Philip adamantly nixed Lexie’s suggestion about doing a DNA test on Claire, deeming it unnecessary since Belle and Shawn had never “been
together.” Belle agreed. Lexie vowed to get to the bottom of the mysterious file and find out who left it in Shawn’s room. Then, Lexie examined Shawn, and Mimi, Belle and Philip stepped outside. Philip
promised to find out who was messing with their lives and to make them pay. Lexie emerged and pronounced Shawn well enough to go home. Belle
and Philip left for Sami’s wedding, and Mimi went in to see Shawn, who cracked that at least one good thing came out of this situation: He
didn’t have to attend Sami’s wedding. Later, Mimi and Shawn arrived at the loft. Maggie, who was babysitting Claire, greeted them in the hallway. Then, she gently scolded Shawn about his drinking binge. Shawn promised not to do it again.
At the police station, the cop who arrested Sami and EJ for
trespassing didn’t buy their lame explanations. Sami mentioned who her father was and that she was on her way to her wedding, but the cop didn’t buy it. If the police commander’s daughter was getting married, he’d know about it. Before Sami and EJ were sent to be booked, Sami
demanded her one phone call. EJ noted that he’d already tried Carrie’s cell, but her voicemail was full. Sami realized there was no one to
call, since they were all in church with their phones turned off. Meanwhile, John arrived at the station to talk to Eve about their next date. Officer Peters interrupted to tell Eve that his perp wasn’t
lying: her fingerprints proved she is Samantha Brady. Needless to say, John was shocked. Down in her holding cell, Sami was taunted by two
hookers, who assumed she was one of the girls. “Oh, my God. Tell me what I did to deserve this. On second thought, don’t,” moaned Sami, who
was overjoyed when John showed up. After teasing his wayward
stepdaughter, John had her released and offered her a ride to church.
At St. Luke’s, Marlena and Carrie discussed missing bride Sami and how EJ was driving her to the church. In the groom’s room, Lucas told
Austin that he still had time to back out of the wedding, if he was having second thoughts. Austin swore that Sami was the woman he loved and headed to tell her. Austin knocked on the bridal room door and
started talking to Sami. Carrie came out and made excuses why her sister hadn’t answered him. Austin continued to press Carrie to fetch Sami, as did Lucas. The jig was up when Chelsea emerged and announced that Sami had “flown the coop” and was with EJ. “Thank God. My prayers
have been answered,” interrupted Kate, who went on and on with Chelsea about the attraction between EJ and Sami. Carrie insisted it was
nonsense and that there had to be a good reason why Sami hadn’t shown up yet. Austin agreed and returned to the groom’s room to await his
bride. Meanwhile, Billie and Chelsea walked to the lobby, where they ran into arriving Belle and Philip. “You two are still together?” cracked Chelsea. “Why wouldn’t we be?” retorted Belle. Back in the
bride’s room, Marlena and Carrie had a heart-to-heart talk. Marlena wondered if Carrie was trying to convince herself that marrying Lucas
was the right choice. Carrie said that it was; then, broke down, admitting that she’d let so many people down. That is, everyone except Sami and she didn’t want to hurt her. Marlena wondered how Carrie
really felt about watching Austin marry Sami and if, perhaps, Carrie secretly hoped it wouldn’t happen. In the middle of their talk, John
arrived with Sami. “Look who I found at the Salem PD,” he announced. Sami promised to explain the whole story later. But right now, she wanted to marry Austin.
