Lily fretted over Damian talking to Luke, but Damian insisted he do it before Luke teams up with Holden. Then Luke walked in and Lily left. “Just you and me, Dad,” Luke observed. Damian expressed regret for abandoning him, but Luke said he’s not gay because of that. “I’m gay because I’m gay.” Damian assured his son he’s not trying to “fix” him, he just wants to be a bridge between Luke and Lily. Luke was skeptical. “I hardly even know you,” he scoffed. “I love you…the way you are,” Damian said. “I’d like to help, son. I owe you that much.” Damian suggested that Holden and Lily felt blindsided by Luke’s sudden revelation. He asked permission to share what they’ve talked about with Lily, and Luke agreed. Later, Damian told Lily Luke is very confused, so they can’t “give up” on him.

Lucy literally ran into Jennifer at the Lakeview, and told her she already ran into Dusty — and Johnny — at the hospital, which flustered Jen. Lucy congratulated her on getting married, and apologized for Craig giving her a hard time; she doesn’t want things to be awkward between them. Jen said if they are awkward, it won’t be because of Craig. (awk-waaaaard!!). Lucy admitted she was hesitant about coming to Memorial, but she misses having a brother and, while it won’t replace Bryant, she wants to be a part of Johnny’s life. Lucinda sauntered up to greet her “granddaughter, the doctor,” and explained that Lucy took the accelerated program (more like warp-speed program!) before Jen excused herself. Lucinda was surprised to learn Lucy had already seen Dusty, and asked what Lucy was up to? Dr. Montgomery revealed that Craig writes to her from prison, but she doesn’t reply. Lucinda suggested Dusty and Jen are happy, and Lucy insisted she’s okay with that. Lucinda revealed that Jen had a breakdown because of Paul, but Dusty saved her. Then she wondered if Dusty was a factor in Lucy’s return to Oakdale, but Lucy assured her he was not. At Memorial, Dusty bonded with Johnny. (Boy scouts) Jen said she ran into Lucy, and Dusty marveled that she was a doctor already. Jen asked if Lucy staying at the Lakeview is a problem, but Dusty assured her he loves only Jennifer. Jen fretted over Lucy being involved in her half brother’s life, but Dusty pointed out she won’t have time to meddle. Jen said she trusts Dusty, but is afraid Lucy isn’t over him. Meanwhile, Lucy got the 411 on Lucinda’s health, and promised that her reasons for being in Oakdale are strictly professional. Lucinda invited Lucy to live with her, and she accepted — but secretly kept her hotel reservation.

A tearful Katie dropped the gun after shooting Nick in front of an incredulous Mike, who tried to comfort his cousin. “I’m sorry,” Nick croaked. In the cave, Jack comforted Carly, who feared she wouldn’t make it, but Jack reassured her with a story about the day Sage was born. Suddenly, Margo entered the cave, saying the medics were on the way with emergency gear, but now she’s tracking Nick’s cell.

Back at the cabin, Mike urged Nick to hang on, and Margo suddenly appeared there, but this time with medics. “What’s wrong with him?” Katie wailed (Um, you SHOT him, you bimbo!). She offered to go with Nick, but Mike barked, “I don’t want you!” Katie fretted over Mike’s anger and asked Margo if she’s in trouble. She recounted what happened, and Margo was stunned to learn Katie had shot Nick. Later, Carly was wheeled into the hospital, groggy and babbling to Jack, who revealed the wedding ring she dropped led him to her. Luckily, Carly had no broken bones. Jack saw Nick wheeled in and asked Mike what happened. Mike didn’t want to answer, but Katie appeared and confessed. She was upset that Mike won’t talk to her ever since she shot his cousin in the chest. (Go figure…) Margo appeared and said she’ll take statements later, but “all the evidence points to self-defense.” (What evidence? She hasn’t even taken statements yet!)

At the Snyder home, Luke appeared for their chat, and Lily poured him a coffee. Damian admitted he was happy to have all three of them together. Suddenly, Holden strolled in. “Somebody want to tell me what’s going on here?” he demanded.

Back at Memorial, Mike came from Nick’s room, and Katie asked if he’s okay. “No, Katie,” Mike tearfully announced. “He’s dead.”
