At the bar, Kendall came onto Ryan as Babe and a hidden Greenlee looked on. Just as Greenlee was about to pounce, Babe stopped her. This was all a part of Kendall’s plan. Ryan provided Kendall with many compliments about her beauty, but he loved Greenlee and he had heard enough. “Don’t try to play me,” he warned and left. With that, Greenlee jumped up from behind the bar and threatened Kendall with a beer bottle. Babe stopped them before a catfight could ensue, though, and Kendall laughed off Greenlee’s jealousy. “I have a marriage proposal from Zach Slater, a broken engagement with Ethan and I just hooked up with JR. What the hell do I need with Ryan in my life?” she asked. The camera panned to a shocked Babe who tried to warn Kendall away from JR.

At the airport, Maddie and Sam were getting ready to skip town. Unfortunately, Sam ran right into Zach. Oops! It didn’t take long for Zach to figure out they were running away. Zach had the airline stop Sam and Maddie from leaving. While Sam managed to get away, Maddie wasn’t fast enough… Jamie took Brooke back to Tad’s place. But before he could get his mom to relax, Maria burst in and was furious. “You stole my kids and I want them back,” she demanded, blaming Brooke for her children’s disappearance. Jamie immediately told Maria to back off his mom and informed her of Brooke’s most recent loss. When Tad returned home, he had a little one-on-one with Maria. Maria felt horrible and berated herself for her recent actions. Tad comforted her though, and assured her he would help find her children. He instructed her not to worry because “Sam and Maddie are good kids.” (Obviously Tad doesn’t watch AMC. Those are NOT good kids.) Later on, Maria apologized to Brooke for everything, and Tad got a call that the kids had been located. They headed over to the PVPD where Maddie pointed a finger at Zach, “He tried to kidnap me and Sam!” she accused.

Erica, Lily, and Reggie waited on Jack, who was late for the wedding walk-through. Once Jack arrived, the wedding rehearsal didn’t exactly go as planned. Erica and Jack first bickered about a camera crew filming the wedding for Erica’s new show, and then the troubles continued when a psychologist Jack hired to speak with Greenlee arrived. “You’re having your own daughter brainwashed?!” berated Erica. Cue the fight about Kendall and Greenlee’s respective love lives. Reggie tried to get through to Jack and Erica, and while it seemed like it worked, the episode ended with Erica confiding to Kendall, “I’m not sure I can go through with this wedding.”

In the midst of Sam running away, he came upon something inside of a tree. An animal? A kite? A bee hive? Nope, it was Lily, hiding in her safe place…. Back at Tad’s place, Brooke opened the door to Adam who greeted her with: “You saved my life!” (How does everyone know she is over at Tad’s?)… Greenlee returned home to Ryan, apologized for disappearing and the duo curled up together on the sofa. They then exchanged surprises. Greenlee gave her hubby a pair of sunglasses, but Ryan’s surprise wasn’t something that could be gift wrapped. “Let’s get a divorce,” he declared.

When Babe showed up to work at the roadside bar, she found Ryan there, slumped over the remains of his all-night binge. Babe asked Ryan how “the baby” is doing (meaning Miranda), and he had an adverse reaction, demanding that she never bring up children with him again. Babe offered to serve as Ryan’s confidante; he stated that all he wanted her to serve him was another beer….

JR went ballistic when he found Amanda Dillon in his bed. Not recognizing her as his childhood friend and Hayley’s cousin, he accused her presence as being orchestrated by Babe to make him appear to be an unfit father… In the courtyard outside the Chandler mansion, Tad expressed to Di that he felt like he knew her before and they had a pleasant chat about how she’s adjusting to life at the Chandlers. Tad became sensitive when Di steered the conversation in the direction of Dixie. JR barged in to accuse Tad of planting that “teen hooker” in his bed. Tad was befuddled — until Amanda rushed up to give him a hug. When Tad explained to JR the true identity of his mystery guest, JR’s jaw dropped. JR apologized to Amanda, who explained that Hayley had told her it would be cool to stay at the mansion while she did a session of summer school at PVU. “This is where you feign humanity and invite her to stay,” coached Tad. Di and Amanda left to get Amanda settled in and JR and Tad did another round of battle over the “Could Dixie be alive?” question. JR accused Tad of hitting on Di; Tad confirmed that he was at the mansion to check her out, just not in that way. But, said Tad, his background check on Di had turned up no dirt — she was as well-reputed as she’d purported to be. After a brief bonding session with Amanda, Di returned downstairs for a quip-filled exchange with Tad about the monstrosity of Adam and JR. Di continued to make a positive impression on Tad, while JR made nice with bubbly Amanda….

At the Valley Inn dining room, Maria pointed out to Zach that she had left the awards ceremony with Ethan to hurt him and that Ethan had gone with her for the same reasons. She urged the men to make peace and said she was done with being a pawn in their war. Once alone, Ethan proposed to Zach that they declare a truce, but Zach refused to comply unless Ethan signed over the entirety of Cambias Industries to him, which Ethan flatly turned down as an option. Maria returned to Wildwind and was tormented by the voices of Ethan, Brooke, Zach et al. The doorbell rang; it was Myrtle, there to offer her friendship to Maria. A grateful Maria embraced her and welcomed her inside. Myrtle assured Maria that everyone had a drunken meltdown at some point in their lives. They had a nice heart-to-heart, then Myrtle gently broke the news that Maria’s sloshed acceptance speech had made the tabloids. Shortly thereafter, a phone call (followed up by the discovery of a note from her kids) alerted Maria that Sam and Maddie had run away….

Greenlee summoned Kendall away from her confab with Zach and Ethan to report that Ryan has spent his second consecutive night away from home. Kendall pointed out that she’d warned Greenlee against trying to get pregnant by Ryan without his consent. “I’ll have ‘Kendall told me so’ carved on my tombstone, all right?” Greens groaned. Greenlee asked Kendall to talk to Ryan on her behalf, and Kendall questioned her pal about whether she regretted trying to trick Ryan or regretted getting caught. Greenlee answered that she won’t apologize for wanting a child with her husband. Kendall pledged to function as Greenlee’s secret weapon. Babe called Greenlee and once she stopped Greens from hanging up, she told her about the state Ryan was in and Greens prepared to tear off after him. Kendall talked her out of going alone and when the ladies showed up at the bar, Greenlee hid while Kendall sidled up to Ryan. She probed Ryan to ‘fess up about the state of his marriage. When Ryan discouraged Kendall from marrying Zach, noting that Zach wasn’t and couldn’t be her soulmate, as he doesn’t possess one, Kendall pressed him further: Was his own marriage over? If so, she purred, perhaps they could try again? From her hiding spot, Greenlee’s eyes flashed with outrage.Wednesday, May 4, 2005
Ethan woke up in bed beside Kendall. “Zach can have Cambias,” he cooed in her ear. “I have you.” A smiling Kendall rolled over and was stunned to see JR nibbling her shoulder. Ethan was a dream. “No regrets?” JR asked. “No, not one,” she answered. Obviously. JR proposed, “I want to be the best man at your wedding to Zach.” Kendall noted that if she marries Zach she can give Chandler Enterprises back to JR. JR encouraged her to marry Zach. Winifred brought breakfast, a newspaper and the news that Ethan showed up last night, but she told him Kendall and JR “had retired” for the night. JR needled Kendall about him, but — over a plate piled extremely high with food — she insisted she and Ethan are finished; she saw him take Maria to his suite. Besides, Ethan didn’t bust down JR’s door. “We’re through!” she snorted. Then JR got a call from one of Ethan’s flunkies. “I’ve just been fired,” he mouthed. A nonplussed JR asked Kendall to get back back Chandler for him. “What’s yours is yours,” she replied. “What’s yours is mine,” he countered with a kiss. But Kendall extracted herself, saying she had somewhere to be.

In a different bed, a hungover Maria awoke to see Zach. “It’s foggy,” she groans about last night before recalling she said “stupid things. Oh, my God, oh, my God!” Realizing she’s in Ethan’s suite, she remembered leaving with him in an attempt to hurt Zach. Mission accomplished, Zach copped. He booted Ethan from the room earlier. “I don’t want Ethan,” Maria whined. “I want you.” Zach said he understood Ethan was just trying to hurt him by going after her. Zach lamented that he didn’t know if Kendall would marry him. Maria asked about last night. “You said some terrible things about yourself,” he remembered, “and blamed yourself for Edmund.” But Zach insisted everyone makes bad choices, even him. But he did have one good idea: ordering room service on Ethan’s tab. (Hello, minibar!) And a new outfit for her. Maria copped to fearing she “killed all the feelings that we had for each other,” and thanked him. “You’re welcome,” he smirked, and left.

Di told David that Babe recognized her, and Di wondered if Babe is right to fear Di is “a danger to that beautiful little baby.” David assured Di that her ex-husband left for the Far East, but she is still troubled. “If you have a bomb to drop, Di, let’s have it.” Bombs away! “I’m starting to have a soft spot for JR” she confessed. “That’s fantastic,” enthused David, who believed she can manipulate JR more easily now.

Outside Phoebe’s hospital room, Adam gripped his torso and griped about missing Colby’s birthday. Tad assured Babe that Di is “clean as a whistle,” but Babe was still worried. Then a tearful Brooke stepped out of Phoebe’s room to announce, “She’s gone.” Brooke said her aunt regained consciousness long enough to say goodbye. “Leave it to Phoebe to get in the last word,” Tad chuckled. Before collapsing into Tad, Brooke relayed that Phoebe said Langley was waiting for her, “We’ll see her again, and she loves us all.” Adam tried to comfort her, but Brooke pulled him aside. Tad excused himself, and Jamie told Babe, “Phoebe and I got close the last couple of years.” Babe suggested, “She sounds really old school. Wonder that she would think of me?” Jamie admitted he was confused by Phoebe’s last words. “She made me promise that whenever a wonderful surprise comes my way, I should reach out and grab it.” Elsewhere, Brooke confronted Adam about not wanting to see a doctor, and insisted she was not sticking around to watch him play Russian roulette. “I just watched two people in my life die within months of each other. And if you think I’m going to stand by and watch you line up to make it three, you are sadly mistaken,” she ranted. He was more upset about Colby’s birthday. “Maybe next year you’ll be dead and then you won’t have to bother worrying about a gift for her,” Brooke spat. “Death is here,” she cried. “It’s everywhere, and you’re inviting it to dinner. I am sick to death of death.” Brooke warned him: Get help or you’re on your own.

Ethan was bellying up to the bar when Ryan walked in. “You warned me about Kendall; I was a fool not to listen,” Ethan lamented. Apparently Ethan is trying to bury his sorrows over Kendall in a giant pile of peanut shells. Ryan has no sympathy. “”ure, she has baggage the size of Texas, but she deserves a hell of a lot better than you,” he sneered. Ethan told Ryan about Kendall and JR. When Ryan countered by reminding Ethan of him and Maria, Ethan replied, “Whatever happened between Maria and I doesn’t change the fact Kendall and I love each other.”

Back at the Chandler manse, Tad confronted Di: “Why do I feel like I know you?” Upstairs, JR spotted a woman in his bed and assumed it was Kendall. When he nuzzled her, she screamed. Oops! Who’s that girl?

In the dining room, Kendall met with Zach. “I want to marry you,” she pronounced. “Today.”

Ryan barged into Tad’s for a report on Erin’s whereabouts. Tad explained that she’s gone missing within the last two months. Ryan was aghast, fearful that Jonathan got to Erin and killed her. Tad, who was nursing some bitterness about his predicament with Dixie and the Jane Doe, promised Ryan that he would find Erin. Tad got a call from Jamie, who had alarming news to report. When Tad got off the phone and turned around to fill in Ryan, he was gone. Later, Ryan knocked on a mysterious door, where a woman answered ominously, “I thought you’d be back”… Brooke panicked as Adam suffered another TIA. Brooke got on phone to summon help and described Adam as incoherent; he snapped back to reality in time to dismiss her account of what had happened. “Do you remember who I am?” she asked. “You’re my favorite ex-wife!” he chirped. Adam tried to distract her; she grilled him about his blood pressure, medications, and trips to the doctor, but when he was evasive, Brooke deduced that he was no longer taking his prescriptions. Brooke resolved to drag him to the hospital. “Nothing is happening to me,” he swore. He attempted to make light of the situation and hit on her, she responded by picking up an oar and threatened to bash him with it, given that she straight-up refused to lose another man she (once) loved. Later, when Adam reluctantly joined Brooke at the hospital, Jamie burst in and when he saw Brooke, exclaimed, “Mom, thank God you’re here!” He then gently broke the news to Brooke that Aunt Phoebe collapsed and had been rushed to the hospital. “They don’t know if she’s going to make it,” said Jamie to a tearful Broooke….

Erica continued to try to convince Zach to go upstairs and interrupt the action between Ethan and Maria. “The woman you love is as drunk as a skunk!” she pleaded. “Zach, you can stop this!” Jack entered and told off Zach, leading to a clash between Jack and Erica. Erica’s meddling irked Jack, but made perfect sense to her: “If Zach goes back to Maria, Kendall will be safe!” Erica lamented that Jack’s approach to Zach was destined to backfire, resulting in Kendall becoming ever more determined to wed Slater. Erica was taken aback by the force of Jack’s fury toward Ryan and as they bickered over Jack’s overinvolvement in Ryan and Greenlee’s marriage, Mary (still on Palmer’s arm) interrupted to lend her support to Jack’s point of view. Erica pointed out to Jack that if he and Mary see eye to eye, he should rethink his position. She begged Jack to let Ryan and Greenlee muddle through their problems without his intervention. Jack insisted that Erica was wrong when she theorized he wanted to punish Ryan because he was the only Lavery around to take it. Their argument continued to escalate… At the Chandler mansion, Kendall and JR were in the midst of a hot make-out session. JR countered Kendall’s negative feelings about herself by pointing out that “after Babe, you’re a walk in the park.” His methods were so effective, she feared she would succumb to his advances and made a move to leave. He then stepped up the seduction, purring, “It’s a shame to waste all that beauty on an empty bed in an empty condo.” When he entreated her to get naked, she said she’d pass, but he talked her into taking a skinny-dip. Afterwards, JR offered to drive Kendall home, but she decided to stay. JR swept Kendall into his arms and carried her inside, presumably to commence a torrid lovemaking session….

A randy Maria passionately kissed Ethan and begged him to make her feel better. “You sure about this?” questioned Zach. Maria responded affirmatively, but when she looked at Ethan, it was Zach’s face she saw. Realizing this, Ethan pulled back. When he clued in Maria about his actual identity, she was confused and asks where Zach was. “I’m right here,” said Zach, who was standing in the doorway. Ethan enjoyed getting under Zach’s skin by insinuating that he’d bedded Maria; Zach responded by tossing Ethan out of the room and slamming the door behind him. Once alone with Zach, Maria expressed remorse for her performance at the awards ceremony. When he assured her it’s behind them, she mused about her desire to start their relationship anew. “Do we get to be together again?” she asked hopefully. “No,” he replied. “Do you not want me anymore?” she asked. He answered that only a fool wouldn’t want her, but that tonight, she should get some rest. Maria reluctantly complied, but when she referred to herself as Maureen, Zach looked at her wistfully and corrected, “No, you’re Maria.” Maria dozed for a while, then woke up and saw Zach sitting across the room. She urged him to join her in the bed, then passed out again. Zach continued to gaze at her and said aloud that he was sorry. Ethan, meanwhile, stumbled downstairs to the dining room and ran into Simone, who let it slip that Kendall had gone home with JR. Ethan raced to the mansion and caught Winifred picking up Kendall and JR’s discarded clothing, making plain what the duo was up to.Monday, May 2, 2005
A drunk Maria had a public meltdown as she accepted — or rather, refused to accept — Edmund’s Humanitarian award. She couldn’t accept it unless she was completely honest — and honest she was, with everyone from Brooke to Zach. Jack offered to take her home, but she balked. She didn’t want to be the next murder victim. Huh? Ah, Erica would have killed her if Jack took her home. “She would filet me like a salmon!” Maria exclaimed. It was Ethan who ended up leading a drunken Maria back to his hotel room. She tried to tell him she wasn’t as drunk as Ethan thought. (Oh, really?!) Then she opened up another bottle of champagne and starting talking about Zach, and what a horrible person she was. “He’s not worth one of your tears,” Ethan tried to comfort. By the end of the episode, Maria was pleading with Ethan to make love to her and the two fell back against the bed with their lips locked.

As if Maria’s public spectacle wasn’t enough, Jack and Ryan shared one of their own in front of the many Pine Valley citizens. Jack and Mary were both furious that Ryan didn’t know where Greenlee was, and they brought up Jonathan and Braden. Ryan insisted he wasn’t like his brothers. Jack pleaded with him to get some help, or Greenlee and their future children would pay the price. Ryan then announced to all of Pine Valley his desire not to reproduce and fled. So much for keeping your private business private.

After Maria blasted Brooke, Mary cornered Brooke in the ladies room. “If you know what is good for you, you’ll keep your hands off Adam,” Mary warned. Adam had a mind of his own, though, and was pounding on the door wanting to know how Brooke was. He took her to the boat house where she insisted she wanted to be alone and that she didn’t need him. “Shut up and let me take care of you,” he ordered and tried to comfort his once lady love. “Edmund was a fool to give up what he had with you,” Adam declared. “Is that your equivalent of whispering a sweet nothing?” she laughed. Yes. And as he explained he wanted to be there for her and to put the past behind them, she witnessed him having another heath scare.

Zach was upset that Kendall lured him to an event celebrating Edmund’s memory. Did he want to hear her answer to his proposal, though? “What I came for doesn’t matter anymore,” an upset Zach muttered to Kendall and left. Erica followed him and wondered why he wasn’t saving Maria from Ethan. She was worried about Maria and sorry for the pain she was in. “How could you possibly be sorry? You need a heart for that,” shot back. Apparently Erica thought Maria’s meltdown was a plea for Zach to reunite with her, and Erica tried to convince him to go after her… After Zach walked out on Kendall, JR pounced and lured her back to his place. He assured her he was behind her engagement to Zach 100 percent. She could marry him for business and share her pleasure with him. He shared his feelings for her and proposed that she have a little fun with him. It didn’t take too much to convince Kendall, and the two kissed…
