B&B’s John McCook Opens Up

Comments

Fan favorite John McCook (Eric, B&B) opened up about his family life on-screen and off in a beautiful short narrative film recently shot by his on-screen grandson, Adam Gregory (Thomas, B&B) for Glasswater Films (www.glasswaterfilms.com). Gregory tells Digest he hopes to create more short movies about a few of his other B&B co-stars in the future, but McCook's life particularly resonates with and inspires him as a soon-to-be father. "This is all very important to me because I'm having a son in February," Gregory shares. "He has a very good family environment around his house and that's something to be proud of. I know Molly [McCook's youngest daughter] quite well and she's extremely normal and has grown up in the heart of L.A., which can be difficult to do. He's an extremely cool dude and I tried to find stuff that was personal and interviews but you don't really, really get to know the actors themselves personally outside of him being Eric Forrester," he adds. "It all kind of tails back into the character. I decided not to do any of that. I just wanted to kind of explain his life and who he is as a person and what drives him and about his family and goals in life. He allowed me to come into his house and film, which was the first time in history that anyone was allowed in John McCook's home. I felt honored because he trusted me with it. He has so many amazing stories. He's very prolific, funny and animated man. He has such contrast with his character and it catches you by surprise."
