Dr. Bob stopped by Lucinda’s to visit his old friend and offer support. He was surprised that she had not told him the news about her illness and explained Sierra had asked him to look in on her. “My body has betrayed me!” Lucinda confided and questioned if she would be able to survive this. Bob admitted that she had a fight ahead of her, but if anyone could beat this disease she could. After a reassuring visit with Bob, a masseuse arrived from the hospital and informed Lucinda that she was cancer-free and did not have surgery or chemotherapy. The masseuse, afraid of losing her job, was reluctant to explain herself, but after being assured of her discretion she sat down with Lucinda and began to reveal her secret.

After a flying lesson Keith and Luke met up with Holden who grew suspicious of Keith’s occupation after finding out how secretive he is about his work. Keith excused himself to take a phone call from his mysterious cohorts, assuring them he had everything under control After Luke invited him for dinner Holden explained to his relentless son that things were not going to be the way they used to be. Once Keith returned, Holden sent Luke out to the car giving him the opportunity to question exactly what the details of Keith’s employment are. After getting the runaround from the pilot, Holden made it clear that he is watching every move he makes.

Casey shocked Margo and Tom by coming home and asking to study abroad for his senior year. The suspicious parents questioned what was motivating their distant son to fly the coop. After blaming his sudden urge to spread his wings on Celia leaving town they agreed to think it over. Over at Al’s, Margo and Tom begin to piece the puzzle together without even realizing it. Ultimately deciding to trust Casey’s judgement.

At the courthouse, Carly and Jack looked on as the issue of Rory’s father came center stage. Under pressure from the judge Gwen stunned the courtroom by shouting out “Casey Hughes, he’s my child’s father!” Carly wondered if she heard right and Gwen exploded when the hearing was delayed to assure Casey’s rights as the father. “He has no rights.” she said tearing up as Carly was granted temporary custody until the next hearing. Gwen hightailed it out of the court to warn Casey, but not before shooting death rays at Carly. Realizing naming Casey as the father only strengthens Gwen’s case, Carly wanted to convince Tom and Margo that they were the best home for the baby. Jack refused saying it was up to Casey to inform his parents about the increasingly complicated situation. After Jack took off for the station the wheels started turning in Carly’s head and she reached for her phone….. Back at the Hughes kitchen Casey received a shot to the gut when Gwen told him that their secret was out. “I can’t believe this,” he said over and over barely listening as Gwen explained what had just happened in court. Casey asked her to drop the custody suit and let Carly have the baby. “Grow up and deal with it” Gwen told Casey just as Carly was calling Margo telling her she should speak to Casey ASAP. Setting the wheels in motion, Carly was headed out of the courtroom when Iris showed up with threats coming out of her mouth and dollar signs in her eyes. The only thing boiling back at the Hughes’s was Casey’s temper when he snapped at Gwen just as Tom and Margo showed up and demanded to know what going on. With his back against the wall, Casey couldn’t bring himself to admit the truth so Gwen dropped the bomb for him, flooring Tom and Margo.
