B&B’s Scariest Moments
While it doesn’t dabble in supernatural shenanigans like fellow soap PASSIONS, THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL can lay claim to some legitimately scary moments over the years. Here, we take a look back at B&B’s most frightening times (in no particular order).
GRAVEDIGGER (2005) — The outcome was positive, but what’s spookier than a man digging up his ex-wife’s coffin?! Ridge found out when he did it on a foggy night only to face scary Omar and see a dummy buried in Taylor’s place. Ridge turned around and saw the REAL Taylor, alive and well (thanks to Omar’s secret intervention).
WHAT A RUSH (1997) — After Eric and Lauren’s plane crash-landed in Greenland they were helped by a mysterious stranger, Rush, who turned out to be major whacko and murderer Tony Carrera. Rush/Tony tied up Eric and prepared to rape Lauren. Eric freed himself and rescued Lauren by firing a crossbow straight through Rush’s heart (OUCH!).
“ASSISTED” SUICIDE (2005) — Stephanie gave Brooke a gun (gift-wrapped, no less!) and told her to kill herself for Bridget’s sake. When a dumfounded Brooke refused, Stephanie looked her square in the eyes and challenged Brooke to shoot her instead. Brooke managed to squeeze the trigger — but missed by a mile.
THE PITS (2005) — Amber trapped Ridge and Bridget together in a mine shaft in a desperate bid to get a compromising picture. She got her money shot, but not before “compromising” their lives as the pair almost died.
OH, SHEILA! (2003) — This woman has so many scary episodes we don’t know where to start! Most recently, she held Ridge and Nick hostage at a foundry in South America after kidnapping Ridge and Brooke during their honeymoon. Ridge and Nick’s father, Massimo, showed up to deliver the ransom. But things went awry and it looked for a time as though Ridge had been burned alive in the foundry.
NO CLOWNING (2001) — Morgan, another regular troublemaker, hit her crazy peak in 2001 when she dressed up as a clown to crash Phoebe and Steffy’s birthday party to have it out with Stephanie once and for all. Stephanie punched her into the pool. Watching her floating face down, Steph paused to consider whether she should let Morgan drown.
UP IN FLAMES (2000) — A distraught Macy drove herself and her husband Thorne’s lover, Brooke, headfirst into an oncoming tanker trunk. Thorne arrived on the scene and pulled Brooke to safety, but before he could get to Macy the crash site exploded into a horrific fireball.
SHIPWRECKED (2007) — Nick’s romantic idea of a moonlight pleasure cruise with Taylor turned topsy turvy when the Shady Marlin was rammed by a tanker. Taylor almost drowned, but Nick pulled her from the drink at the last possible minute.
CRASH COURSE (2006) — A tipsy Taylor got behind the wheel on a foggy night and mowed down Darla, who was attempting to change Phoebe’s tire along the highway (no good deed goes unpunished!). Darla became Taylor’s new hood ornament, and the horrified doc made eye contact with a bloody Darla through the windshield, as Darla spent her final moments locking eyes with the woman who killed her.
