While Lexie tended to Kayla, Steve went into the other room to call Billie. “I had no idea you were going out of town with Kayla,” said Billie. Steve said he didn’t know, either, but that Kayla wanted to go away, so he agreed to go because he felt it would be a good time to tell her the truth, that he didn’t have his memory back. Billie advised him to be gentle. Lexie left. Once alone, Kayla tried to get close to Steve, but he said he couldn’t lie to her anymore. “I don’t remember us. I don’t remember loving you. I’m sorry,” he admitted. She acted brave, saying she already knew because she sensed something wasn’t right. She explained that she brought him there to get the truth. He sat her down to talk to her and told her how special she was and how much he admired her. “But you don’t love me,” she whispered, with a forlorn expression. “That look right there. It’s a look I never wanted to see. I never wanted to hurt you, Kayla,” he replied. She said she didn’t want to be with him if he didn’t want her and she just wants him to be happy. She put out her hand and asked him to be her friend. He shook it, said of course, then gave her a hug. She was crying, and went into the bathroom to pull herself together. Steve fell asleep. A storm raged outside. He began having memories of Kayla from the past. Housekeeping came and woke him up. Steve was disoriented and knocked on the door for Kayla, begging her to open it. She opened the door and he thought it was 20 years ago and that Kiriakis was after them. Kayla tried to talk him down, explaining that he was remembering something from years ago, but he couldn’t break out of the reverie. He was hit with a flood of memories and fell to the floor. When he came out of it, he told Kayla that he remembered and began to cry. “I remember, everything. Oh, Sweetness. Sweetness,” he whispered.

Billie hung up, all smiley. “Let me guess, your favorite pirate,” Chelsea announced in a not bratty way. Billie asked her why she had a change of heart about him. Chelsea said it was because she found her soul mate and showed the photo of the man she thinks is her Web pal, Lonely Splicer, but is really Nick’s boss at the hospital. A wary Billie thought it sounded a bit strange. Chelsea said she was done hurting people and wanted to be someone her mother could be proud of. Billie said her saying that made her proud. Chelsea asked Billie to go home so she could prove that Lonely Splicer was real and amazing. At home, Billie read over the e-mails. Chelsea said she wanted to spend the rest of her life with him. Billie warned her to be careful and that he could be a drug dealer. He’s a doctor, Chelsea replied, pointing out the stethoscope in the photo.

Bonnie wanted to take care of Patrick, who was released from the hospital, but he said he had some business to do before he left town with Hope. Patrick insisted he wouldn’t let Bo keep him from Hope and his baby. Bonnie suggested that Bo didn’t beat her son up, after all. Bonnie also revealed that she had spoken to EJ. Patrick advised her to mind her own business or else they’d all get killed.

At Chez Rouge, EJ approached Bo and said he was ready to accept his apology for accusing him of kidnapping Claire. “I didn’t apologize,” Bo replied. EJ showed him a picture of the woman who brought Claire back. Bo said her record was clean. EJ handed Bo the woman’s real file. Bo asked how he got it. He claimed from his news sources…. Bo headed to the Cheatin’ Heart, where he saw the woman, who was buying drinks for everyone. He asked why she was so generous. She said because she had gotten a bonus at work. He produced the mug shot from the file EJ gave him, which rattled the woman. He asked her if EJ paid her off. She said no and hurried off.

Willow and Shawn hung out at his apartment. He noted that he hasn’t been there for Claire. Willow pointed out how he is paying for lots of Claire’s expenses and that Belle is living at home with her parents. Shawn said that EJ was probably shady and that he was a jerk for taking his money. He also said he wanted to tell Belle the truth about living with Willow. She tried to talk him out of it, then left to go pick up her paycheck.

Belle and Hope talked about Shawn. Belle admitted she wasn’t trying to hurt Shawn, but she couldn’t get past the fact that he was “sleeping with a prostitute” and that she didn’t want Claire near Willow. Hope urged Belle to resolve her feelings for Shawn. Belle went to the apartment to talk things over with Shawn. While they were having a heart-to-heart about Mimi and Philip and the past, Willow came back and eavesdropped. Shawn defended Willow, but said he wanted to be completely honest with Belle. He admitted that Bo thought EJ was doing something illegal and he was unsure whether or not to keep his job. She said he would do the right thing. He said there was another thing he hadn’t been honest about. Just as he was about to admit Willow was living there, Willow barged in and claimed she didn’t know they had company. She headed right for Shawn and kissed him.

Patrick visited Hope and they argued over Bo. He said he wanted her to keep up her end of the deal and go away with him. She said she would go to Chicago with him, but wanted to tell Bo on her own terms. He said they’d leave in two weeks. Hope was dismayed, since that would mean she’d miss Christmas with her family.

Steph, Nick and Abby dined at Chez Rouge. He spied Willow across the room and remarked that she was hot. Abby asked Nick who the guy in the photo was. “My boss,” Nick replied. Abby worried that Chelsea would figure out he worked at the hospital. No way, insisted Nick. Steph returned to the table and reported that Chelsea called and told her Lonely Splicer was a doctor. Nick looked away nervously. Willow passed by the table so Nick got up to tell her he thought she was hot. She spied Steph and Abby and thought they were making fun of her, so Willow told him and his friends to go to hell. He returned to the table; Stephanie left.

Bonnie called a meeting with EJ at the Cheatin’ Heart. She wanted to talk about Patrick, saying he was in way over his head with EJ. She said she needed more money from him. They went to a private area of the bar, where Bonnie planted a kiss on him in order to get the cash. He explained he was flattered, but his heart was spoken for. He gave her the cash, then told her to leave him alone. She took it. EJ left and tracked down Patrick outside of Bo and Hope’s house. He told Patrick to keep Bonnie away from him —or else.
