Mimi looked on as a shirtless Max tried to sledgehammer his way out of their church basement prison. When his shoulder started to hurt, Mimi took over and smugly made a way bigger hole in the wall than he did. They found a closet hidden behind the wall. Max opened the closet and a skeleton fell out, eliciting quite the scream from Mimi. Max poked around the body and found a Colt, an original six-gun. He hatched a plot to blast his way out of their trap. Mimi begged him to reconsider, but Max fired the gun anyway. It didn’t work, but they were both still okay. Max tried to cheer up Mimi by proposing an impromptu Christmas celebration. She thanked him for being there for her after Shawn split and he thanked her for being there for him after the crash. Sexual tension ensued.
Abby, Chelsea and Stephanie discussed where Mimi and Max could be. They thought the missing duo might be at a remote farm. Chelsea called Abby on wanting to look like a heroine to Max, but she reluctantly agreed to join the Scooby Squad search. After a while, Stephanie and Chelsea began to have second thoughts, fearing they might be doing more harm than good, but Abby wouldn’t hear of it.
At the station, Bo, John, Abe, Roman and Marlena listened in as Lucas ranted about using Sami as EJ bait. Sami beamed when Lucas said she’s the woman he cares about. When Lucas and Sami left the room, Marlena told Roman that she’s against the idea, too. John pointed out that Sami’s mind is made up, so that’s that. Out in the hall, Sami told Lucas as much. “I’m worried about my wife, damn it!” he shouted. The Freudian slip totally melted Sami.
Meanwhile, EJ dropped by Sami’s place, where Will tried to quickly get rid of him. He questioned Sami’s claim that Will had been sick. Will slammed the door in his face, ripped off his own shirt and grabbed a first aid kit. He let EJ back in and pretended to have stitches. EJ gawked at the bandage on his torso, then stormed off in a huff. Will phoned his mom to report on what happened and she was very proud that he pretended to have had an appendectomy. Lucas barged back in to the station room to tell the detectives his plan….
Lexie chewed out Abe for trying to hide his vision problems, but he maintained that he didn’t want to give the force another reason to can him. Marlena promised to set up an appointment with an eye specialist. Abe’s vision quickly deteriorated and he noted he could barely see his own hand.
EJ met for lunch with Sami, who told him she’d spoken to the police. She “confided” info the cops had on Eve’s murder. He was suspicious of her motives until Sami “admitted” that she has feelings for him and offered to help him evade John’s investigation. Lucas stormed in and roughly pulled Sami away. Outside they crowed to Bo and Roman about the ruse. In the meantime, EJ called Patrick with a change in plans. They would “settle all debts” the day after Christmas. And one more thing, “I want you to make sure Bo Brady is aware of exactly what’s happening when you leave town with his wife.” EJ hung up and looked totally sinister.
