Apprentice 3 Update #13

Comments

As the tiny but still powerful APPRENTICE teams geared up for their next task on the April 21 episode, the mood in the much less crowded suite was quiet, and according to Alex, a little…different. On the night of their escape from the boardroom, Alex hung out and enjoyed cigars and drinks with Bren in a swanky NYC club, each man telling the confessional cameras they found one true friend in the massive job interview, or as Alex labeled it, “This vast imbecilic land.”

Back to work early the next morning, Net Worth’s attorney duo battled the Magna trio in the production of a solution for office clutter. Staples executives and office managers would judge the fruits of the five candidates’ nearly non-stop labors. Would the day bring something earth-shaking or team-breaking?

Project Manager Alex and Bren bravely soldiered on without meeting the two Staples execs and with little luck amassing a focus group (tough to do by basically flipping through a phone book and pointing). Tana watched Magna’s PM Craig condescend to Kendra as the group created a four-sided file carrier.

Magna commendably stored away its issues to present its product, smilingly spinning the contraption on a lazy Susan while putting on a little skit. The spectators in suits looked very pleased. The NW guys were thrilled with their huge storage container on wheels, which offered a compartment for everything, including in/out baskets under glass. Eyebrows remained unraised. Once again, Magna was the victor. As the Staples slogan goes, “That was easy.”

The designers of Net Worth’s wheeling wonder were probably pleased to see their product in the boardroom, until Mr. Trump called it “crap” — apparently not fazing the proud Alex and Bren. They still kept their cool when the all-media magnate threw in a mention of his trouncing rivals Richard Branson and Mark Cuban in the reality show race. After Alex gave a strong, articulate, self-aware speech, his buddy Bren didn’t stick up for himself as much as he had planned, and was the latest to be fired. Close, but no cigar.

Meet Mr. Trump’s final four candidates: Alex and Kendra (two of our original picks for the final four!) join Tana and Craig.

SOAP OPERA WEEKLY’s Predictions for the Final Four (Two made it!):
Alex: His theology and Latin degrees alone reveal his impressive mind, and his solid speaking — and lobbying — skills will please Mr. Trump.

Brian: He’s got the creativity and business acumen, having made a million from selling glow-in-the-dark necklaces.

Kendra: This entrepreneur and talk radio show host may prove to be one of the most resourceful and dedicated players.

Tara: Watch this one — her NYC know-how and heavy management experience should keep her on the successful side.

The dark horses: lively Angie and tough Bren!
