Ethan and Simone bumped into Ryan at the casino bar. Simone suspected that Ethan and Ryan had arranged to meet for some kind of “Zach attack”; the guys denied it. Ryan then asked what the phrase “pull the plug” meant to them, as Julia’s warning to Zach had placed emphasis on those words. After Ryan departed, Simone told Ethan about her own father issues and urged him to drop his vendetta against Zach; Ethan said that he already had…. Ryan broke into Zach’s office and began to snoop around. He turned up some highly curious documents…
Kendall observed that Zach was preoccupied and entreated him to tell her what was on his mind. He maintained that nothing was bothering him, but told him to stop when she began going on and on about what an amazing man he is. Zach told Kendall that he’s no hero, that his arrogance has blown up in his face. His comments didn’t make sense to Kendall until it dawned on her that perhaps he’d lied again. He allayed her concerns and they shared a lovey-dovey moment. Zach then left to check on things at the casino. Shortly thereafter, Kendall decided to follow…. Zach approached his office door, where Ryan was still inside.
Tad and Di pressed Amanda to tell them whatever she knows about the missing Pine Valley-ites. Jamie jumped to Amanda’s defense. Amanda insisted that she was innocent and Jamie ordered Tad to back off. Amanda thought that Jonathan was obviously responsible for the kidnappings. When Tad pointed out how ingenious the culprit must be, Amanda grew pale. Tad noticed but stopped pumping Amanda for info when he got a call telling him Joe’s cell phone location had been tracked. After everyone left, Amanda placed a frantic call to Janet.
Inside the cargo truck, Adam, Opal, Joe and Krystal yelped for help. Brooke pointed out that their captor was clearly already gone. The cargo began to shift, so the quintet realized that the truck was poised to make a plunge. Brooke, given her past experience with quicksand, recognized what the truck was sinking into. Fearing they might soon die, Adam apologized to Brooke for being an unfaithful husband; Krystal and Adam then complimented one another’s skill in the sack.
JR urged Babe to believe that together, they could get through anything. “You have no idea how low I could still sink,” she sighed. JR pointed out that they’ve both seen the worst of what each other is capable of. “What piece of nasty are you waiting to tell me?” he asked. She said that there had been times during their battles that she’d wanted to rip his heart out, which he replied came as no surprise. Babe was on the verge of confessing her plan to marry him for custody of the baby when Winifred entered with Little A., who’d had a bad dream. JR bolted when Tad called to report that Joe’s location had been pinpointed.
Janet, dressed as a clown selling balloons, approached Jonathan as he sat on the park bench. He hoped she was a hallucination, but she was all too real, she made it clear. Janet barked at Jon that unless he followed her orders, people would start to die. She insisted that he head to Willow Lake immediately in order to prevent a tragedy. Jon did as he was told and began to wrench open the truck door, then ran away. Janet, who had trailed Jon, lamented his inability to perform the job she’d given him. “Now all these people are going to die,” she sighed. As a hidden Janet watched, Jon returned with a better tool to jimmy open the truck. “What the hell are you doing?” questioned Tad, who had just arrived on the scene with JR and Jamie.
