Much of Pine Valley gathered to remember Edmund as Maria accepted the Humanitarian Award on his behalf. And when that many Pine Valley denizens are in one room, things are bound to get interesting — and they certainly did. Palmer was there with Mary Smythe. (“The deeper she digs, the more I like it,” Palmer laughed.) Erica and Opal made up and the declared themselves gal pals again. Ethan conspired with Simone to get Kendall back. And Maria had just a little too much bubbly.

Things started off with a bang when Maria practically ran into Brooke, and she informed her that she would be presenting the award to Maria. Meow! Meanwhile, in the ladies room Erica tried her hardest to talk Kendall out of marrying Zach. Finished with Brooke, Maria entered the powder room and that’s where the real party began. Things quickly got nasty between Kendall and Maria. “Bring it on sister. If a couple of bitches with trust issues can’t let it rip, than who can?” Kendall quipped. Surprisingly, it was Erica who broke it up. After Kendall left, Erica tried to have a heart-to-heart with Maria (Yes, you read that right!) but was unsuccessful. Kendall continued to make her rounds and told a shocked JR that Zach asked her to marry him. “How many more huge mistakes is it going to take for you to stop making them?” Wrong thing for JR to say. Kendall walked out on him and called Zach, asking him to come and rescue her. Palmer started the ceremony and called both Maria and Brooke to the stage. Maria took one last sip of her champagne (Just how many glasses does that total now?) and took the stage. As Brooke presented the award, Maria just glared at her. “You just keep it,” she spit, as the audience stared at the scene unraveling with open mouths.

Zach consulted Livia on her legal opinion. “Can I take Cambias away from my son,” he asked. Yes. Livia warned him he was going to have to mix it up with Ethan in court. And it was going to get ugly. At the Award benefit, Ethan convinced Jack to be his lawyer, and Erica was none to pleased to be the last to learn her fiancè was on Ethan’s side.

Convinced that someone was out to kill Diana, Babe was determined to get Di out of Little Adam’s life. And Adam agreed with her (gasp!). Di explained her way out of the almost vehicular homicide to JR, but Babe and Adam remained unconvinced. Later, Di met Stuart for the first time. Something in her voice reminded him of Pigeon Hollow. (Hmmm?) “Are you sure we haven’t met before?” he asked. “Maybe in some other life,” she replied…While Jamie and Tad were discussing the odds on whether Dixie is alive, Tad received a phone call about “Jane Doe.” She had massive facial reconstructive surgery, and it was still unknown if she was pregnant or not. Babe went over to the Martins to share her worries about Di with her future hubby and future father-in-law. They were skeptical, but Tad vowed to look into Di’s past and ensure it didn’t threaten Little Adam’s future…Thursday, April 28, 2005
While visiting Krystal, Tad threatened to expose the warden’s questionable deeds unless Krystal stayed safe. Krystal was grateful, but asked him to leave. Krystal, the most popular prisoner in Pine Valley, received another visitor, and this one greeted her with a passionate kiss — David. “Nice try,” Tad laughed and pin-pointed that this was just another way for Krystal to let him loose. She pleaded with him to just move on. He sighed and left her with David. Since Tad didn’t believe them, David proposed they make the thing between them real. Then he assured Krystal he was already working on keeping her safer in the pen. Too late, Tad had already taken care of that.

Greenlee was calling hospitals in a frantic search for her hubby when Ryan walked through the door. Greenlee wanted Ryan to get therapy. In the heat of fighting and then making up (yet again), Greenlee noticed a fresh bruise on Ryan’s face. “How did you get that?” He ordered her to leave him alone. “Let’s see how he likes it,” Greenlee said and left with no word to her hubby…At Wildwind, Brooke reminded Maria about Edmund’s Humanitarian Award she needed to accept. The two got in an argument about Edmund — imagine that! — and Maddie, but by the end of the episode, Maria showed up at the event. She looked at a picture of Edmund on display, “Son of a bitch,” she muttered and drank her champagne… While Jamie was working on his motorcycle JR came in and pushed it on top of him, pinning his brother under the bike. (No brotherly love there. Ouch!) JR wanted answers about Tad’s hand in the clues that Dixie is alive. Babe saved the day and threatened JR unless he left Jamie alone. Jamie went to his dad’s house in search of answers about JR’s claims. Father and son shared a heart-to-heart about the possibility that Dixie might be alive.

At the Chandler Mansion, Di was caught going through an old photo album by Adam. “Just who are you, really?” Adam asked. (Good question!) Adam reminded Di of her responsibilities and remained suspicious of her. JR returned and told Adam to back off of Di. Then, Di and JR went through the photo album. Babe checked in with Stuart (Yay, a Stuart appearance!) at the Chandler mansion to ensure Little Adam was okay. She was worried that the baby would get hurt due to JR’s recent behavior. Before Stuart could find out if the baby was okay, Adam caught the two. Babe explained JR almost killed Jamie. JR’s ears much have been burning because in he walked. He introduced Babe to the new nanny, but Babe was quick to inform the room that not only had they met, but someone was trying to kill Di. Uh-oh.

Erica was stressing over her wedding when Zach walked up. He brought good news: Kendall dumped Ethan … and Zach had proposed to La Kane’s daughter. “I may be ill,” groaned Erica. Zach explained this was a business agreement, and Erica remained positive it would never happen. When Zach joked that Erica would be a good person for Kendall to turn to for help with the pre-nup (since she’s been through it so many times), Erica picked up a knife. “You ever hear about the husband I stabbed?” she threatened. If he married Kendall, she promised there would be blood. Later, Anita tried to encourage Zach to work things out with Maria.

Lily confided to her dad that she thought it was her fault that Ryan got hurt, while Maria and Sam looked on. Jack assured her she did everything right and allowed Sam and Lily to go get ice cream. (Some punishment for getting in a fight at school!) After the kiddies left, Erica walked in on Jack and Maria in a completely innocent embrace. Uh-oh! Erica informed Jack of Zach’s proposal and when she discovered Maria already knew she was furious. Maria left before a catfight could follow. Erica sought help from Jack pertaining the Kendall situation. He had one condition: Jack would help her with Kendall if Erica would help him with Greenlee. Um, Greenlee is just standing by her man, Erica noted. “If you think that is such an admirable quality why don’t you try it yourself,” Jack shot back. She threw her wedding file at him, proof that she would stand by him for the rest of her life. He stood firm: “You help me with my daughter or you are on the own with yours.”

Ryan came home to Greenlee where she proposed they take a road trip, just the two of them. It was great seeing both characters smile and laugh again. The smiles were bid adieu, though, when Greenlee went to lead Ryan to the bedroom. “Do you want to make love? Or do you want to make a baby?” he asked. In her datebook he found she had written “Baby window” on the date. She assured him she would give him time. They didn’t have to have a baby now. Unfortunately for her, he didn’t want a baby… ever.

Kendall stood strong with her ultimatum. She would marry Ethan only if he gave Cambias to Zach. “You are a walking, talking Cambias curse,” she claimed. She wanted Ethan Ramsey back, the guy she fell in love with. She would marry THAT Ethan. THIS Ethan couldn’t give her what she wanted, though. He couldn’t give up Cambias or his identity. A musical montage ended the episode with Ethan leaving Kendall on the roof in tears, Erica walking out on Jack, Ryan leaving Greenlee, Zach drinking alone, and Maria observing the sweetness of Sam and Lily with a smile on her face.

“Is it possible my mother could be alive?” JR asked slowly. Tad informed him about the recent clues as Di eavesdropped from the doorway. JR thought that it was a scam, and that Tad was behind it. Tad couldn’t believe JR would think that; he loved Dixie, too. Tad left, determined to find out about this “Jane Doe.” JR hired Di as the nanny and the two talked about Dixie. JR told Di she reminded him of his mother and you could see the guilt in Di’s eyes. She was reluctant, but JR persuaded her to take the job. Adam still didn’t trust her. Later, Di and David met up and Di assured him the plan was working.

David visited Krystal in prison where she had a request for him. “Fall in love with me,” she asked, but it wasn’t what you think. Krystal needed everyone to think they were in love so Brooke would run the Tempo article. David pledged to get her out of there and assured her he was helping Babe…Ryan showed up at Aidan’s and it wasn’t pretty. Aidan was furious at Ryan. He should have never tried to take Jonathan down alone. Ryan tried to explain his actions, but Aidan didn’t want to hear it. Ryan needed Aidan’s help, though. He was there to find out about his sister, Erin. Aidan mentioned the possibility of Jonathan getting to her first and a fight ensued. Tad came to the rescue and broke it up. Business was booming for Aidan today, first Ryan’s inquiry about Erin and then Tad needed information on the clues about Dixie possibly being alive.

Kendall and Greenlee were arguing about Ryan when Dani and Simone entered Fusion. The girls tried to have a mini focus group about Greenlee’s love life, but Greenlee wanted none of that. Simone played cupid throughout the episode, first by getting Kendall on the rooftop with Ethan and then by convincing Greenlee to have a nice night together with her husband. On the roof, Ethan tried to convince Kendall they should forget about revenge and simply love each other. He planted a kiss on her and assured her that he may have lied about Edmund’s murder, but he loved her. With that, he asked her to marry him again. She would marry him on one condition: he had to sign over Cambias Industries to Zach.

Zach presented Kendall with an engagement ring. She gave it back to him, though. “Ethan’s ring was better,” she quipped. Greenlee tried to intervene between the two, but Kendall brought her focus back to a missing Ryan. They had to find him. Meanwhile, Ryan turned up back at the scene of the crime: the cave in which he killed his brother. Ryan saw a vision of Jonathan again. He went to attack, but was zoned back to reality when he realized it was Sam standing before him. The young Grey thanked Ryan for killing his father’s murderer. “Why did he kill my dad?” Sam asked. Jonathan was sick and no one could see it until it was too late. Ryan was sorry. Exit Sam, enter the vision of Jonathan again, continuing to torment Ryan. “Shut up!” Ryan yelled to a not-exactly-there Jonathan as Greenlee and Kendall looked on, obviously concerned. Greenlee and Kendall zapped him back into reality, and Kendall and Ryan shared a heart-to-heart. Ryan figured out Greenlee told Kendall his desire for no kids. He made it clear that no one could ever change his mind. As soon as he walked away from the girls, Jonathan’s vision and voice returned to him.

Ethan informed Maria that Zach asked Kendall to marry him. There is no way that’s true, Maria countered. Enter Zach: For once Ethan was telling the truth. Maria demanded that Ethan leave them alone. She was convinced Zach proposed to Kendall to hurt Ethan and Maria. This has nothing to do with you, claimed Zach. Why couldn’t they just accept this was done and over, Zach wondered. She reluctantly agreed, tears shining in her eyes. After he left she broke down in tears… At the high school, ‘The Hot Girls’ tormented Lily. Autumn, the ringleader, started touching Lily and Lily attacked her. Oblivious to the fact that Autumn instigated the fight, the principal summoned Lily and Sam to her office. “I’ll protect you,” Sam promised…

Tad and Adam were fighting over whether Adam had anything to do with the recent clues about Dixie when Di came to the door. Tad and Di immediately recognized each other from their foggy night. “Why are you here?” Adam barked. Di explained she was there to join their family. She wanted to be the nanny. Adam had his reservations, but JR was immediately enticed and offered to interview her. David’s prepared resume was a success. And if that wasn’t enough, Di told a story about how she supposedly cured her former client’s fear of lions. She would put a burger outside the youngster’s room so the lion would eat that and not the child. Weird, said JR. His mom used to do the exact same thing, except it was a tiger and a ham sandwich. Out in the living room Tad and Adam continued to have a heated discussion about Adam’s role in the clues about Dixie. He promised Tad on the love of his son that he had nothing to do with it. “If that information is real, there is a good chance Dixie is out there somewhere — alive,” Tad said as JR and Di listened from the doorway.
