Ethan fretted over the bind he got himself into by lying to Kendall about Zach being Edmund’s killer. When JR showed up to talk up the idea of using the jailhouse snitch he’d located to further implicate Zach, Ethan explained that he planned to come clean about the lie, not perpetuate it. This didn’t agree with JR, who insisted to Ethan that since he didn’t ‘fess up to Kendall earlier, it would only make matters worse if he did so now. Later, a smug JR fantasized about Kendall crying on his shoulder after realizing Ethan had deceived her. In his reverie, of course, her heartbreak led to a steamy kiss. Meanwhile, the real Kendall was still stuck in the cave with Lily, Greenlee and Jonathan. Lily managed to get the gun away from Jonathan, but he manipulated her into relinquishing it. He returned the ladies to their cage and, determined to have everything go according to plan when Braden arrived, ranted and raved about the gals — about all women, in fact, “selfish vultures” one and all, in his opinion. “The last bit of cheese just slipped off his cracker,” grimaced Kendall to Greenlee. Convinced their death was imminent, Greenlee and Kendall started to make up, but their efforts at apology led to another session of bickering. At the end of the episode, a man’s voice intoned, “I’m here,” and Jonathan’s eyes grew wide….
Aidan and Tad convinced Zach to let them view the surveillance tapes of the night Ryan was shot. The men were shocked when the tapes seemingly confirmed Jonathan’s version of events — that Braden, who was seen on the tape, was all fired up and Jonathan was trying to stop him from shooting Ryan. Aidan admitted to Zach that the footage was at odds with the theory he and Tad had devised about the shooting. A knowing Zach said that if Aidan told him the theory, he’d fill in the blanks….
Jamie reported to Tad that Adam is hot on Liza and Colby’s trail, so Tad phoned an off-camera Liza to alert her….
Adam brought Little Adam over to Babe’s for a visit. His ulterior motive, which was obvious to Babe, was to get her to help him track down Liza and Colby. Adam tugged at Babe’s heart strings when he reminded her that while she gets to see her child three hours a week, he never gets to see Colby. Still, despite the strong pull of landing Adam as an ally in her quest for more time with her child and to free Krystal from jail, Babe refused to rat out Liza. A seething Adam told Babe that she’s an idiot and assured her that he would get his daughter back without her help….
When David offered to help Di get back on her feet now that she’s been sprung from jail, she mistook his interest in her as sexual. He assured her that wasn’t the case, but she turned down his offer nonetheless. Di then left the jail and made Babe’s acquaintance at a bus stop. After Babe left, Di was nearly run over by a car deliberately trying to mow her down….
David and Krystal faced off at the jail over his intent to deliver Liza’s whereabouts to Adam. Krystal warned David that if he played into Adam’s hands, he would lose her and Babe for good. After David left, a gaggle of malicious female inmates descended on Krystal.

At Fusion, Simone revealed to Ethan that she encouraged Kendall to administer a truth serum to him to test whether he’s fibbing about having seen Zach kill Edmund. Ethan insisted to Simone that he sincerely loves Kendall, so Simone beseeched Ethan to come clean with Kendall before he loses her forever. If she finds out he’s lying to her, Kendall “will hold a grudge until she’s called into the light,” Simone warned. Simone’s words clearly made an impact on a freaked-out Ethan. Alas, it was already too late, because in a series of dramatic scenes in the cave, Jonathan confirmed Lily’s revelation that he, not Braden, killed Edmund, though Jonathan insisted that he killed Edmund at Braden’s behest. Kendall flipped out, heartbroken that Ethan deceived her, and Greenlee worked overtime to keep Kendall from having a meltdown so major that it would result in her being shot and killed by Jonathan. The ladies then executed a new plan: taunting Jonathan to make him panic and easier to catch off-guard, then tackling him in the hopes of escaping….
At the hospital, Babe, JR, Joe, David and a cop were hashing out the matter of the drugs that had been found on David. David insisted that he had been framed, which Anita corroborated when she busted JR for stealing the keys to her medicine cart. Babe thanked Anita for clearing David’s name, but Anita made it clear she wanted nothing to do with Babe or David. “No one does sanctimonious like a Santos,” observed David. When Babe made another failed attempt to make peace with JR and brought up Dixie’s name, a lightbulb seemed to go off for an eavesdropping David….
At Wildwind, hell continued to break loose after the reading of Edmund’s will. Maddie and Sam tried to get Brooke to toss Maria out of the estate, but Brooke made it clear to the petulant kids that she expected them to respect and obey their mom. Livia tried to break through Maria’s denial over the man Edmund had become, seemingly to little avail. But after Livia left, Maria summoned Edmund’s personal trainer to Wildwind to suss out whether her late hubby could, indeed, walk at the time of his death. She was speechless when the trainer confirmed that he could….
Erica furthered her efforts to wrest Liza and Colby’s whereabouts from David by paying a visit to Krystal and encouraging her to get David to pony up the info. Krystal was somewhat tempted but decided against betraying Liza. The ladies then traded insults, including this winner from Krystal: “Your first book should have been called Hair-Raising Kane!” Frustrated by this encounter, Erica went to the gym to burn off her rage, but her personal trainer already had a session booked: with Brooke. Brooke was stunned when Erica said she thinks Edmund made a wonderful choice by putting Brooke in charge of his kids’ future. Back at the jail, Di (who had listened in on part of Erica and Krystal’s exchange) said farewell to Krystal, who was being released. Before Di could make it outdoors, David showed up and announced that he had an offer for her.

Adam showed up on Erica’s doorstep. Noting the bouquet she was holding, he begged his ex-wife not to make him wed her, “The third time might not be a charm,” he quipped. As La Kane busied herself with floral options pointedly ignoring him, Chandler asked her to get info about Colby and Liza from David. Erica saw an opportunity for a trade: her own TV show for women, NEW BEGINNINGS. “Women all over America will be gluing tiny Ericas to their dashboards,” teased Adam, who agreed to the deal….
At the hospital, JR and Palmer taunted David about his new gig as a janitor. Babe showed up and expressed her doubts that her dad would tell Adam where Liza and Colby are. Hayward promised to keep mum and vowed to help her get her child back. JR slithered up and mocked the duo’s hopes. He later planted highly addictive pain meds on David’s cart, which Joe found….
Maria was irritated to find Brooke in her home. Ms. English stunned Brooke with the news that she was advised to show up for the reading of Edmund’s will, which Maria had forgotten all about. A short time later, Maria was visited by Livia and Lloyd, Edmund’s divorce attorney. The lawyers informed a disbelieving Maria that Edmund had never dropped the divorce proceedings. Maria learned that Edmund left his fortune and Wildwind to Maddie and Sam. To Maria he left his “best wishes” and hopes that she’d get conjugal visits with Zach. Brooke fared better receiving Tempo stock, Grey’s Pulitzer and other things that made Maria cringe. But not as much as when she learned Brooke was also named executor of his will and trustee of the children’s estate. To make matters worse, Maddie and Sam smugly informed their mom she was now in their house….
Tad warned Ryan not to “go off on a savior trip.” (Isn’t it ironic?) During the conversation Ryan realized Braden wasn’t coming, sensed Greenlee was in danger and took off. Aidan turned up and gave Tad disturbing news about Braeden. The men rushed off to find Ryan….
To throw off Jonathan, captives Greenlee and Kendall staged an argument. The resulting high-pitched yapping and catfight caused Jonathan to enter the cave and the tiny women easily overtook him and knocked him out. Greenlee and Kendall then calmed down Lily, who was freaked out by the drama. Jonathan came to, grabbed his gun and aimed at the ladies. Lily pointed out that Jonathan couldn’t kill them without the shovel he “used to kill the man in the wheelchair.”

Ethan blew into Erica’s penthouse in search of information on Kendall’s whereabouts. Erica and Myrtle had no info to provide, but each took the opportunity to warn Ethan that his lying to Kendall would spell the end of their love affair. Erica dismissed Ethan and Kendall’s romance as the result of “two bad fathers and too many lonely nights”….
Zach went back to the charred remains of the Wildwind stables to have a mournful series of flashbacks about the good times he shared with “Maureen”, while Maria pressed Aidan for answers about the man Edmund had become prior to his death. She was devstated when Aidan revealed that he, Tad and Ryan believe that Braden, not Zach, killed Edmund. Later, Maria encountered Zach at the stables and apologized to him for believing Ethan’s version of events about Edmund’s death and not his. Zach walked away from her….
Wanting to protect Lily’s fragile emotions, Aidan warned Sam to steer clear of the girl, but Sam petulantly refused to take orders from Aidan….
After receiving a disturbing call from Jonathan, Ryan continued to wrestle with the meaning of Braden’s latest clue and had a frightening vision of his abusive childhood starring Greenlee as his boozy mom….
Braden took Jonathan to task for contacting Ryan….
Inside the cave, Kendall and Greenlee stopped sparring long enough for Kendall to help Greenlee through a bout of claustrophobia. Lily, Greenlee and Kendall then tried to escape from the cave, but Jonathan’s return stymied them.

Zach tracked Ryan and Tad to Atlantic City and explained his desire to bring Braden to justice….
Jonathan threw Kendall into the mineshfaft cage along with Lily and Greenlee. Greenlee suggested that Lily count Erica’s exes to stay calm as she worked to convince Jonathan that she’s on his side….
Ethan unwittingly played into JR’s hands when he asked JR for help in nailing Zach and keeping Kendall’s affections….
Babe was distressed when an extraneously shirtless Jamie gave her a laundry list of reasons she shouldn’t trust David….
Di was freaked out by David’s intense interest in her when they chatted at the prison. David was mesmerized by Di’s resemblance to Dixie and even called her by that name….
Ryan received a cryptic riddle from Braden — and a call from Jonathan.
