Apprentice 3 Update #17
She’s hired! THE APPRENTICE’s pulse-pounding third season wrapped up in the heart of Manhattan with Donald Trump hiring Kendra Todd at the live, and lively, finale May 19.
After what could be the longest recap in reality-show history, which served as a tribute to Kendra and Tana, the last big (apple) boardroom began in New York University’s Jack H. Skirball Center for the Performing Arts. Greetings were shoved aside, as Mr. Trump immediately noted his displeasure at Tana’s publicly degrading her final-task teammates and his delight at Kendra’s take-charge success in the last two tasks.
Mr. Trump made it very clear that each woman should be proud to be there, but was a little tougher on Tana throughout the event. The Street Smarts candidate made sure to mention that her team won the Pontiac Solstice challenge because she made the brochure round, not because of Project Manager Kendra’s round-the-clock, amazingly fruitful labors. She drove the crowd to a round of boos.
Before learning of The Donald’s decision, Book Smarts rep Kendra (who spoke more calmly and strongly than the articulate but overenthused Tana) elected to reconstruct his beachfront Palm Beach Mansion in Florida, a fine choice for this right-nearby Boynton Beach resident and much better than organizing the Miss Universe Pageant (an option which Tana gleefully chose).
With only a few minutes left in the broadcast — who would it be? Not wild about Kendra’s crying at the end of her video game competition about her colleagues’ enormous support but calling the tears “beautiful” — and having smiled at her analogy to a 300-pound Super Bowl winner — Mr. Trump made Kendra his third Apprentice, and first female one. Her touchdown garners her a year-long job working for the major magnate’s company, a car (a Solstice, natch — and yes, she previously taped climbing into it outside the theatre) and the respect of millions of viewers…and her new fellow Trump employees.
Congrats to Kendra, who we predicted would make the final four!
