Josh reeled from Erica’s whispered statement, “You can’t be my son.” La Kane was rushed off to the hospital, so Josh asked Greg if Erica had ever had a son. Greg demanded to know why Josh would ask such a question. Josh dismissed Greg as being obsessed with Erica and went off to chat with Joe, who praised him for coming to Erica’s rescue. Joe then shot quite a nasty look at Greg.
Zach tried to assure Simone that Ethan’s dementia would pass, but the reality was hitting Simone that Ethan might not make it, so Simone humored her dying beau by pretending that she, too, could see his mother. Zach didn’t care for this at all and lashed out at his son in an attempt to anger him into living. Simone reluctantly gave her blessing to Slater’s strategy. Zach then had a change of heart and delivered a heartfelt apology to Ethan for how he’d treated him. Zach begged Ethan for his forgiveness. Ethan told Simone that he loved her and that she was all he needed. Zach urged Ethan to pull through and asked him if they could start over. “Please, son,” he cried. “I will never forgive you,” said Ethan before he lost consciousness. Zach screamed out, “Somebody help us!” Kendall heard him.
Tad and Jamie worked to dig the mystery person out of the rubble, the mystery person being Dixie. David and JR joined in the effort…. Tad crawled into the area where Dixie had been, but no one was there. Tad found her mask, though, and recalled that the woman wearing that mask had refused to take it off when Kendall made everyone reveal their true identities…. Julia told Di, who was helping hand out supplies, to go home and take a break.
Aidan consoled Erin, who feared that Jon and Ryan were dead…. Lily told Jon she’d rather marry him than never see him again. They heard Erin and Aidan calling for them, but Lily told Jon to stay quiet; she didn’t want to go back if her dad was going to send her away. Lily concluded that their only option was to wed. Jon assured her they’d figure out a good plan, so they revealed their presence to Aidan and Erin…. Ryan called out Kendall on the fact that she only wanted to hook up with him to stick it to Zach. Kendall broke down over her terror about facing the future alone. Ryan promised Kendall that he would be there for her. He offered to move in with her if that’s what she really wanted. Before she could make up her mind, they heard Tad and screamed for help.
After the latest cave-in, Adam couldn’t get Krystal to breathe and feared that she was dead. He screamed for help. JR heard Adam’s cries and was terrified that Babe hadn’t survived. Babe, meanwhile, cried in vain for assistance…. David tended to Krystal after she and Adam were dragged from the rubble. Adam was clearly deeply affected by Krystal’s dire straits…. JR and Jamie exchanged harsh words over Babe…. Babe was finally discovered. Uh-oh! Her “savior” was Janet.
The hospital was a madhouse. Anita tended to Erica, who was overjoyed to see Reggie. Reggie fibbed to Erica that Jack was okay… Greg drove Lily to the hospital to see Jack. Before she left, Jon promised her that they’d see each other again…. Reggie and Lily reunited at the hospital…. Adam was frantic to find Krystal; Brooke helped him get info from a doc, who announced to Adam that his wife didn’t make it. Palmer accused Adam of being happy about Krystal’s death. Brooke ordered Palmer to stop. Adam demanded to see his wife and gained access to the morgue. He tearfully pulled back the sheet to gaze upon his wife’s “dead” face and swore to Krystal that he would never forget their final lovemaking, nor her. Krystal then began speaking: “It was good for me too.”…. Lily visited an unconscious Jack…. Erica came to at the hospital and caught a glimpse of Greg. “You took my child,” she spat.
Joe asked Tad how Erica reacted to Tad’s revelation about Josh’s identity…. JR and David were both heartbroken over their inability to find Babe.
An exhausted Di returned to Wildwind — and found Dixie there, waiting for her.
