AMC: Lily Loveline
With another one of Lily’s crushes heading for disaster, here’s a look at the rest of her romantic blunders over the years.
Aidan (December 2004-February 2005)
P.I. Aidan Devane was Lily’s very first crush. She asked him to be her boyfriend and pointed out that this required talking and playing math games. Before too long, Lily decided she’d like to kiss him. Aidan tried to explain that this wasn’t going to happen, but he didn’t quite get his point across until she caught him kissing Anita (the woman he was truly romantic with). Upset, Lily ran away to the Wildwind barn, where she ended up trapped in a fire. Aidan saved her.
Sam (April-December 2005)
After recovering from the trauma of the fire, Lily met Sam Grey, who was immediately taken with her. Despite her fear of touching, she let Sam kiss her. Lily asked Sam to be her boyfriend, and he agreed. When Jonathan Lavery (who killed Sam’s father) returned to town after having the tumor blamed for his violent behavior removed, Lily developed a friendship with him. Sam was infuriated that Lily befriended his father’s murderer, so Lily broke up with him.
Jonathan, (January-August 2006)
Jonathan’s surgery left him on the same mental level as Lily, and they soon paired up. Needless to say, Jack was less than thrilled that his daughter was involved with a murderer, so he set out to end the relationship. He sent Lily away to a special school, but she sneaked off the train and ended up in New York City, where she was almost victimized by a man named Terry. Jonathan arrived just in time to save her, and the pair married before returning to Pine Valley. It wasn’t long before Jon’s mental faculties returned to “normal.” Though he did his best to hide it from Lily, he was eventually forced to tell her the truth, and a devastated Lily divorced him.
Terry a.k.a. “Asperger Boy” (September 2006)
Reeling from Jonathan’s deception, Lily looked for love on the Web. She found “Asperger Boy,” who was really Annie’s crazy ex-husband Terry: the same violent sexual predator who had tried to attack her in New York. “Asperger Boy” wanted to meet in person, and Lily agreed. When she realized her suitor was Terry, Lily was no match for him: He slapped her, leaving her catatonic and completely vulnerable. Jonathan found them just as Terry was about to rape her — and Jon shot Terry dead.
Richie (October 2007-present)
Lily met “Richard” at the Yacht Club one day, and they quickly discovered they had something in common: being outsiders. Lily did not know that “Richard” was really Richie, Annie’s crazy brother, so she scheduled a coffee date. Richie stood her up for Babe. Later, as Lily searched for Richie, he was busy hitting Zach with a car he stole from JR and dumping the body.
