John visited Abe at the hospital, thrilled to see that his old “partner” could SEE again. Abe mentioned how grateful he was to receive his cornea transplant from Zack, the boy he once
called his son. Yet, he was sad that he would be unable to attend Zack’s funeral. John noted he couldn’t attend, either, because he was steering clear of Marlena and Alex, who were sure to be there. Abe assured John that Marlena would come to her senses,
eventually, and realize that she belonged with John. Abe offered
John advice on how to get the goods on Alex: use his ISA investigating techniques. Later, John and Abe met up in the hallway, and John was toting a vial of truth serum.

Wacky Lois muttered on about how Alex had to finish his mission, so Marlena could die and they could finally be together. Then, she snuck out of her room and called Alex, who just returned home from Zack’s funeral with Marlena. Alex answered the phone, as Marlena went upstairs to change. Alex ordered Lois to return to her room before anyone knew she was missing. Lois refused, insisting Alex come rescue her from the psych ward or she would tell John what he was up to. Alex softened his tone and was able to get Lois to follow his wishes. Marlena returned and had a flashback of her and John kissing, and John feeding her strawberries and whipped cream. Alex announced that he had to
leave, and Marlena said she knew why. He was going to buy her a Valentine’s Day gift. Marlena refused to let Alex go, wanting to pamper him. Alex was anxious, knowing he had to get to Lois.

Lois snuck back into her room, just as Abe and John arrived outside the door. Abe distracted the guard, while John slipped inside. Holding the vial, John prepared to inject Lois, anxious to finally learn the truth about Alex.

Chelsea arrived at Zack’s funeral and Hope slapped her. Bo asked Billie why she let Chelsea come, and Billie insisted she tried to stop her. Bo infuriated Hope when he said that Chelsea was there to pay her respects to Zack. Hope said she couldn’t
believe that Bo was defending Chelsea OR that he had gone behind her back, signed for Chelsea’s temporary license, and given her the keys to his SUV that night. Chelsea killed their son. Shawn was stunned by all of it and told Chelsea to leave. Then, he
turned his anger on Bo, unable to believe that he was a part of the cover-up and had lied to him and Hope. Mimi attempted to calm
Shawn down, to no avail. Shawn begged Mimi never to lie to him,
and she promised she wouldn’t. Then, he headed back to Hope and told Mimi to go back to the loft to check on Bonnie.

Outside, Billie filled Patrick in on what went down in the church. Patrick suggested that Billie and Patrick leave, and Billie agreed. But first she confronted Kate about talking Chelsea into showing up at the funeral. It was SO wrong. Kate insisted it wasn’t. It looked good for Chelsea’s defense. Billie called Kate on her real motive: driving a bigger wedge between Bo
and Hope so that Billie could land Bo. Billie said that Hope lost her son and needed Bo. Chelsea interrupted, saying she never should have come to the funeral. Chelsea tried to blame Patrick for everything, and Billie let her have it. “It is time for you to take responsibility for what you’ve done,” yelled Billie.

Patrick went into the church to check on Hope, but Bo asked him to leave him and Hope alone out of respect for their son and their loss. Hope told Bo he had no right to treat Patrick that
way, and Bo insisted that Patrick had no right to get involved in any of this. “You mean exposing your lies … so you could go on covering up the fact that your daughter murdered our son?” asked Hope. Shawn attacked Bo, saying that Chelsea might have been
driving the car, but Bo was the one who killed Zack. Bo agreed, taking full responsibility. Suddenly, Bo saw Patrick was back and taking Hope a cup of water. Bo accused him of using this situation to get close to Hope. Bo grabbed Patrick and pushed him. Patrick landed on the casket, and Zack’s framed photo atop it smashed to the floor. “Look what you’ve done,” sighed Hope. “My son is dead because of you, Bo. Just get out. Get away from me.”

Back at the loft, Bonnie found Mimi’s diary and couldn’t resist reading it. When she got to the part where Mimi said her life was over, because Rex found out she lied and had an abortion, Bonnie wondered if forcing Mimi not to tell Shawn the truth about
Claire was a mistake. Then, Bonnie came to her twisted senses and realized of course not. Mimi was furious when she returned to find Bonnie eating pizza and drinking beer. Mimi filled Bonnie in on what happened at the church and said that she was determined to tell Shawn about Claire. Bonnie told Mimi it would be a big mistake, but that she was on her own from now on.
