Dixie watched, unseen, as JR brandished a gun on Krystal. Krystal tried to talk some sense into an increasingly unstable JR. Dixie fled before Tad burst in. Tad told JR that Janet is the one who took Little Adam and Babe, too, but JR still wouldn’t put down the gun, noting that Tad lacks credibility. Adam was the next to arrive. When he saw the scene before him, he bellowed, “Have you lost your mind, boy?” Adam freed Krystal from the ropes JR had tied her up with. After much pleading, the adults were still unable to convince JR that he’d pinned the blame for Little Adam’s disappearance on the wrong person. Dixie returned to the cabin and listened in on the action, but didn’t enter. When JR fired the gun at Krystal, she was uninjured — but the bullet did strike Dixie.

To save her hide (and her son’s hide), Babe tried to sell Janet on the idea of Babe becoming Janet’s daughter, but Janet wasn’t buying it. Babe sweetened the offer by vowing that she would never send Janet to the mental hospital. She entreated Janet to text JR an offer: Krystal in exchange for Little Adam. Janet was moved by Babe’s loyalty to her mom and thanked Babe for giving her a new family, then proposed a different plan: they go on the run without giving up Little A. Babe tried to fake joy at what was essentially Krystal’s death sentence. Janet then decided to take Little A. back to JR and insisted that Babe stay behind, locked in the cabin. Janet gave Babe permission to get some food from the freezer. When she opened the freezer, Babe was greeted with a gruesome sight: Trevor’s dead body.

Livia brought food over to the Kane/Montgomery mansion. Lily told Livia that she planned to divorce her father and needed an attorney, but Livia told Lily she didn’t have grounds for such a move. Livia explained to Lily her belief that Lily is too young to be with Jonathan. Lily wouldn’t answer Livia when she asked if Lily was thinking about marrying Jon.

From his hospital bed, Jack warned his unwelcome visitor (Jonathan) that he would kill him rather than let him near Lily. Jon helped himself to a seat and tried to convince Jack that he’d changed; Jack surreptitiously beckoned for help. Julia rushed in and ordered Jon to leave as Jack used the little strength he had to demand that Jon stay away from Lily. In the hallway, Julia (who passed her boards and was now on the nursing staff) was floored when Jon revealed his relationship with Lily. Julia tried to help Jon understand Jack’s point of view; he asked her to help him prove to people that he’d changed.

At Zach’s condo, Kendall blasted Slater for not attending Ethan’s funeral. Zach invited Kendall to attack him physically. She didn’t. Zach then told Kendall that he’d never been happier than he was with her. “Thank you,” she uttered. After telling Zach she wanted him to get out of town, Kendall stomped out. A highly agitated Kendall then raced to Ryan’s office, but wouldn’t accept his comfort. Ultimately, she allowed him to put his arms around her as she cried, and he began kissing her… Back at the casino, Zach packed up his office and glanced at his last will and testament — and a gun.

Livia went to the hospital to see Jack. Julia told her that Jack was too sedated to receive visitors. Livia reluctantly agreed to come back another time. Jon, meanwhile, filled out an application for a job at the hospital. Lily arrived in search of Julia and encountered Jon, who reported that he’d accidentally made matters worse with her father. Lily said it was good that Jon was getting a job, because she’d decided to marry him.
