Nick was thrilled to hear his mother was showing improvement and was doing “remarkably well, considering.” But the doctor was cautious, warning she might “never be the woman she was before the accident.” Nick wasn’t so sure it was an accident. In the waiting room, meanwhile, Brooke suggested Donna hold off on confirming that suspicion, since Nick was so fragile after his mother’s accident and Brooke ending their marriage. Donna was surprised to hear her sister wasn’t running back to Ridge, but still down about not getting him herself. She was considering leaving town, but Brooke said Stephanie didn’t have the right to fire her and begged her to stay. After what she’d seen, Donna was too scared to go against Stephanie. Brooke was still hesitant to believe Steph had done something as bad as pushing Jackie over the banister on purpose, but Donna stood behind what she saw and insisted this was their chance to get Steph. (A little contradictory, but okay….) When the two of them joined Nick in Jackie’s room, Donna didn’t miss a beat before telling him what she’d seen. “She was pushed…hard,” she told him. Brooke tried to calm the situation, but then Jackie spoke his name, which was her first word. She confirmed that with a painful nod that Stephanie pushed her. He told her he’d “handle it” and kissed her hand, before storming out. When Brooke tried to reach him on his cell phone, he sent her call straight to voicemail. She was worried Nick would do more than “just talk to her.”

La Forrester, meanwhile, was getting the Brooke update from Ridge. He told her that Brooke wasn’t dating him — yet — and that they had to be patient. She agreed, just glad to be rid of “Nick and his mother.” When Eric showed up, talk turned to business and how great it would be to have Brooke back at Forrester. Ridge had designs to show Eric, but Eric wanted to go see Jackie. Steph offered to join him, but Eric didn’t want her to come. “What I don’t get is that railing is waist high,” he questioned. “I don’t understand how she could just fall.” He stopped short of directly accusing his wife and after he left, Stephanie continued to insist it was an accident.

Eric arrived at the hospital, where he was quickly filled in. Brooke concluded that Nick “went ballistic and ran out of here.” When they called to warn Stephanie to stay away from Nick, she was too confident and cocky to worry. Brooke insisted they go intervene and remained unconvinced that the push was intentional, but Donna wouldn’t back down. Eric, equally unsure, went in to talk to Jackie, not realizing Ridge wasn’t with his mother anymore. When Nick arrived at the manse, Steph didn’t open the door for him, so he walked around back and broke in. “I know what you did,” he announced, but she just accused him of trespassing and swore it was an accident, regardless of what Donna said. Furious, Nick chased her up the stairs, grabbed her and hung her over the banister! La Forrester looked petrified, but still wouldn’t back down.
