Alexa Havins – Six Minutes, Six Questions
1. If you could play any other character on AMC besides Babe, whom would you pick?
Oh, wow, I like them all. As far as female characters, I would either want to be Krystal — because she’s always so fun, and it’s something different in Pine Valley with her dialogue and the accent — or Kendall. Alicia (Minshew, Kendall) has some fun times. She gets the catfights and the guys. She’s got it all!
2. Whom do you think Justin would pick?
Zach or Tad. He was jealous when I got to work with Thorsten (Kaye, Zach) awhile back. He gets mad! [Editor’s note: Bruening did, indeed, pick Zach.]
3. You mentioned wanting to be Kendall because she gets into catfights. Babe had her own bar fight with Amanda last year.
That was my first stunt as far as a choreographed fight. Chrishell (Stause, Amanda) was so crazy with the power saw. She did a really good job. She’s grown a lot since she’s joined the cast. That was such a fun fight.
4. How many times did you guys have to do it to get it perfect?
One! I’m dead serious. Everyone was taking bets [on how many takes it would take]. They were like, “They are not going to be able to get this.” But we were so into it.
5. Do you think Babe has been redeemed since the baby switch?
More or less. That’s not something that can be done overnight; it takes time. And I don’t think it’s necessarily acts, like one heroic act, that redeem someone. It’s just showing change. She’s very remorseful and there’s regret with the whole situation. It’s one thing if somebody didn’t feel sorry for what they did, but she repented for her sins. Everyone has a past. Everyone makes mistakes. The only thing you can do is move on and try to be a better person from that point forward.
6. What has the fan reaction been like?
They have always been really good to me. I appreciate the fans who can step aside and say, “I cannot stand what Babe’s doing, but love what you’re doing with it.” ALL MY CHILDREN has amazing fans.
