Paul and Meg kissed and ripped each other’s clothes off, then he thew her down on the bed in her room at the Lakeview. Meg slammed on the breaks and reminded him that he was married, then asked him to leave. He wondered what was wrong and she said she refused to get involved with another unavailable man. “If you say you slept with Emily to save me, I swear I will slug you,” she huffed. “Just don’t shoot me,” he cracked. Paul told Meg all the reasons why he liked her, then asked her to tell him why she liked him. She played along, then Paul revealed he has fallen in love with her. She smiled and admitted she loved him, too. He asked her when she knew. She said that she had loved Dusty ever since she was a teenager and when she thought Paul had killed him, all she wanted to do was protect Paul, so that’s when she knew she loved him. Paul said he knew the sixth or seventh time she said she hated him. Paul begged Meg to leave town so Emily couldn’t hurt her. Paul had to get back to Emily, and Meg thought the key to finding Dusty may be Henry. They kissed and he took off.

Meanwhile, at the deserted farmhouse, Emily demanded that Dusty strip down. “Not tonight honey, I got a headache,” he replied. “It’s been awhile. Promise to be gentle?” She forced him at gunpoint to change into fresh clothes. She mentioned she wanted his blood-stained clothes. Dusty wondered why and warned her that she is walking into Paul’s trap. Emily got mad, tied him back up and took off. Emily met up with Henry in the Lakeview parking garage and demanded that he break into Meg’s car. She then put a bag in Meg’s backseat and forced him to call Meg. Henry relented and asked Meg to meet him at the Old Mill. Meg got pulled over on the way to meet him, the police searched her car and found the bag of bloody clothes. Meg was arrested and maintained that she didn’t know who the clothes belonged to.

At the cottage, Mike told Katie he hid the jewels in the basement of Jack and Carly’s house (he lived there when he was younger). Katie didn’t think he had any reason to fret about the book drawing attention to him but Mike didn’t want to spend the rest of their lives looking over their shoulders. Mike decided he had to go to the police. Katie suggested they get the rubies back from Jack and Carly’s and return them to the rightful owners instead. Mike thought it was crazy, and Katie got upset that her book might land Mike back in jail. Katie promised to help Mike get into Jack and Carly’s.

Meanwhile, Carly and Jack almost kissed but her unwilling partner-in-crime, Sage, dropped the boiler valve. Jack got angry and told Sage to get her jacket so he could take her to Emma’s. Jack accused Carly of still lying to him to get what she wants. Carly blamed him for making her so desperate and she vowed to do everything she could to save their marriage. “We promised each other forever,” cried Carly. “I never lied about that, did you?” She warned him that if he pushed her too far and too hard, there will be no going back. Sage came back downstairs and Jack said there was no going back. Jack told her to sign the separation papers and left with Sage. Carly sobbed on the couch, then Katie showed up. Carly slammed the door in her face. Katie stormed in and Carly went to call the police, but Katie said it was about Mike. Carly hung up the phone and Katie offered to buy Carly a cup of coffee at Java. Carly and Katie took off, and Katie unlocked the door on the way out. Mike snuck in and headed downstairs to find the rubies. At Java, Katie told Carly that Mike wanted her at their wedding and she hoped they could be friends again. Carly said there would be no friendship between them and told her not to come to the house again, then took off. Katie chased Carly home and they heard a noise coming from the basement. Mike kept knocking down the wall…until he found the skull of a woman.

At the police station, Jack blasted Paul for all of his lies and then Paul revealed he needed a restraining order against Meg. Jack said there was obviously something between Meg and Paul, and Emily knows it too. Jack told Paul he would get him the restraining order, for Meg’s sake. A smug Emily showed up and she and Paul were there when Meg was brought in. Paul vowed to find out what was going on.
