Craig suddenly appeared at the farm, so Emily fled. Meg warned him away from
Paul’s hospital room, making him suspicious. Still, he invited her to the
New Year’s Eve party. Meanwhile, Emily bought a box of blanks and planted
them in the bar at Fairwinds. Wouldn’t you know it, Craig brought Meg to
Fairwinds to get a slinky black dress for the party, so Emily hid (none too
quietly). Meg told Craig she changed her mind about the party to give Emily
time to get there as an alibi. Craig invited her to spend the night with him
drinking wine, forcing her to squeal to stop him from reaching into the bar
where the blanks were hidden. She pointed out it was midnight and kissed
him.

Gwen told Maddie she quit the music business to attend school with Will. “Did something happen between you and Adam?” Maddie asked. “It was just a kiss,” Gwen answered.
Meanwhile, Will and Adam sparred over that same kiss. Adam urged his brother
not to punish Gwen. Will told Gwen if she quit he’d hate himself, and he
understands about kiss. So they kissed, then Gwen told Adam she’s back and
sang a song at Crash. Outside, Maddie commiserated with Elwood. Casey
arrived and Adam let Casey slide on telling their parents about his gambling
problem. Elwood asked Casey to gamble again, but he resisted. At midnight,
everybody kissed. Gwen watched Adam and Jade, and he noticed her noticing
him.

Katie laid claim to the diamond Bob held. Simon wandered at the fringes of
Bob and Kim’s party. Then Carly arrived — with Jack and Parker, followed by
Lily, Holden and their kids. Lily warned Simon not to make a scene. Casey
and Elwood set up the sound system, and Casey fretted over telling them about
his gambling problem. Bob loaned Katie the diamond — until midnight. She
told Henry that once Jack sees it he’ll arrest Simon. Henry tried to talk
her out of revenge, but she suspected Simon put Henry up to this. Parker
goaded Jack into dancing with Carly, but Katie summoned Jack away. So Simon
summoned Carly to his room. Bob and Kim introduced Holden and Lily, who
tripped the light fantastic on the dance floor. Faith had little faith her
parents had truly reconciled. Carly appeared at Simon’s door and they
kissed. As Jack watched, Henry summoned his fence, who identified the
diamond as belonging to the royal necklace Simon heisted. Jack arrested her,
and Katie urged him to go upstairs and nab Simon. Carly, meanwhile, tried to
break it off with Simon, who promised her, “We have nothing to worry about.”
So they embraced and began undressing each other. Downstairs, Emily
interrupted Tom and Margo’s kiss for “a matter of life and death”.
