Adam continued to insist to JR that he’s the picture of health, despite Babe’s eyewitness account of his mini-stroke — and that he would never jeopardize Little Adam’s well-being. JR and Adam’s encounter grew heated, but Adam stirred JR’s emotions with a heartfelt speech about his love for his kids. “I love you, Dad,” said a choked-up JR. Adam was thrilled to be reunited with his son, and expressed admiration for JR’s tenacity….
As Maria looked on, Tad sent a picture of Dixie to the Swiss clinic. He explained to Maria about the Jane Doe that had been found back in Switzerland. “Is it possible that Dixie survived?” wondered Maria; Tad acknowledged that it was risky business to get his hopes up. But Tad and Maria (both of whom were at one time presumed dead themselves) agree that stranger things have happened. Tad then got the call from Dr. Catel that he couldn’t identify whether Jane Doe was Dixie, or pregnant. The dead ends made Tad suspicious enough to charge over to the Chandler mansion and accuse Adam of orchestrating a cruel effort to make him think Dixie is alive. JR defended his dad at first, but when Tad elaborated his reasons for suspecting Adam of a setup, JR began to have doubts. Adam swore on Colby’s life that he had nothing to do with the potential resurfacing of Dixie….
Di reeled off to David all the reasons he should consider calling their plot to a halt, including her fear of being arrested for “impersonating a saint”. He set her mind at ease by coaching her how to look into the eyes of Dixie’s loved ones just soulfully enough to shake them up. Indeed, JR was jarred when Di arrived at the mansion and declared herself to be the answer to his prayers….
Ethan urged Kendall not to degrade herself by marrying Zach, who stopped by to assure his son that his proposal was no joke. As Greenlee struggled not to regurgitate the muffin she’d consumed on yesterday’s show, she gaped at the prenup Zach handed to Kendall, which stipulated that she would get half of Cambias in exchange for her getting licenses for his casinos to reopen. Kendall pointed out to Ethan what she and Zach have in common: “We both love sunsets, sushi, and we both want to rip everything away from you.” She then declared Ethan to be nothing to her but a bad memory. Greenlee and Zach exchanged harsh words; Kendall pulled Greenlee away. Once alone with Ethan, Zach turned to his son with an amused glint in his eye and asked if he’d serve as best man. Ethan failed to see the humor. “You have a certain gift for cruelty,” he spit. Ethan warned that if Zach hurt Kendall in any way, he would strangle his pop with his bare hands. Kendall and Greenlee, meanwhile, took refuge in a supply closet and Greenlee begged Kendall not to respond to Ethan’s hurt by marrying Zach. “Zach will destroy you,” she cautioned. She then informed Kendall that since Hart saved her life that day on the rooftop, she was going to do everything in her power to save her right back. “The old Kendall is back in fighting form,” beamed her pal, who remained determined to pay Ethan back at any price. Greenle enveloped her in a hug; a flicker of vulnerability flashed across Kendall’s eyes, then left just as fast. Kendall returned to her previously-held position that “trusting people is stupid,” then switched the topic to Ryan. Greenlee shared with Kendall that Ryan told her he won’t have children, so Kendall volunteered to try to talk some sense into Lavery. While Greenlee refused to name her baby after Kendall as a thank you, she remained open to the possibility of naming Kendall godmother. But when the ladies went to visit Ryan, he had gone missing from his hospital room….
Zach offered Ethan another truce, which he once again refused. Zach took off, leaving Ethan alone in the lobby. When Maria strolled in, Ethan announced that Zach had struck again.

Tad fantasized about a radio report declaring that Dixie had been found, cyrogenically frozen, and was being safely melted back to life. When he woke up from his reverie, Maria barged in and asked him if he still loved his former wife — but she was referring to Brooke, not Dixie. Maria, at her wit’s end, ranted about how Brooke was running interference in her life. Tad defended Brooke, pointing out that her problem was truly with Edmund, not with Ms. English. Tad tried to buoy Maria’s spirits and urged her to focus on the future. When she sighed that she feels like she did back in her Maureen days, Tad wondered if she still loved who Maureen loved (meaning Zach). Maria acknowledged conflicted feelings about Slater, adding, “I can’t walk across my husband’s dead body to get to him.” Tad and Maria compared notes about how screwed up the last year of their lives have been and Tad said it was possible to live a great life without a great love. Maria then promised Tad with a smile that she wouldn’t take out Brooke. They were interrupted by a phone call from the Swiss doctor, who told Tad that a Jane Doe had been brought to a rural hospital six days after Dixie’s accident. “My God,” gasped Tad….
Ethan brought Greenlee snacks at the hospital to thank her for helping to save Kendall’s life. Greenlee pointed out that Kendall hated him, “and all the bad coffee and stale muffins in the world won’t change that.” Ethan sought advice from Greenlee, noting that Ryan had hated her not that long ago, but Greenlee wasn’t all that eager to provide assistance. “You’re as bad as Erica,” Ethan seethed, advising Greenlee not to burn her bridges with him….
Zach arrived at Kendall’s door, which she promptly slammed in his face. She reopened it when he explained why he was there: Because he wanted her to marry him. “Are you on medication, Zach?” she replied. Zach teased that as she’d faked a marriage to Michael and accepted a ring from Ethan, he was the only Cambias she’d never been betrothed to and he felt left out. Zach helped himself to a seat on Kendall’s couch and mapped out his plan to make her his wife. Once Alexander’s will was overturned, Zach explained, Bianca and Miranda would lose their share of Cambias Industries. If she married him, Kendall could ensure the financial security of her sister and niece. “Marriage for business sucks,” was her way of turning him down. She accused Zach of just wanting to stick it to Ethan. “You’ve got me,” he grinned, but noted that she was eager for revenge against Ethan herself and what better way to get it than to marry Zach? She said she didn’t need to marry him to get her payback. Zach took a different angle, elaborating about the role he would expect her to play as his wife and what she could expect in return. Kendall was stunned when she realized Zach’s proposition was quite serious and asked Zach how Maria might respond to him taking her as a bride. Maria, replied Zach, was an off-limits topic. The two then shared a giggle about how Erica would respond if they actually got married. Later, Kendall caught the tail end of Greenlee and Ethan’s conversation, and when she heard Ethan speaking harshly to Greens, Kendall stepped out of the shadows and warned Ethan that if he wasn’t careful, she’d accept his dad’s proposal….
Babe came to visit JR to demand that Little Adam not be left alone with Adam (the big one), since she’d witnessed his health episode earlier. Adam was outraged, but when Little Adam’s nanny rubbed Babe the wrong way and she argued for her dismissal, JR sided with Babe and gave the caretaker her walking papers. JR warned Babe not to take this as a sign that they’re now on the same side. Babe pleaded with JR to listen to her about Adam’s health. “What happens if you have another one of those episodes?” she asked Adam. “Get the hell out of here,” JR commanded. “Don’t cuss in front of our son,” she chastised before taking her leave. Babe then joined her dad at the hospital; he’d pulled some strings to get her community service sentence commuted to janitorial work like his. She shared with David that JR had given the nanny the heave-ho, and with glint in eye, David took off. He hurried back to the cabin, where earlier he’d left Di to dye her hair blond (the better to look like Dixie). David was stunned by Di’s resemblance to Dixie after she revealed her new ‘do. “Perfect,” he declared. “And just in time.” Back at the Chandler mansion, JR made it clear to Adam that he was sincerely concerned about his dad’s health….
Brooke visited Krystal to deliver an ultimatum: She would write an expose in Tempo on prison abuse if Krystal agreed to sever her ties to Tad, as being so involved with Krystal was wreaking havoc on Tad’s mental state. Krystal told Brooke that she wasn’t going to take the bribe and revealed that she’d already advised Tad to move on. Short of taking out a hit on Tad, said Krystal, what more could she do to make it clear to Tad that their relationship was over?

After a puff of white smoke and the announcement of a new Pope, we entered Pine Valley a bit late. Jack and Erica were in the midst of a heated argument about the danger Ryan posed when Maria walked up. Erica wasn’t about to let her nemesis visit Ryan, but Greenlee had the final call and allowed Maria to enter per Ryan’s request. Ryan apologized to Maria for his brother killing Edmund. The two bonded over the deaths of people they loved who weren’t who they seemed (Edmund and Jonathan). Outside of his room, Erica and Greenlee united for Ryan’s sake. “You and I agreed on the same thing. Isn’t this where something is supposed to freeze over?” Greenlee quipped and then sought advice on how to help Ryan through this. Erica offered her wisdom: You’re going to have to fight….
JR was now with Kendall (Ethan disappeared to the police station while the Pope was being introduced.) discussing his own doubts of Ethan after she shared the news of the proposal. “I would have never made a pass at you if I thought I was cutting into something that was serious,” he admitted — how noble — and the two discussed what she should do. At the police station, the DA announced to Zach, Ethan, Livia and Derek that another witness had turned up, and the camera panned to Ethan with a huge grin on his face. Alone with his son, Zach called Ethan on paying off the new witness. “Whatever it takes to win,” the young Brit exclaimed. But things didn’t go exactly as Ethan planned. Livia returned and announced the charges against Zach had been dropped. Too much reasonable doubt. “I win,” Zach declared. But Derek sighed: “I guess we’ll never know who told the truth.” Maybe you will, Mr.Frye. Kendall barged in with a finger pointed in the direction of both Zach and Ethan. ‘He’s the liar,’ she declared. Was she pointing at father or son? ….
Babe and Tad were visiting Krystal in prison, where the prisoner was obviously hurt. She fell down the stairs, Krystal explained and then told Babe to go visit that baby of hers. Babe left, but Tad wasn’t as easy to get rid of. He wanted the truth. What reallyhappened? Krystal admitted her broken ribs were from being roughed up. “Let it go,” she pleaded with him, but he didn’t. Tad threatened the warden. He would make her a Tempo cover girl for a prison abuse scandal if Krystal ever ‘fell down the stairs again.’ …David explained to Di how he was going to have everyone believe she was Dix. Apparently, after the not-so-fatal car accident Dixie had an extreme makeover. And with a little history lesson in Cooney 101, David was sure he could have Di whistling Dixie. Um, what if someone wants a DNA test? Di protested. David dismissed all of her doubts and informed her the plan was already set into motion. Cut to Tad, at home, receiving a phone call from a doctor in Switzerland. Dixie’s car had finally been found… but no body. Smell something fishy?

Erica happened onto Maria and Zach at the hospital. La Kane managed to get a couple of one-liners out before Zach carted her away where she then laid into him. As she pranced out of the room, Zach got the last word. “Why don’t you give my regards to your latest groom-to-be,” he snarked. With barely a second to recover from Hurricane Erica, Maria burst in, demanding to talk to him. She tried to apologize and explain herself (again), but he didn’t want to hear it (again). Not so fast, Zach, she had something else to reveal and it was a doozie: “I never stopped loving you.” … Lily and Reggie went to visit Aidan because Lily needed to know where her bodyguard disappeared to. Aidan broke the news to the young little P.I. that Steve was six feet under. Lily tried to comfort Aidan, but the her butterflies got in the way. However, she seemed confident they would go away soon….
Ryan continued to struggle with killing Jonathan. “I’m not giving up on you,” Greenlee promised her hubby. Ryan informed her there would be no kids for them — ever. She tried to sway him, but he would hear none of it. “Get out!” he ordered. Erica and Jack entered the popular hospital room, but Jack quickly followed his daughter out to soothe t her. He didn’t provide much consolation as he suggested she leave Ryan. No way, said Greens. Ryan needed her, now more than ever. Meanwhile, Erica stayed with Ryan and tried to ensure he knew just how much he was loved. She thanked him for fighting for her in Vegas. He fought for her then and she was going to be there for him now….
Kendall blew up at Ethan. “Liar!” she yelled. But Ethan demanded that they work through this. After much probing from Kendall, he finally admitted he lied to her about Edmund’s murder. But the confession was followed by excuse after excuse. Kendall wasn’t buying into them; she had her own ideas. “You lied because you don’t trust me,” she tearfully claimed. Their heart-to-heart was interrupted by the police. Uh oh. Derek had questions about Ethan’s misleading statement. Ethan didn’t budge, though, and assured the good officer that his statement was correct — Zach killed Edmund Grey. (Will this guy every learn?)
