Di and David tried to further discuss her impersonating Dixie, but were interrupted by Dix’s former hubby pounding on the door. Di hid as Tad made his way in, confronting David about selling out Liza and Colby. Before much could be said, Babe, who was worried about Krystal, decided to join the party. What’s that? Another pound at the door? Yup. JR showed up demanding answers from David about the tabloid report on him. Adam was next to arrive at Hotel Yell-At-That-Blasted-Hayward. “Go away, we’re full!” bellowed David. Adam was enraged that the information about Liza he was given was incorrect. JR, Tad, Adam and Babe each yelled at the not-so-good doctor for their own reasons and then left, Babe vowing she never wanted to speak to her Daddy again. “You sure know how to throw a party,” Di quipped as she emerged from hiding, a bit more enticed about “becoming” Dixie.
Maria tried to talk with “I’m just an angry teen” Sam about Jonathan being Edmund’s murderer, but it didn’t go well. Sam stayed furious at his mom and her “lover,” a word he repeated an uncomfortable number of times. Speaking of Zach, he and Jack shared their own confrontation at the hospital about his fault in the recent Pine Valley drama.
Greenlee remained worried about Ryan, and rightfully so. While alone in his room, her hubby saw a vision of Jonathan standing before him. (Is it in the genes?) When Greenlee went to his side to try and comfort him, Ryan stared stoically past her. Greenlee mentioned a memorial service and tears slid from Ryan’s eyes as he saw Ghost Jonathan again. Not one for silence, Greenlee starting talking about their future with many babies and Ryan’s eyes perked up. “No!” he quickly responded.
For the first time since Kendall discovered Jonathan killed Edmund she came face-to-face with Ethan, but a shaken Kendall remained mum about her recent discovery. Ethan embraced her and pledged his love, but she didn’t look completely convinced. She let him take her home where he tried to romance her. And what better way to romance a gal than pull out a rock as big as the one in the cave and propose marriage. Kendall was quick to reply: “I don’t want you, you lying son of a bitch.” (Is that a no?)

JR told Ethan about the explosion as Jackson comforted Greenlee and Kendall, who were awaiting word on Ryan’s fate. Aidan told Greenlee the rescuers were bringing out Ryan. “Is he alive?” Greenlee asked. Aidan could only gasp for air, so the credits rolled while he caught his breath. “He’s alive,” Aidan puffed. “Thank God. Is he hurt?” Befuddled, Aidan claimed, “There’s no word on is condition yet.” Dude, then how do you know he’s alive? The medics hauled Ryan, fitted with a neck brace, on a gurney. Glassy-eyed, Ryan mumbled, “Jonathan…is dead.” Anita checked out Ryan, who was in his own world, hearing Jonathan ranting in his head. Tad sidled up and demonstrated a bedside manner that showed why he’s a PI, not a doctor. “Serves you right for giving me the slip,” he cracked to the wounded man. Anita took advantage of the levity to tell Aidan his pal Steve had been stabbed to death. At the hospital, Joe ordered tests for Ryan and ordered his loved ones to a V.I.P. suite that’s “ready and waiting.” Hello, minibar! Jack told Greenlee he arranged for her to stay in the room adjoining Ryan’s. Hello, minibra! (or not). Greens begged Ryan to say something, prompting him to awaken, fix his gaze on her and say, “There’s nothing to say; it’s over.”
Blast survivor Lily was flipping out, chanting “solve the case, solve the case,” so Reggie took her to Erica’s place. Dr. Kane prescribed a warm bath, warm milk and warm conversation (even if it did include veiled references to Erica’s rape at 14), which calmed the troubled teen. After the tub, Erica told Lily, “I would be so honored if you would agree to be my daughter.” Lily responded by asking for a towel, because, “My mother used to dry my hair with a towel.”
Meanwhile, Di wriggled out of Tad’s embrace and lamented being constantly mistaken for Dixie. “You men need a new line or a group eye exam.” Tad apologized and assured her, “I don’t run around grabbing strange women — unless they ask.” Spying this, David suspected Di knew Tad. She denied it and said she wanted a new life, prompting David to suggest she assume Dixie’s identity. “Dixie was an angel. You get to be her — dogs wagging their tails and following you home. Dixie was the most-respected, most-admired, most-loved woman in town,” said David (obviously hoping Erica wasn’t within earshot). And, he’d pay her. “Throw in a free toaster and I just might take you up on it,” she responded.
JR confronted Tad and mocked his PI skills. (Does he recommend medicine?) Tad insisted he wanted to reconcile because life is lonely enough without wallowing in unnecessary grudges, like Jonathan and Ryan. JR then mocked Tad’s TV-movie-of-the-week mentality and revealed that, “Thanks to Hayward, my father knows where Colby is.” As JR stalked off, he warned Tad: “Don’t use my mother anymore. You’re spitting on her memory, and I don’t like it.”
Ethan was convinced that Kendall needed a hot shower and a hot meal. “You’re far from bloody fine,” he ranted before threatening to lock her up to prove how valuable she is to him. Ethan headed for the cafeteria and returned with a long-winded explanation for bringing back cheeseburgers. Greenlee noted Kendall’s “sticky situation” with Ethan. Kendall asked how Greens was feeling. “If I told you I was fine you’d call me a lying bitch,” she retorted. Well, you got that right…

A dying Jonathan was still intent on taking Ryan with him by blowing up the cave. “You killed me. Are you happy, Ryan?” And with the press of a button: Kaboom! The cave exploded with the three Lavery brothers (Jonathan, Ryan and Braden’s decaying body) inside. Greenlee and Kendall (who were standing right outside the entrance) went flying through the air, literally. Greenlee and Kendall were fine, but what about Ryan? Jack, Aidan, Reggie, Tad and Derek to the rescue. They had a team of men brought in to remove the mound of boulders from the entrance of the cave. Kendall comforted her on-again/off-again best friend as Greenlee was sure she had lost another husband. “I can’t do this, not again,” cried Greenlee. You might not have too, Greens. “We got one over here!” one of the rescue men exclaimed. “Dead or alive?” The camera panned to Greenlee’s face. Tune in tomorrow.
Jack, Aidan and Reggie went looking for a missing Lily (who was hiding from the noise inside of a tree — yes, you read that right) after the explosion. But Sam found her first. They bonded over not being “normal.” Can you feel the love in the air? Sam coerced her out of the tree just as Aidan and the rest of the gang walked up, and Reggie took Lily home. Meanwhile, Maria spent the episode attacking Ethan for lying about Edmund’s murder.
Di hid and spied on JR and David’s confrontation. In the heat of the one-liners, Babe walked in. JR threatened to call the cops on David for his stash of drugs. Not so fast. David claimed JR was the criminal here and that he broke in and stole Liza’s number. Uh-uh. Babe didn’t buy it and all eyes were on daddy dearest. David promised Babe that he didn’t give Liza’s number to Adam. You better not have, Babe warned, or it would be over between father and daughter. Once he was alone David went out to find Di, who unfortunately had disappeared. Not to worry, though, Tad spotted her. As soon as his eyes locked on Di (through thick fog no less) they widened…

Ryan, Greenlee, Kendall and Lily were still being held captive by Jonathan. Jonathan explained he was once committed (there’s a shock) and killed Braden after his big brother threatened to warn Ryan that Jonathan had a rifle (the night of the Murder Mystery). Greenlee pleaded for her husband’s life, but Jonathan threatened to kill her. Ryan to the rescue! He whipped out a gun of his own and pulled it on his baby brother. However, Jonathan was quick to top his brother. (Talk about sibling rivalry.) He revealed a bomb attached to Braden’s decomposing chest and held the trigger in his hand. Ryan begged Jonathan to let him save him. Jonathan responded that he couldn’t trust Ryan now. Wrong answer. Ryan shot his little brother and quickly helped the girls escape. He couldn’t leave Jonathan again, though, and ran back in. He locked eyes with his brother and the camera panned to the bomb trigger, with Jonathan’s finger resting on top of it. Uh-oh.
Di explained to David why she was in prison and that she feared she was in danger now. David returned the favor of information and told Di all about Dixie and how Di reminded him of her. They headed back to David’s cabin together but stopped in their tracks when they saw JR already there. Di hid and David confronted JR (who had the truth serum in hand).
Zach went to check on Sam and Maria freaked when she discovered Sam wasn’t home. Zach offered to help her look for him. During the car ride, Maria informed Zach she knew Edmund could walk. She tried to apologize and explain her recent actions but he didn’t want to hear it. “You CHOSE to believe Edmund over me,” he explained. This didn’t sit well with Maria and she instructed him to pull over and let her out of the car — which he did. Cut to a flashback of their first meeting, where Zach picked Maria up off the side of the road. (Get it? The couple had just come full circle.)
Elsewhere in Pine Valley, Jack, Aidan, Reggie and Tad discovered that Lily and Greenlee never made it to Lily’s school. They went over the clues Greenlee could have given Jack on the phone and went off in search of the girls. Sam, who had shown up wanting to see Lily, followed.

Adam tried to cheer a depressed Brooke with an Italian ice as she mourned Edmund at the boathouse, but she was beyond consolation. If it had been Haagen Dazs dulce de leche, well maybe….
Oh brother! Ryan showed up where Jonathan held Greenlee, Lily and Kendall hostage. Greens then broke the news that Jonathan killed Edmund. Ryan confronted his li’l bro, deducing that Jonathan, not Braden, was behind the recent Pine Valley crime spree as Jon held them all at gunpoint. Jonathan revealed that Braden was in the bat cave too, after all, when he showed Ryan and the ladies his brother’s decomposing body.Jonathan’s clearly gone a little…batty?….
Di narrowly avoided being hit by a car, as Babe came to her aid. The women nearly bonded, but Di declined Babe’s offer of further assistance. Back at their room, Babe filled in Jamie about Adam’s visit, but decided not to give Liza’s information to Adam — and an nonchalant Jamie told her he’d known all along that she’d make the right choice….
David initially refused to hand over the info about Liza’s whereabouts to Erica, but she convinced him to let her “steal” them, assuring him that Babe need never know how he aided her. Erica then gleefully trashed David’s cabin, smashing windows and glasses and pocketing cash to make the burglary appear more authentic. La Kane’s destructive spree proved too effective when Di arrived and then quickly fled upon spotting signs of a break-in. Meanwhile, Erica surprised Adam with the info about Liza, and he rewarded her with a kiss….
Zach assured Sam that he didn’t kill Edmund.
