It was a day of flashbacks and montages — just the thing to remind new and old fans who Taylor was and why we should care that she’s back.
Ridge and his brothers continued digging in the misty graveyard, but the sound of sirens set Thorne off again. He insisted that they had to stop digging up Taylor’s grave and tried to talk Ridge down again, but after another flash of the pink veil, Ridge was even more committed to the task at hand. Thorne jumped back into the now half-dug grave to help. Nick told Thorne they had to stand by Ridge even if he’s crazy, because he’s blood. When the brothers got to the bottom of the grave, Nick and Thorne didn’t want to leave Ridge, but he sent them away. Clearly, opening your dead wife’s coffin is a solo project.
Meanwhile, the rest of the family remained thrown by Ridge’s insistence that Taylor’s alive. So many memories were stirred up and we got to see them all. At home, Stephanie reminisced about telling her daughter-in-law that she loved like her own. Eric arrived to comfort her and as they discussed the situation, Stephanie flashed back to learning that a comatose Taylor had been unplugged from life support. She had to admit there was never any proof that Taylor actually died. She could see where Ridge was coming from, but her concern went into override after Dr. Mark informed her Ridge wasn’t in his hospital room. At the same time, Thomas and Bridget were talking it out. Thomas, who had his own flashbacks yesterday, admitted that even though he’s worried about his dad, he’s glad his father still remembers his mother. He loves Brooke and appreciates her, but was glad her presence hadn’t wiped the memory of his mother away. He also said that he used to dream that she would return, but promised he’s moved past that fantasy.
Back in the graveyard, Ridge straddled his wife’s grave, “because I love you Taylor and because if there’s a chance you’re alive somewhere, I want to know.” Then, he flashed back to major moments in their romantic history, culminating in the image of her dying in his arms. “God forgive me. I need the truth,” he said as steeled himself for what he would find. Then, he started tugging on the coffin lid…Talk about a Friday cliffhanger!Thursday, April 28, 2005
It’s no surprise that Taylor was still the topic of much discussion. At the hospital, Ridge told Stephanie that even though Taylor died in his arms, he believed the woman he saw was Taylor. Ridge vowed to get to find out what is going on. Mark brought in Taylor’s death certificate and revealed that no one knows whose signature is on the document. Ridge told Stephanie he’s not letting go until he has proof Taylor is dead. Ridge agreed to wait until tomorrow to pacify Stephanie, but then called Nick when she left. “You need me to do what?” replied Nick on the other end of the phone. Ridge got dressed in a jiffy (guess his head didn’t hurt anymore) and snuck out of the hospital. It was dark and foggy and creeeepy when Thorne and Nick showed up at Taylor’s grave. Ridge arrived shortly after and Thorne wondered what the heck they were doing there. When Ridge told him they were there to dig up Taylor’s grave to see if she’s really dead, Thorne replied, “Taylor’s been dead for years, man!” Even though they didn’t “dig” it, Nick and Thorne decided to help Ridge find out the truth.
Earlier at Brooke and Ridge’s home, Nick praised Bridget on how well she handled Steffy and Phoebe, and they discussed what kind of person Taylor was. Bridget told Nick how great Taylor’s decisions would have been over the last few years had she been around and that she’s amazed Ridge found love again with Brooke. A wiped out Brooke returned home and told them that Ridge still believes Taylor is alive. Nick and Bridget told Brooke that they postponed the wedding. Brooke shared how hard this whole thing is for her, especially Ridge calling Taylor his wife. Bridget informed a disappointed Nick she can’t leave Brooke alone. Stephanie showed up and told them about Taylor’s suspicious death certificate. Uh oh.

At the hospital, Ridge continued to insist that he saw Taylor. Thomas, Eric, Stephanie and Brooke worried about him and his head injury. Ridge told them he was hit by men who grabbed the woman he believes to be Taylor. “She’s been dead for years,” cried out Thomas (who apparently doesn’t realize he’s on a soap and people come back from the dead all the time.) Gaby showed up and Thomas told her what Ridge said. Stephanie and Brooke talked about what could have happened to Ridge. Mark returned with Ridge’s test results, which all came back normal. Mark also revealed that he didn’t sign Taylor’s death certificate the night she “died,” so Ridge became even more insistent that Taylor is alive. Brooke begged Ridge to drop it. “Don’t you think I’d know my own wife?” replied Ridge (ouch, Brooke). Stephanie got firm with Ridge and told him that it had gone far enough. Brooke and Eric wondered if Morgan or Amber could be behind Ridge’s situation. Thomas drove Gaby home and they talked about their moms in heaven. Thomas flashed back to when Taylor said she would watch over the family when she became an angel. Back at the hospital, Ridge flashed back to seeing Taylor dead in the casket but he insisted that Taylor is now alive. Somebody’s got some splainin’ to do…
Nick and Bridget made out, bemoaned the fact they weren’t married yet, and told each other that they loved the other’s vows. “Do we have to say them again,” cracked Nick. Bridget and Nick tried to calm Phoebe and Steffy, who were concerned about their dad. “I’m in a roomful of pretty girls,” smiled Nick, who promised to protect the twins and their family. Eric called Bridget to give her an update on Ridge and his revelation. Bridget then told Nick the news and then they made out (again).

The scene opened with Bridget and Nick’s wedding party looking confused and the groom asking, “Who screamed?” While Nick was heading back to check on the situation, Ridge was staring into those veiled blue eyes. The woman he believes is Taylor fought the hold of a masked man, but before Ridge could make sense of it, another man in black took him down from behind. Taylor was whisked away and Nick and Thorne found their brother on the ground, muttering confusing statements like, “It’s her,” and “They took her.” They brought him back to the wedding and laid him down in the aisle Bridget just walked down. The family gathered around, worrying it was another concussion as Ridge remained unresponsive, muttering more cryptic statements about “her.” The paramedics arrived, with wedding guest Hector taking charge and filling them in on the situation. Bridget insisted her mother go to the hospital with Ridge (and Hector), but she was clearly holding back some serious water works. Not only was Ridge hurt again, but so much for her special day!
Meanwhile, the twins and Stephanie talked in their room and for the first time, the personality differences between Steffy and Phoebe were apparent. A calm Steffy told Phoebe she has to be strong, but Phoebe remained emotional. Stephanie promised them that Ridge would be all right and talk turned conveniently to their mother Taylor. Everyone misses her. Stephanie told the girls to let Taylor’s spirit guide them and that they must follow their father’s example and persevere, the way he did when he lost Taylor.
In the backyard, the rest of the family was theorizing over who the woman screaming could have been. Amber? Morgan? Sheila? Whoever it was, Mass insisted he’ll make her pay. Then Nick asked the priest if he and Bridget were actually married and for some reason, the priest smiled when he says no. (Very sensitive.) Bridget didn’t want to continue without Ridge and her mother. Nick pointed out they can move forward since, “we have a bride, we have a groom, we have someone to make it legal,” but Bridget shot that idea down, replying, “You pretty much described my first wedding.” The wedding was postponed and Nick quipped, “We’ll call this a trial run.” Once the guests left, Bridget broke down. Nick refused to let her give up on them and soon they were all smiles and kisses again.
At the hospital, Ridge awoke just as Thomas arrived and finally told him, Brooke, Stephanie and Eric whom he saw. Once again, the episode closed with the name Taylor.

Bridget looked so beautiful as she walked the aisle with her father that Nick finally stopped fidgeting in his tux. After sweet words were shared, Nick kicked the wedding into gear by saying the romantic phrase, “Let’s make it happen cap’ain.”
Meanwhile, a “mysterious” woman watched on from outside the gates, her hands twisting nervously. Even under the pink veil, there was something familiar about those blue eyes.
The ceremony continued, recognizing the union of Bridget and Nick’s “splendid, steady hearts,” as well as the union of the two families, which is just what Sally and Clarke where discussing at Spectra. Clarke had burst into Sally’s office to find a handsome officer awaiting him. Of course, it was Sally in drag again. The diva was ready to crash the wedding as the commander of the SS Marone, but Clarke told her, “This is the most important day of their lives. Don’t ruin it.” Surprisingly, she listened to him, but only after saying it would take an act of God to do that.
Cut back to the mysterious woman and the wedding. After Rick read an excerpt from Wuthering Heights and Stephanie a poem by e.e. cummings, the priest said he’s never seen a couple more in love, to which Nick responded, “And you never will.” They exchanged “I dos,” followed by vows. After Bridget spoke, Nick admitted, “Wow. It’s going to be a little tough to top that,”
but of course he measured up, calling her heart the “most precious cargo on Earth.” He did let one joke slip, but by the end, even the old sailor was misty eyed.
As Brooke and Ridge passed on the rings for the final moment, Ridge’s antenna went up, but no one else seems to notice anything amiss. Nick repeated the words, “This ring symbolizes the unending union of my life with yours. Your dreams are my dreams. Your hopes are my hopes. Your affection is my joy, your love is my blessing. Take this ring as a token of my abiding love and faithfulness.”
He slipped the ring half way onto her finger, but alas, there was a scream! Everyone froze — Nick still holding Bridget’s hand and the ring — and Ridge went to investigate. He found the mysterious woman struggling with a masked man dressed in black. Looking directly into her veiled face, he closed the episode with one powerful word: “Taylor.”
