Josh introduced Erica to his new assistant: Amanda. Erica immediately fired Amanda for making her miss an appointment with the head of ABC Daytime by sending her to the wrong location. Erica backed off after realizing who Amanda is and Josh backed up her claim that the mistake had not been on her end… Janet excitedly watched Amanda’s favorite TV show and generally showed herself to have fallen off the deep end… Josh convinced Amanda that her head injury made her slip up with Erica’s scheduling, even though he actually set Amanda up to fail…. Jamie saw Amanda at the hospital, where she was doing research on her symptoms. Jamie insisted to Amanda that he does care about her, so she told him about her slip-up at work. He offered to check with neurology on her behalf.
At the ice-skating rink, Zach tried to get Ryan to back off of Jonathan, which Slater said he’d do as soon as Jon stopped being a threat to Kendall. After Zach left, Jon told Erin and Ryan about a shameful incident in which he forgot what a key is used for and explained that he didn’t want Lily to know. They promised to remain silent. Erin came down hard on Ryan for having accused Jonathan of harming Kendall.
Julia apologized to Kendall for knocking the drink out of her hands, but explained that she was concerned about the baby. Kendall accused Julia of going after Ryan, which she denied. Julia told Kendall about her abortion; Kendall said she got the shopping gene in lieu of a maternal one. Zach then arrived and wasn’t pleased to see that Kendall was distressed. He asked his wife to talk to him for a minute. When Julia left, Kendall proferred the signed divorce papers. “Say the word and I’ll make it all go away,” said Zach as Erica left a supportive message on her daughter’s voicemail. Josh overheard and praised Erica for her strength. He also volunteered to dig up more dirt on Greg for Erica. La Kane left after thanking him. Josh then made another move to sabotage Erica…. Zach orderd two tickets to “the Islands,” one for himself and one for Kendall. She agreed to accompany him on their trip to get a divorce.
David stormed into the Chandler manse, concerned about Babe’s plan to wed and ditch JR. Krystal told David they had more immediate problems: Amanda. David was enraged by Krystal’s report that Amanda was responsible for pushing Babe down the stairs and headed to the hospital, where he grilled Amanda about how she pulled off her attacks on the Chandlers and Babe. “I have a beaker with your name on it, darlin’,” he declared. Amanda adamantly denied responsibility for Babe’s accident. Jamie walked in and heard David’s threats against Amanda, so he assured her that everything would be fine and told David he had the Amanda situation under control. Later, Ryan arrived and Amanda looked on as he asked Jamie where David was. Where he was, in fact, was unconscious and strapped to a gurney, about to get wheeled in for a double-bypass he didn’t need…
JR pulled Babe into a passionate embrace, assuring her there were no more games, no more tests. Babe pulled away from hitting the sheets with JR until he clarified his feelings for her. He didn’t want them to talk things to death; he wanted them to act. Another steamy kiss followed, but when they got horizontal, she cried, “I can’t do this!” She explained that she couldn’t risk sleeping with him knowing that his feelings for her might evaporate by tomorrow. “I can’t love you and lose you all over again,” she sighed. JR reluctantly got dressed and told Babe that they had nothing before exiting. JR paused outside his motel room and glanced back at Babe’s room.
