Carrie and Austin, who stayed up all night and watched the sunrise, looked forward to their future together. Austin surprised Carrie by blindfolding her and taking her to a fish
restaurant they used to go to when they started dating. They
remembered back to buying a pair of lobsters there, naming them
Carrie and Austin, and setting them free at a local seaway. Fast
forward to the present, Carrie spotted Austin lobster in the
tank, recognizing his broken claw. Carrie wanted to buy him, but
Austin was told he’d already been sold to another patron. Although it cost him a pretty penny, Austin managed to snare his namesake lobster away from his owner. He and Carrie took the
lobster to the pier and set it free, so it could reunite with Carrie lobster. Austin took Carrie in his arms, vowing never to let her go again.
Marlena, Belle and Shawn watched over Claire, who was recovering from transplant surgery. When Lexie arrived to examine the baby, the trio stepped outside. Belle asked Marlena how she
was after the incident with Alex. Marlena said she was fine, but
that Alex was fighting for his life, because John shot him. Marlena told Belle she didn’t want to bother her with her concerns about Alex. It wasn’t the time. All she wanted to do was
pray for Claire and Zack. As Marlena headed to her office, Shawn took his place by Belle’s side. Lexie came out and said Claire had a high fever and might be rejecting the transplant. Belle
sobbed, but Shawn remained positive. He told Claire that Zack gave her his lucky blanket and now his liver and she was going to make it. Suddenly, the door opened, Zack’s ghost walked in and said, “Hi Shawn. Hi Belle. Don’t be sad. I’m okay.”
John mentioned that he heard Abe might be a candidate for a cornea transplant; then Abe proceeded into Alex’s room. Lois, who was lurking there, had to hide. John muttered that as long as Alex was out of commission, there was no threat to Marlena. Thinking to himself, Alex noted that Lois was the threat. The
conversation turned toward Zack, and Abe informed John that the
police had evidence that Bo’s car hit his son. Soon, Lois emerged, claiming that she wanted to check on Alex. Lois asked where Marlena was, and John wondered why. To himself, Alex
muttered, “Because she wants to kill Marlena, you idiot.” John said Marlena was fine. Lois spied Alex’s hand moving and suggested that he be put in restraints. John agreed and left to
get a nurse. Lois left to go kill Marlena.
In her office, Marlena slept and dreamt about Alex. He warned her not listen to John, when he said Alex was a threat to her. Alex warned that the real threat was Lois. Soon, Lois arrived with her trusty syringe. As fate would have it, Marlena rolled over on the couch and knocked it out of Lois’s hand. Lois
was furious as she picked it up, vowing Marlena would pay.
Bo told Chelsea he wanted to know everything that happened after she took off in his truck. Did she hit Zack? Chelsea said it was too dark to see and that maybe it was a dog. Bo said it
was his son, that Chelsea killed Zack. All the evidence pointed to his truck. Bo raged on about signing Chelsea’s temporary license and giving her the keys to his truck. “My God! What did I
do? Zack, I’m sorry. I’m so sorry, Zack,” he wailed. Chelsea cried that she was sorry and begged Bo not to hate her. Bo assured Chelsea that he didn’t. He also told her that she was reckless and irresponsible, but so was he. Bo insisted Zack’s death was all his fault, while Chelsea said it was all a horrible
accident. Bo wondered how he was going to tell Hope that his daughter killed Zack. Chelsea begged Bo not to, but Bo said he couldn’t lie to Hope. Chelsea whined that if anyone told the cops what she’d done, she’d go to prison and her life would be over.
Jennifer tended to Hope, who refused to believe the cops’ claim that Bo’s car hit Zack. Jennifer agreed they had to be wrong. Hope wondered why so many terrible things were happening.
Was she cursed? Jennifer assured Hope that she wasn’t, but she was a Horton woman and needed to be strong for her family. After Hope fell asleep, Bo arrived and told her how sorry he was.
Meanwhile, Chelsea spotted Max being questioned by the cops and implored him not to turn her in. Max assured Chelsea that he wouldn’t, but he did have to get back to his garage. The cops were impounding Bo’s car. Again, Chelsea pleaded with Bo not to tell Hope what she’d done. It would only make things worse. Bo was torn as he looked at Hope.
