WHAT’S IN STORE FOR:
Ryan: “Ryan has floated around between women. Sometimes he’s a good guy; sometimes he’s a little dark. In other words, sometimes he’s this, sometimes he’s that. My feeling is to get him back to the way he was when I liked him and to the way I think the actor [Cameron Mathison] liked him. Ryan is best a bit roguish, with a little cynicism and a dash of humor — but ultimately a good guy, a white knight. At the same time, [he’s] a guy who fights for his cause. I always saw him as an ambitious person, romantically and otherwise. I don’t like him bearing his feelings or vacillating between women, or doing the right thing for the wrong reasons or the wrong thing for the right reasons. I see him more as a simpler man with a direct purpose and clear goals, who goes about [reaching] them, never in devious, terrible, crazy ways, but gets his results in any way possible. He spent a little too much time wearing his heart on his sleeve, and now it’s time to be more of a man of action.”David: “He can’t just be a guy [holed] up in freezing cold Wildwind. David can’t be Heathcliff looking out on the moors if he wants to raise a child. He needs to set himself up as a pillar in the community. He’s getting all of his ducks in a row as we come into the new year.”

Tad: “I want to give him a position as the head of [the Martin] household, which is an odd choice, because he has always been the guy who goes through life and feels passionately, and forgives people and does the right thing. The truth is, he is an everyman that I found the audience really responds to. I’m going to position him much further up on the canvas, where he belongs. Everybody wants to see more of him, [and] I want to see more of him.”Krystal: “With Krystal under David’s spell, she is not going to become his zombie. She is going to stand up to him, and they’re in a wacky, sick love story, where she is just as smart as David and gives him a run for his money. We are rebuilding the Krystal character to a position where, with Adam on the other side, we can get back to some of what really worked with her — but at the same time forge new ideas.”Jack: “[He is] the only one who Erica can’t bulls–t. He reads her like a card, so whenever she needs a conscience, there he is. Whether they will ever go back to being married or having a full-on romance, it isn’t going to be right away.”
