanted in Belle and the
surrogate, but somehow Shawn and Philip’s sperm had been
switched. Dr. Jaynes proceeded to explain the sperm mix-up to Belle, Philip, Shawn and Mimi. “You mean I’m having a baby with
Philip?” asked Mimi. “And the baby Belle is carrying is mine? said Shawn. Philip screamed at Dr. Jaynes as The Gloved Hand pulled back the curtain and watched the fireworks.
