CBS/SONY RESPONDS TO ROWELL SUIT
Former Y&R star Victoria Rowell, who played fan-favorite Drucilla Winters, made headlines last February when she filed a lawsuit against Sony and CBS for intentionally refusing to bring her back in retaliation for her public outcry for the soap to employ African Americans in front and behind the camera. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the plaintiffs have responded with their own legal action against the actress by asking the court to dismiss her claim. In response, Rowell’s attorney, Dan Stormer states, "CBS/Sony is afraid to address the important underlying issues of their racial discrimination and retaliation. They are hoping to find some obscure technicality that might allow them to escape the justice that Victoria Rowell so richly deserves.”
